      Found out how. You pull your fingers on every other note so that you would hit once, on the rebound pull, and hit two notes with one swing.

    Matt, you're an inspiration...only been subscribed and watching your covers for a few months now but whenever I watch you I get so pumped to get on my kit. Please can you explain how to practice the push pull technique & is it similar to the way you do a double stroke roll?

    The Gladstone and Moeller technique can help get you to this point. Although its gonna be a lot of tediously playing slow to get you up to his speed and consistency. Great job man, really impressive control and technique

    How much are you relying on the rebound on the surface? Could you do this on a floor Tom? What about a concert bass drum. What are the limitations to this technique.

  • @galilaio22
    @galilaio22 11 років тому

    If you try working your left hand the same, "ghost notes" are a breeze. If you try using this technique with flamadiddles and paradiddles, the fluidity increases. Good video over all though! Have a try at the two-two with paradiddles as hitting two notes with one hand then switching over to the other; left, left, right, right, left, left, right, right, left right, left, right. Then initiate with the other hand. I can get up to 192 bpm.

    does that work well on a set? i've seen his lane boy 21P cover and he uses it for hi hat, but there's way less rebound on a hi hat as opposed to a rubber pad.
