This is something that all should be doing rather than teaching bits and pieces (verse, chorus, bridge etc) of the song and leaving out getting to play the whole thing. This way we know exactly how to put the pieces together.

I used to tell my students to practice chord changes in the dark to get used to where they are on the guitar. I got a lot of weird looks from that lol.
