If you’re a foreigner visiting the Philippines, never take a taxi from the airport; always book a Grab car instead. You can buy a SIM card for your phone at the airport, and while you’re at it, feel free to ask any questions. Believe me, the staff will be more than happy to help, as they likely get asked the same questions every day.
new subscriber, im from california, mexican american and i always ask the guys " whats the last final price, i know the real price " i usually talk to them like im a local
There is a Grab booth that is just outside the departure doors. That is what I use you just give the person at the Grab booth the address of your hotel and they will give you a confirmed price. I never use the taxies outside the airport.
320php is actually too low, unrealistic price - but the taxi guy said you can go by meter (just before you declined them) which would be around 400 or so airport to Makati. Everyone gets screwed their first time in most countries.
320 is something he offered himself and I'm sure with indrive you could drive for that. I had 350 on Grab app and i showed him so he offered me 320, so I was like okay why not.
Currently in the PH for the first time and I understand your frustration with trying to not only obtain a sim card but also go through the process of registration. The PH govt makes it so unnecessarily difficult to get a sim card. On top of that, the main service providers Globe and Smart have such weird and misleading nomenclature for their prepaid options.
Stay away from Manila if youre a tourist and not street smart. Just visit BGC, Makati, Boracay, Palawan, Dumaguete to have way more fun and be safer at the same time. Travel to have fun but dont take much risks.

It's honestly embarrassing how most taxi drivers are a total scam these days. Like, can we talk about how every time I hop in one, it feels like I'm signing up to be robbed? And seriously, preying on foreigners? That's just low. It’s like, come on-have some decency! It’s pathetic, and it's time someone called it out!
Taxis literally ruining the reputation of our country straight out of the doorstep! Take Grab, or for cheaper options, scooter alternatives - Angkas or Move It.
Yeah kinda does, I should've just booked another grab after I couldn't find the first one. Would have made things more simpler I feel😁 Many countries have issues with this so I guess general public is aware of it.
It's unfortunate that you encounter such unpleasant experience from the airport. As tourist to a foreign land you have to prepare your travel itinerary, and in the airport there so many airport taxi that will bring you to your hotel/destination. There are information desk in the airport that will lead you to the airport taxi bay, WIfi is also available in the airport , i do hope your tour stay in the country will be much better experience...
I mean it was huge learning experience, i would probably do many things differently now. It was just a bit unlucky, as I couldn't find my grab I ordered with airport wifi right away. I walked around there looking all cars and nothing... If i got on grab right away it would have been super smooth. But because I had problem with grab I gave this guy a chance, as I thought maybe he drives his personal car and makes some extra money... But yeah, it was just a simple taxi scam...anyway I learned a lot, next time will be smoother👌🏼😊
@@Gymson I had a similar experience in Thailand, except it was a girl that led me away, then when I got to the car it was her "boyfriend" that was the driver. Still scary tho, till I got to the hotel. Not sure I would roll the dice again.

Taxis are expensive if they run by meter. Thats why I was only willing to go on one if they gave me price upfront. Yes i know internet available and sim available, but usually in airport everything is charged tourist price, same with currency exchange. I don't play victim, I just got a bit unlucky.. if i find the grab car that I ordered it would have been smooth arrival. Just a bit unlucky, I would do things differently now honestly. I learned a lot, i should've just ordered another grab as first grab car for some reason was not where he said he was...

Oh cool😁
500 is cheap to go to Makati especially today in a taxi. I used to travel their multiple times from 2004-2008
Okay cool, grab is good for saving then it was about 350👍🏼
I just watching you and now your here
😁what do you mean?
Taxi scamer
Yeah😒
Yesim brother use it unlimited data
Oh, how much is that
REALITY OF FILIPINO CULTURE
"TAKE AVANTAGE"
Oeh not really, it's just some parts of Manila..
@Gymson IN GENERAL, ALL PEOPLE ARE HOSPITABLE IF THERE IS SOMETHING TO GAIN. THIS IS THE REALITY, WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.
IF YOY FIND ONE THAT IS GENUINE, IT COMES FROM OUR LORD.
you should try grab or moveit bro
I did use grab right away, but i got a bit unlucky because somhow I can't find my taxi
I feel bad for you brother, 😞
It's okay, taxi drivers in many countries are shady. 😊
Barbers cut is good
Haha yeah and cheap
e sim
@@jameszone-h8781 yeah, that would have been useful too
Ols xareful not all oilipino its good ok ..tje cre urself and put ur mobile in ur pocket plsss sir thank u
Thanks for care🤗
I feel bad for you lol keep taking video when getting a tricycle, jeepney or taxi since you are foreigner one of them will ripped you off and for sure that vid will going viral lol
Thank you! But it is okay, as tourist you are ready for it, it's easier to take advantage of tourist than local people as we have no idea about the prices. Appreciate you support 🤗
Bro 320 pesos its already cheap airport to makati that's only $5 in your country. did you see the trapic? did you feel it how hard they work... this channel he just wanna make it viral the video now my question is WHO IS SCAMMER NOW?
Did you even watch the video?
@@Gymson avoid this vlogger trynna make it viral his video.
hi buy E-sim, to move Grab it's simple
Yeah, would have been so much better..for Philippines getting e-sim would have saved my a lot of headache :D
I just got the cheapest sim at the airport, worked immediately, it was only slightly more expensive than the deals they advertise to locals, i then later topped it up for for the same price as locals.
@@kirk3intokyo wow, yeah. Like later on I was thinking it would have been worthwhile to get it done in airport. I would also recommend getting it sorted in airport now. Even if you pay double or even triple😁
@@kirk3intokyo my experience of doing it 7/11 was not pleasant 😁 it took so long and i even had problems with load, not working.. even though they helped me do it in shop. Something jinxed with simcard for me😁
@@Gymson I just checked because I still had the globe app on my phone, it's all in English and now it seems they give 2 choices buy local esim or esim for visitors... Think I'll do esim next time while waiting for the plane next time, probably cheaper than the airport, Definitely the way forward.
Don't be one of the stupid budget backpackers who rely on hostel WiFi. Get yourself a sim card with data and avoid all this nonsense....
I usually don't stay in hostels. I do have data plan usually, but I also do need to use other internet to upload stuff and so on
Pelepens Nambawan
I don't understand 😊
@@Gymson Sorry , its actually a sarcastic way that Philippines is number one but really, its a nightmare living here. No true benefits from the government, worst transportation system, worst internet services, lots of people trying to take advantage, there might be few good things but its a ration of 1:10 and 10 being worst.
Just curious how much you paid for the taxi and hotel? Be careful over there. Be very cautious.
I ended up getting grab, some random guy booked it for me. I think 300-400 pesos
@@Gymson Well, I am not sure how far or close the airport to your hotel is but 300 - 400 is not too bad. Just be very cautious out there. Maybe you can use Grab next time. Good luck!
@@Gymson so all the drama saved you100.
@@CaptureLife hahaha, yeah. After what i went through I highly recommend paying that extra 100😁😁😁
@@CaptureLife first time in Philippines, in Thailand for example getting sim is a lot smoother process. Just go 7/11 and they do everything for you. But in Philippines it's a bit different so yeah, getting it done at airport is definitely recommended 😊👍🏼
Why you youtubers always want everything for cheap? Fix that you have enough money when going to another country and if you dont have enough then dont go! Im a dutch guy living for one year now in Manilla and never had any problem here. Maybe I got scammed sometimes for 100 pesos. But for real.. 100 pesos is nothing bro.
I just don't like to get scammed. That's all
Watching this noob is painful
😁
First time in Philippines and u trust him silly
😊😊
@Gymson I been to Philippines 5 times don't trust anyone in airport
There are many taxis outside the airport, don't know why you haven't got one. There's an internet sim available inside the airport too. Playing victim? 😂 Wag kami lokohin mo. Lumayas ka hindi namin kailangan ang katulad mo.
Dont mind him gymson he a troll
@@Gymson he trolling bro
@@toohazy999 oh okay, thanks 😊😊
@@showtimeggs oh I see, thanks for letting me know😊
These scammers are in every country ouside the aport😂. Your title no hot . You should change 😂😂😂
Well, just trying to let people know who could end up in similar situation. Can't trust those guys who give you the price over there, they don't stick to their words.
