If I or someone else hasn't already said this; you are #1 a talented guitar player, #2 an excellent teacher, with encouraging words for newer players and helpful tips and finally #3 the "play along" puts you clearly in the lead for best on youtube. This is something that all should be doing rather than teaching bits and pieces (verse, chorus, bridge etc) of the song and leaving out getting to play the whole thing. This way we know exactly how to put the pieces together.

Thank you Clinnyboy - that is absolutely the whole point of this whole thing and I am very grateful to you for articulating it. Thanks for being here and taking the time to comment - hugely appreciated! Shane

You are that kind of teacher who takes his students with you , because they can’t help , all they want to be is right by your side , to play what you are playing. Awesome !

Great lesson, Shane. There are lots of great guitar players on UA-cam, but not that many are great teachers. You are. Just the right amount of explanation, good clear demonstrations showing us exactly what you're doing, and then the opportunity to play along with what you have just shown us. Your manner is also easy going and unstressful. Nothing but high marks from me.

Can't wait to try this. I don't know about others, but I like to watch it a couple of times before even touching my guitar. Just now, I was doing dinner dishes, rocking out and getting psyched to try it. My wife started singing as well as this is an anthem from our youth. Thanks again, SS.

Thank you Doc - always happy to hear from you. I think it's a great idea to watch the whole thing through at first with no guitar to get a sense of the pacing etc. Great to have you here with us!

@@GuitarAtWork really am thanks. Makes me wish we had UA-cam when we were just starting. Picked up the guitar again during the first Lockdown after abt 15 years and haven't looked back. Still as rusty as an old gate post tho lol, but these really make progress fast and feels like I actually accomplish something. Take care Sir

Hi Shane. I love your lessons. How do u hold your pick? Seems like I remember a video where you hold it and use the opposite end.

I was wondering if you would think about teaching the song "Colorado" by Linda Ronstadt? Thank you for your tutorials they help a student like me.

I used to tell my students to practice chord changes in the dark to get used to where they are on the guitar. I got a lot of weird looks from that lol.
