The Russians have been fighting the world's 22nd largest military for ten years.
NATO is a defensive alliance these 2 nations have been aggressive af Russia just invaded its neighbor china is next that's the difference.
Many of the 32 NATO members are quite small countries and typically NATO member are quite peacful nations that don't spend much GDP on weapons (USA being the big exception). China and Russia are both big nations with huge military budgets, manpower, and weapons. So a war between NATO and a China/Russian alliance would be terribly destructive
