After a morning hike to the Susquehanna High Point I rallied with friends and we headed to the Wayne County high point. A big thank you to Ned Lang for granting us permission to access his land to the high point. I was joined by Ashley and Shelby (and her son) of the Northern Tier Hardwoods association and Marc Lewis (and his dog Silva). At the top of Mount Ararat we found the top of the mountain to be absent of trees. The high point was rather flat and made for an ideal field where the landowner has created food plots for wildlife. His efforts have worked. When I climbed a Red Oak near the high point I noticed claw marks in the bark of the tree left by a black bear. I was not the first to climb the highest tree in Wayne County PA!
