Betrayed by Muna Osman | Voices to End Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting

In this gripping story, Muna reveals that she has not until now spoken in detail about the day she was cut. She describes being held down by four women at the age of eight, remembering the searing pain of the razor, and seeing her mother’s cold face looking on from across the room. Muna’s sense of being betrayed has stayed with her; to this day, she has difficulty trusting the people closest to her.
