@stalinzambrana5755 he might have gotten knocked out of his boots or simply had them yanked off by the villain, possibly Brainiac judging by the background. Possibly he just recharged a bit with some artificial UV light and is contemplating the fight ahead. I don't think the worst from this image. I have to see the film or just the trailer before I get to that point.

The immediate narrative I got was that it shows superman, exhausted and battle worn, as shown on the suit, but despite that, he has to show resilience and push through because he knows his responsibility to protect the people.

I get what you mean about clark kent being too clumsy... the balance has to come from him trying to exist on a planet essentially made of eggshells. It could be difficult to portray but still needs to be seen.
Personnally think that the suit is good. The picture isn't the best one but the suit is good. It look like a suit and not like an indestructible armor like the past years. It take damages, it's clothes so there are creases, it's supposed to be done by his mother. We see clark Kent becoming superman. He has a human part so yes he is putting on his suit. Nothing crazy in that. The majority of people hating really hard on it are in the part of the toxic snyder fandom (not all his fans the toxic one) and i'm tired of their free hate on everything related to DC.

Yeah the image is not fire. Gunn was thinking this would be an iconic Superman pose. But the photo does not look cinematic or very professional. And the whole idea of Superman’s costume is that he keeps it under his clothes so he’s always ready to jump into action. But I don’t agree with the complaint that Superman should be smiling. Most images of Superman have him in a stoic and serious pose.
Its a pic of a scene in the movie, who knows what's happening? Btw superman doesn't always smile. And the movies not out yet. You can't even see the correct full suit, its dirty and he's sitting.

This could be an ode to all star Superman in some way. What I mean is the creators of that comic had the idea that superman should always look and feel confident because of how powerful he is, he shouldn’t be nervous, or frightened. That could be why in the pic, Corensweat doesn’t appear all that worried about what’s going on in the background. But I understand some of the criticisms, not all though, y’all just biased Snyder stans.
Reminds me of the my adventures with superman suit. We don't know what is happening in the picture or the plot till we get a trailer. He might be defeated in battle or something plus there is more characters in this film like hawkgirl, lex, the engineer etc. David is going to surprise people I have saw his acting and he can do a good clark/superman. Yeah it's a shame Henry cavill got removed but the DCEU was a mess and we needed a reboot.
They just need to pull a Spider-Man where Clark's Superman identity starts to encroach on his life. Causing internal and personal conflict.

For myself i think ppl are reaching just because they dont like the photo. We dont know technically what the full suite will look Ike.
From what I can see in the photo, the only thing I would do differently is my the suit more form fitting around the chest and shoulders. For me, the reveal is a 9 out of 10.
About his boots, if this scene is actually in the movie, Superman might have gotten knocked out of his boots or had them pulled off, judging by the dirt and scuff marks on his suit. And now, after regenerating his strength a little bit from artificial UV light, he's just putting that one boot back on as he gathers his thoughts on the fight he's facing. Especially if Brainiac is someone he's facing.
The photo is a suit reveal with a possible Brainiac easter egg. It's not necessarily a screenshot from the film itself. Take the photo for what it actually is so you don't scare yourself or others out of seeing the movie. Everybody certainly has their valid artistic tastes, but don't dump on another artist's tastes. No matter how you put it, the trunks on the outside IS Superman. Period. You love the comics-accurate Wolverine suit but hate the comics-accurate Superman suit and only in live-action.
Lois Lane in Superman & Lois is a great character. Oh my!! Almost every inch of that show is fantastic. I've never known a white woman to mother her children like she does, not even on TV. As a man who was raised by the American Civil Rights generation and their parents' generation, her parenting style is great (so far)!! The relationship she has with her husband reflects many successful marriages in real life. She's not a damsel in distress which I love for that character.

I don't understand why it looks like WB used the exact same material as the Henry Cavill suit. It's like they still had some material left over from previous movies and defided to cut costs. I expected James Gunn to go an entirely different route with the new look.
Solid 4. I think it's the presentation that does this suit dirty for me, similar to what raven is saying. You've come to show us a new suit, it's 'scuffed,' obscured and the guy looks like he's giving up like what?? It's giving me the feeling that the film will focus on some sort of internal struggle or something, trying to make Superman more human in a kind of 'down on your luck' way? I dunno.
The entire concept of the trunks again is a huge no for me ' it didn't work with superman returns so why bring it back ' there's a reason why zack didn't bring that back again ' man I hope this movie is good cause if it isn't there will never be another superman film ' James gunn has to hit out of the ballpark ' life long superman fan this has to be good
it worked on many suits since returns. The issue is people (not saying u specifically) dont really care about superman. They dont know any superman media besides the big budget movies. CW has unironically given us some of the best suits with trunks since lol... ONE OF THEM BEING WORN BY BRANDON ROUTH!

That suit is probably not even the real suit for the movie cause remember there was a photo of David wearing one for testing the movie where it looked like the original suit but it had a shorter cape and similar logo design to the original which i think that this suit isn't even real one cause remember when james gunn first announced that he was doing Superman he posted a picture of the original 1940s version of superman that hes doing something based off of that look and maybe hes trolling people about what the suit actually will look like

Suit seems to be mostly fine but the lines on the arms and shoulders look absolutely useless and put there so the suit looks textured.
Completely back the guys on the message the photo sends.. this pose was a terrible idea.. It would've been bad enough to see him fixing his boots without Gokuzilla in the background.
When you see the MOS reveal, you're immediately asking questions about the film AND the suit. "Who's he fighting, where is he, what's the texture" ect. We needed to see the new suit as it is IN the movie, not as a routine photo op for the press.. it's not relevant to the suit itself but they're already going against one of the best Supermen suits of all time from MOS & they thought this is the best starting off point

Superman is top of the tree, maxed out OP Boss, he can fly fast enough to make the planet spin backwards, chase down nukes and throw them into space, and act the fool as Clark Kent.

From my perspective , the “Man of Steel” film is the standard for James Gunn’s adaptation ; if it’s quality is below it , I would consider it “🗑️”.
I have to agree with you guys this reveal is an L I’m not a fan of the suit but I need to see it in action maybe the suit will grow on me. We need to see a better depiction of Superman because this is depressing

Man... David's weight gain did not do his face any favours, he's like the first superman who looks kinda frumpy and not handsome. Henry, Brandon Routh, Reeves and even Tyler all got bigger to play the role of Supes and yet their faces were still chiselled and handsome.
Yea, yea, yea, I know that Superman being chiselled and handsome isn't a requirement or necessity but it does add a certain edge to him. David kinda looks like a Guardians of the Galaxy member tryna look hard... actually let me clarify my statement; he looks like Star Lord tryna look hard.
Thats bc Reeve, Brandon and Tyler didnt get to the size of Henry and David, and Henry had to dehydrate himself for days to look like that, thats how actors pull the chiseled look for superheroes during shooting, Chris Evans in Avengers is the best example, he didnt dehydrate for that one thats why his face looks chunky in a lot of the shots

You forget these movies are not supposed to depict Superheroes in the real world like Zack tried to do. James Gunn is going full on comic book world which these characters works best in. These character deal with real life things but trying to say something doesn’t work because it doesn’t work in real life misses the whole point of comic book characters. Like the red shorts. The red shorts works because it makes Superman more human and less intimidating which is something he wants to. He doesn’t want to look intimidating or like a godlike alien.

I get what James Gunn is trying to do... Here's my theory:
James Gunn once stated that the theme of his Superman is to convince or set an example to other heroes on how to be truly heroic. So in the background there is someone, presumably another super hero blasting away and putting civilians in danger, while he has to "put on his boots" in the picture, to step in and set that example. That's what the image portrays to me...👌🏾👌🏾
It’s not the suit. The suit is fine. It’s the photo. The decision to drop this photo as a ‘first look’ was sooo bad that everyone is literally creating their own BACKSTORY about “what is happening”. Thats the problem!

I do not trust gunn because he lied so many times and i do not see him doing well on dc also the guardians films are not because of him its marvel studios and kevin feige and the writer of the first film nicole she was with marvel writing program and it was hers and marvel studios idea and gunn took full credit when its not him at all so with dc if this does bad wb will either scrap it and get rid of him and they dont even actually have a plan
The idea was Feige's, not Nicole, her original script had less than 30% to do with Gunn's final one, thats why she won the case that's the minimum to get writing recognition

Edit: He looks like a really tall 6 foot 1 or a short to medium 6 foot 2, and he'll probably look taller in Superman's boots. He is taller than Henry Cavil but shorter than Jason Momoa.
Another edit: Upon further inspection, he looks like a solid 6 ft 2, so he's safely taller than 6 ft 1, but he still isn't 6 ft 3 and nowhere near 6 ft 4. Google's out here claiming that he's 193 cm, I'm like bruh!
