I have curly brown hair and just did a copper/bronze balayage. There's no lighter color without lift, and no lift without damage. Loved seeing what you used to help her curls recover! Amanda looks great with both lighter and darker hair.
I’ve never been a color girlie just cuz I am terrified of damaging my hair but this is a comfort to me and makes me feel a little more open to coloring my curly hair
I loved the cherry cola red color, I want it sooo bad! I wish I had a sister who was a professional stylist who could do the color for me because I know it’d be a disaster if I did it on my own 😂
The cherry cola was gorgeous, but resting atop such an excellent face gives it a boost! Excited to see the results! ETA: first correction looks lovely!
You can tell this one is serious... I've don't recall ever seeing you two so "stylist and client" vibe before. Love the dynamic between you two! Seesters through thick and thin
Have been loving your videos. Love the outcome. Honestly, I've been going back and forth on whether to color my hair again, as I'm just learning how to work with curly/wavy hair (after 61 years I would fight my curls and straighten) Thanks to your videos I love my curls now. I let all my color just grow out during the pandemic and let go natural color with the gray. SO right now it's salt and pepper, more pepper. I'm 61 and some days I just feel drab, but I'm finally happy with my curls and don't want to ruin that and start all over by coloring.
OMG, I’m gonna miss the red/violet tones on Amanda but I’m glad she’s reverting to her usual lighter colors if she’s over the red. I actually got my first color treatment done by a curly sylist with Amanda’s hair as the inspiration! My hair is naturally black so it was a double process. Sometimes this color just makes my hair look dark brown, but in the right lighting it looks PURPLE/VIOLET and it it’s EVERYTHING to me. I was only matching with Amanda for a month 😅 but I don’t regret this color at ALL, I keep getting so many compliments ❤❤ This is solely my opinion but I think dark hair suits Amanda so well! It’s very romantic, and for some reason the flush in her cheeks pops out more to me with the dark hair.
I loved the darker red on Amanda!! Wish she would have kept it. But I love the lighter color too. Im a fan of red and have been dying mine red for abt 5 yrs or so. It is definitely high maintenance and washing your scalp in 🥶 cold water to make the color last is so refreshing but honestly its not for everyone. And yes, red gets everywhere. I just love it so much and can't walk away from it lol. Great job Mel ❤
LOVED that colour on Amanda but totally understand it’s a person preference. I don’t sue my hair anymore but my most favourite colour ever was this deep plum-god it was gorgeous! Buy hard to keep and hard to get rid of. But gorgeous! Now I rock my silver hair and can’t think to ever cover it. 💖💖
I agree. It sounds like they think Mel screwed up, but it would be good for Amanda to admit the cherry colour was her decision to have! Also, cannot relate; that cherry cola colour was LUXURIOUS ❤ At the end of the day, Amanda will always fall back to what feels more comfortable for her... .I just wished caramel and blonde weren't so cliche, we need women to be bold and unique, and use other colours in their hair, and not what 99% of people use (blonde) 🙄 I think her darker hair added so much layers; not to her hair but to her personality. She could look completely innocent or a total psycho in that cherry cola colour, and she just went back to what's familiar. I even feel she doesn't deserve Mel at all. Cherry cola IS 2024's colour, even more now in Autumn. Missed opportunity, in my opinion.
To me, her lovely hair looked very full with the cherry cola red but darker hair needs much lighter/brighter settings for the depth of the color to be noticeable. And unless you're carrying a large mirror outside, it's hard to see, much less appreciate. Also, I think the cherry red clashed a bit with her bronzer because it looked quite different on her no-makeup face. Either way, I'm glad she went with what made her happiest. She's lucky to have a seester to do it for her too because that is a lot of hair and a LOT of effort.
Ohhhhh I LOVED the cherry cola color! It was MADE for Amanda! I wish I could pull off that color! Personally I love her hair darker but it ain’t my hair lol.
First, Amanda looks gorgeous. Secondly, you just showed me why my own curly hair is … not as curly but very frizzy. I go get my hair colored. I have blonde, brown and red in my hair.
I love Amanda's dark hair. I understand how she feels about not having the dimension though. Last year I also went dark with a little red. I lost my highlights. I went back and got the highlights back. It looked so much better. I also went short, but I had gone to a non curly hair specialist and hated the cut. This year I messed up my hair color by toning it and it turned black brown with no highlights. I am waiting for it to wash out and get my highlights back.
So happy Amanda is back to brown! Yay! I did not want to say it before but I think your original colors before the wedding and even going dark for the wedding suited you better. But that's my opinion. You are beautiful no matter what!
I loved the cherry cola but I have to agree with Amanda and the lack of dimension. Still haven’t found a way to have dimension with dark colors despite loving them
It’s always nice to change it up once in awhile but Amanda looks best with the lighter brown color. It makes her curls pop more and it is just a more flattering color in my opinion.
Amanda is gorgeous no matter what but I much prefer the lighter, softer color - when it was first done I thought it looked so solidly heavy, especially with the bangs. 😬 But I always prefer a bit of dimension in curly hair (including my own). Love the direction now!
Oh oh oh! Have to STOP the video to text. AMANDA hi, you look beautiful no matter what color you chose but the AFTER in this video you look fabulous girl!!!! ❤
Happy Texture Thursday ladies! I have a question: have you guys ever considered trying Brazilian curly hair brands such as Lola Cosmetics, Skala, or Salonline? Some products are pretty easy to find in a few South and North American countries and I’ve been able to find a few things on Amazon but I’m not sure how shipping to Canada works
I wanted red highlights a few years ago and I ended up with hot pink highlights! I was mortified! It took hours to tone it down and get it to red! After that, I would get caramel highlights. I don't have my hair highlighted anymore because it is very expensive and damaging to my hair!
Amanda looks beautiful in all colors! Let’s be real, you both do! ❤ I’m curious, I have virgin curly hair, 35 years old and have never colored my hair. It’s dark black/brown and tbh I want a change! I wanna go a little lighter, maybe add some caramel or blonde balayage. But I keep hearing it’s not a good idea and it’ll just damage my hair 😢 what should I do? Also as a side note, even though my hair has never been colored I’m currently trying to figure out why I’ve had so much hair fallout lately so I’m trying to get it a little healthier. Would it not be a good idea to color it while I’m trying to strengthen it?
I would have never applied heat to the process. Color removal creates heat on its own. This is me just 1/3 thru the video, however. Also I'm a scare-dy cat. Haha😊 Love ya, Mel!
The cherry cola was great on Amanda, but I can also understand tho you liked it, it was a moment, not a lasting look you wanna rock long term. Mell did an amazing job integrating that dimension that defines and highlights curls in such a pleasing way. Love this channel and I’ve even recommended it to another content creator (curly girl Casey over at The Neon Girls 💜 check her out yall her 80s characters are…totally awesome 😁) I love my curls and I love your channel and both your styles! Thanks for your content! Cheering you on NC 👋🏼🥰🌀 “The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His face on you and give you peace.” ( Numbers 6:24-26)
Thinking of going lighter for fall at home but I'm TERRIFIED of what will happen! I had my hair bleached and highlighted last year (professionally done!) and do not want to go for bleach if I don't have to.
unrelated question & i also apologise for the broken english: is a hooded dryer considered direct or indirect heat? (i've literally never seen one but i'm planning to buy one soon)
I have been covering up my 10+ years of Inoa 6.66 to a 5/4 brown, which is closer to my natural color, as I don't do amonia or bleach. Planning on taking on a color transition (even embracing the greys) in 2025, as I now have fully transitioned to my natural texture. Any tips on how to handle embracing the greys?
I wish me and my sister could do our hair together or do each other’s hair. She’s just not into hair and wonders why we need to do so damn much to it as black women, lol.
Amanda has looked gorgeous in every color!!
I have to agree
“Yeah, ‘cause you FRIED it” Amanda 🤣
😂😂
Honestly, both are gorgeous but being happy with your hair is so important. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I have curly brown hair and just did a copper/bronze balayage. There's no lighter color without lift, and no lift without damage. Loved seeing what you used to help her curls recover! Amanda looks great with both lighter and darker hair.

Same here 😂
Agreed!
I agree with Amanda. I love curls with dimension, so I love the new hair, that's not so dark, but great Job on both transformations Mell
The darker color was everything
I love the colours at every stage. I love bright red hair too. It was really interesting seeing the process!😊
I love the cherry cola color. Even after the 2 color lifts the reddish color was beautiful. I wish I could dye my hair that color.
I always loved the light tones on Amanda!😭
The cherry cola was gorgeous, but resting atop such an excellent face gives it a boost! Excited to see the results!
ETA: first correction looks lovely!
Amanda is gorgeous ! ❤❤ she rocks both colors so well 😊
You can tell this one is serious... I've don't recall ever seeing you two so "stylist and client" vibe before. Love the dynamic between you two! Seesters through thick and thin
Lighter tones look amazing! 🤩 👍

Your hair sounds lovely!
This healed something in me.. these two are so cute! ❤😂
Omg stop that’s so beautiful I’m so happy🥹🫶
Amanda, You look fabulous in the chocolate hair color. True, the auburns, cherry colors are in, but this suits you. Mel, fabulous work, as usual.
OMG, I’m gonna miss the red/violet tones on Amanda but I’m glad she’s reverting to her usual lighter colors if she’s over the red. Love it! Looks so much better with your skin tone, etc. Agree that the darker color was just flat with no dimension!
Oh Mell, you can’t do no wrong. Amanda looks fabulous in any hair color & style. I knew she would miss that lighter hair, it was bond to happen. 🥴❤
I agree. It sounds like they think Mel screwed up, but it would be good for Amanda to admit the cherry colour was her decision to have!

Looking amazing Amanda!!!!
Mel you are a hair wizard!!!!❤❤❤❤❤
I like the first day hair - the colour was great! But Amanda is gorgeous and looks good in any hair colour. :)
Really love seeing how you improve hair health after dyeing it. I need help with this, as I currently highlight my hair to cover greys.
Loved this video girlys😍 can’t wait to see your next one! PS Amanda’s hair looks phenomenal
Omg I loved that in between red!
Wooww next week is A BIg review so excited
Thats my favv type pf content!
Always informative..you both are beautiful ❤️ with any hair colour
Your new hair color is amazing Amanda! I’d be terrified to do all that on my hair!😱
Looks beautiful Amanda!

So pretty with every colour ❤
Looks great!! I liked your cherry cola hair Amanda ! Thought it was pretty! Love your videos ladies 🩷
I’m facing the red hair consequences right now 😅
Amanda’s hair looks amazing ❤
Best of luck through these difficult times❤️🤣
Hi! I Knew she would eventually go back lighter ❤ it suites her so well!
Ohhhhh I LOVED the cherry cola color! It was MADE for Amanda! I wish I could pull off that color! Personally I love her hair darker but it ain’t my hair lol.

Love the lighter color for sure. Also I think its the cut thats making you feel like your hair is thinner as it took a lot of the bulk off the ends
Love the new color.
So happy Amanda is back to brown! Yay! I did not want to say it before but I think your original colors before the wedding and even going dark for the wedding suited you better. But that's my opinion. You are beautiful no matter what!
I love the darker colors on her. Blonde shades tend to wash her out.
I loved the cherry cola but I have to agree with Amanda and the lack of dimension. Still haven’t found a way to have dimension with dark colors despite loving them
I loved the new color! I think it looks better on her :))
9:47 I felt this!
Looks great 🤩
It’s always nice to change it up once in awhile but Amanda looks best with the lighter brown color. It makes her curls pop more and it is just a more flattering color in my opinion.
I love that cherry cola on Amanda. I would love that color but it’s high maintance and I would only trust Mell to do it 🥲
Stunning 😍
I love the cherry cola color! I wish it didn't take so much care! Her hair looks fabulous ❤
Amanda is gorgeous no matter what but I much prefer the lighter, softer color - when it was first done I thought it looked so solidly heavy, especially with the bangs. 😬 But I always prefer a bit of dimension in curly hair (including my own). Love the direction now!

Your Seaster must really love you. Cause you’d never touch my hair again 😊😊😊!
I’m in Scotland and wondering about these products too! I’ve come across 2 of the brands you mentioned over here 😊
Hi, Mel! Will you be reviewing the Dyson Chitosan hair styling products? I'm super curious about your thoughts!
I wanted red highlights a few years ago and I ended up with hot pink highlights!
I was mortified!
It took hours to tone it down and get it to red!
After that, I would get caramel highlights.
I don't have my hair highlighted anymore because it is very expensive and damaging to my hair!
I love the red, js.
Stunning 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I seriously want to come to u to color my hair!!!
The k18 spray you used is professional, could you please recommend an alternative for non professionals
Mell, in this video, do you just have mousse in your hair? The light soft curls look really good. I'm still experimenting with products.
Amanda looks beautiful in all colors! Let’s be real, you both do! ❤ I’m curious, I have virgin curly hair, 35 years old and have never colored my hair. It’s dark black/brown and tbh I want a change! I mean.... we're little seesters, I feel like it's our job to slightly traumatize the big seester 😂
I have 6 older seesters. I'm not the youngest by far, but I have DEF traumatized the older ones on many occasions!!!
Where do we find what you used? You say some numbers but I don't know what product that is. Thanks.
You gals are so freaking kewt!! ❤
What is you guy's accents?? Like where from. I love! Xx
LOL were canadian!! Italian Canadians in Toronto 🫶
Amanda looks more beautiful without makeup "correcting" here face, to me😊😊😊😊
I would have never applied heat to the process. Color removal creates heat on its own. This is me just 1/3 thru the video, however.
Also I'm a scare-dy cat. Haha😊 Love ya, Mel!
I love the hair. Reminds me of a Latina actress, whose name I can't recall but anyway beautiful.
🤣🤣Mel is so me! I did that to my sisters before especially in beauty school. Also can you tell me the name of the colour remover you used?
I thought the lighter red looked great on Amanda!
The cherry cola was great on Amanda, but I can also understand tho you liked it, it was a moment, not a lasting look you wanna rock long term.
Mell did an amazing job integrating that dimension that defines and highlights curls in such a pleasing way.

Which haircut would go well with natural ashy blond?
How would you achieve her collet correction result if you’re starting off with natural brunette?
That was fun 🥵😊

I missed where you shared the products used
I def miss the cola color.... 🍒
Why does it still look red? Pretty though
Okay no red for me 😭 I don't have a personal stylist to rescue my hair 😅
Much better.
If I could have my cherry cola hair again, it would be in wig form so I could escape the maintenance of it lol
I wish me and my sister could do our hair together or do each other’s hair. She’s just not into hair and wonders why we need to do so damn much to it as black women, lol.
I understand it wasn't the point of the video, but it would have been so cool to see the hair styled after those two initial lifts.
Lighter
I definitely like your hair lighter.
But does she know that the lighter color is not flattering on her?
Apparently she doesn't 🙄
What's with all the little square mics everyone's using in their videos?
I mean, you wanna be able to hear them right?
I didnt think her hair looked in great condition , looked like she needed more moisturizing treatment
2nd, I tried. Lol.
You should have stayed with the red!!
Wow your honey blonde is so beautiful
Thank you!! Very 2024 🥰 ua-cam.com/video/oQAfz-Mz7g0/v-deo.htmlsi=qOsbOhcWmX8D5DLI
