I used to listen to this song with my mom while she was going through Chemo. She really loved it, though it used to give me horrible anxiety.
Once, we were out on a fishing trip together before she got too sick to go anywhere and she begged me to play the song.
I didn’t want to, but what I wanted even less was to upset my mom.
So, I sat there with her as the sun set and listened to this song and held back my tears and my fears like a good son should, so she could be happy.
Now, when I listen to this song, it still hurts, but I’m able to remember that night. The two of us sitting on the edge of a lake, drinking beers that she shouldn’t have even been drinking but that she didn’t care anymore about because she knew that God was calling her home soon… and I know what she was doing. She was giving me one more gift; a precious memory that will never leave me.

Im in high school right now and my school really has bad luck. My class has witnessed 5 kids from our school die in car accidents. Last summer we almost lost 4 more. This song helps me not forget about them. And my lost family members. God bless you Luke Bryan.
My school has been going through the same thing for about the last 8 years. We have lost 13 from our school. And also 8 from other schools around here. 16 of them were car accidents. And in the past 2 months, there has been 4 more accidents. None of them were fatal, but they have been pretty bad and we are all taking it as a sign. This song speaks to me so much. Luke really is amazing.

My dad died November 12 I'm 12 and I was at school when it happened. me and my dad were closer than my mom and I. we live on a farm and there wasn't a moment I wasn't with him. he was a dump truck driver. this was the song played at his funeral. over 100 dump trucks piled into our tiny 200 person town when they stopped at the cemetery the blew their horns for 20 minutes and my dad knew ppl from miles away he knew everyone in our town if you lived in our state you've heard the name "Big Al" . were people blocking up roads and we were out of chairs and people we're standing at the funeral. Thank for this song.

I assumed I came to grips with my brother's death back in October of 2015, but my alarm clock eerily woke me up this morning from the start of this song on what would've been his 55th birthday. It brought both a huge smile and tears to my eyes this morning. Happy Birthday, brother!

Today would have been my grandpa's 97th birthday. He passed 9 years ago (10/6/13). This song was the first song that popped in my head after I found out. I will forever "Drink A Beer" in his honor on his birthday. I have a tattoo inspired by this song in honor of my grandpa. Thank you Luke and Chris. 💜💜

The morning I lost my mom, as soon as I got in the truck to rush to the hospital this song came on. Now every time I hear it, I think of her and can’t help but tear up. Our favorite place was the pier in Huron Ohio. Every time something big happens in my life this song pops up on the radio.

My dad passed away today in his sleep. He was a good man, a great father, and an even better grandpa. He will be forever missed by all of us, but especially his two grandchildren. Time goes by so fast. I would do anything for one more conversation with him. I love you Dad!

This was my dad and my favorite country singer and I remember the day I got told that he had cancer and then the next day he died and I had this song on repeat for a month because I still didn’t want to Amit it because I knew he was a fighter and I knew that he could beat cancer but it was too late and I still cry about him dying and I didn’t want him to die

But then life starts catching up...maybe it's grandparents...or pets...but you start realizing just how short life really is. Take it from this old man...cherish your youth because it'll be gone before you know it...
I knew my buddy Keith since we were young bucks. It was IMPOSSIBLE to be in a bad mood around him. I could be having the worst day and run into him and he would go into his Randy "Macho Man" Savage routine and have the whole place laughing to tears. He could pick up a guitar or get on drums and play along to damn near anything. It was always a good time around him...
He was in the hospital and I didn't realize just how bad of shape he was in. Kept meaning to go see him...but you know how life gets in the way..."Tomorrow" or "I'm just too tired"...I guess I waited too long.
R.I.P. Brother Keith...we're all down here missing you and I sure as hell wish I could hang out just one more time.

In January six years ago, my grandpa on my mom's side died. I never met my maternal grandma because she died when my mom was pregnant with my brother that is 12 years older than me. 2 years ago, one of my neighbors that I would help passed away and that hit me really hard. Last year, we had to put the family dog down, and last October I got really sick for 2 months, but when I got out my neighbor knew I would want to see her, so she came across the street to see me, and about 2 months later, I asked her husband where she was cause I hadn't seen her in a few days, they said she was in the hospital and 3 days later, she had passed away, so that really hit me harder than anything. A few days ago my dad's cousin passed away and they had the funeral today

I look back on times that I dreaded going to family functions and now I would do ANYTHING to have just one more day with my relatives. I always try to tell young people to cherish what you have because one day it's all gonna be gone and you may end up like me...alone in the world.
