Bravo. Beautiful song that has aced the test of time, performed by brilliantly trained singers. Thank you.
Great chanting, amazing acoustics in a beautiful location. Well done everyone.
60 years of hearing this so far and it still I feel tears.
Thank you Paul Simon for composing one of the best songs and when sung in Gregorian it lights up the soul
This song lends itself to a variety of genres and styles. This is a great version, especially with the video.
Straight to the soul. No more to say.
Heartbreaking breaking beautiful and magnificent rendition of a wonderful piece of music
I don't see mention of how beautifully the Gregorian Monks performed. Thank you to them for this performance. Absolutely beautiful.
@@niravagulabobeth3956, perhaps you might want to look into why men and women in some religions choose to remain chaste. It’s their choice, and they do it for God.
Oh, that's an Choir of professional Musicans.
No Monks.🤷♀️
They're not Monks
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregorian_(band)
These singers are not monks, but trained singers, some of whom are choir singers. Two of the group are females, including the member who puts the particular arrangements together for the group.
beautiful words sung in a beautiful locale
The words are deeply moving and perceptive. The genius of S&G.
This rendition is my all time favourite version of the song. Thank you

Simplesmente DIVINO
🙌🇧🇷🙏🇧🇷🙌
Hauntingly beautiful and very evocative ❤
Thank you so much for that wonderful rendition
I would like to hear it without accompaniment - those voice are magnificent enough not to require any backing.
I have this CD compilation. I absolutely love it
Just close your eyes and listen. Truly beautiful. God bless the monks for sharing this with us.
Beautifully sung. Thankyou for a new and different way of hearing this song.
while I like this song in many of its variations , this one is more true to Simon and Garfunkel's original. This was an anti-war song that asked us to look inside and find an end, or else we would end
My favorite Gregorian song .................. an inmense hug of light from Perú 💋💋💋💋💋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹⚡☀️🌈😎👍...
Angelic singing ❤️ thank you! 🙏🙏

Beautiful! ❤
❤ Beautiful ❤
That was beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful!
This very beautiful song by Simon and Garfunfunkel has nothing to do with Gregorian chant; neither from today nor from the distant past! But the harmonization is splendid and highlights the musical sense of its composers.
I think you’re missing the point. Unfortunate but hopefully you enjoyed nonetheless.
C'est beau, but it is not gegorian song.
I have always loved this song. You did an amazing job with it, and the acoustics were fantastic!
Etwas für s' Herzen, sehr ergreifende!!
So Prophetic - I needed tears
Beautiful ❤
😮❤ Phenomenally done - thank you for sharing this gift with us! ❤❤
Beautiful!!! Thank You!!!
Fantastycznie. Brawo ❤
Lindo 😍🙏
An amazing song! 👏 Unfortunately, this version is for me too fast.
One of my favourite songs, but as a massive S&G fan, the original version remains the best! Enjoyed this rendition though!
Lovely
Superstars Simon & Garfunkel
Nagyon szép zene. ❤❤❤
Buonissimo!
!HERMOSÍSIMO.....!
I don't thàt this Song has anything to do. By being catholic. It Is a wonderful poem. ❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
In the first place? This song is genius. It needs to be sung, not whispered...listen to the Pentatonix rendition and also the rendition of 'Mary did you know?' that they do they sing it out loud
Interesting rendition
This song reminds me of the darkness of modern society compared to God who tries to reach us.
Beautiful performance!! Would have been more effective a capella
My parrot likes this too.
❤❤❤❤

Sounds ok, but need to show more of the church architecture and that organ. That cathedral was built in the 1300s, and is one of the most beautiful examples of Church architecture in the world. Not sure, even today, man can build anything to equal or compare. And even if I am considered a non-believe in religions, I am a true believer in man's ability to build beautiful buildings.
Sorry, but I do not share the admiration of this "arangement" and choreography of the Sound of Silence...
Especially the end of the video felt like demonic cult ceremony...
I missed the pure gentle voice and ❤synergy of the two top "pop-musicians," Simon & Garfunkel - that have always touched me again and again...
With respect & love,

Ábreme esa puerta rrapido seño
Mind: BLOWN. Thank you for this!
This rendition proves what amazing artists Simon & Garfunkel were in the first place.
You have no idea how right you are ❤ In many way’s musical groups back then were ahead of their times………….
So true! Also, check out the Pentatonix version. It’s breathtaking
@@VaveeDances Isn't it just?
I started to listen to it really quite offended at what they'd done to it, but by the time it ended I felt changed.
Absolutely true
yes. many years since I heard this, gut I would prefer to listen to the original, this is crap
Stunning
This is definitely one of the most beautiful renditions of this song that I have ever heard. Those in the choir are all wonderfully talented and were a joy to listen to. I don't know if anyone else felt the same way, but the setting seemed to give the song a whole new meaning that brought me near tears.
Have you heard Disturb's cover? Its hauntingly beautiful, usually makes me cry tbh
Yes, I have. It's one of favorite covers.@@KeatrithAmakiir
Near?
And Tom Balls rendition of the sound of silence is the best but that Gregorian version is mighty wonderful too..
Solemnity! 💝 Pure Love…🥰🦋
It takes a particular genius to marry a pop song to the glories of a place dedicated to worship: but the majestic Gregorian choir masterfully exceeded all expectations.
Beautiful performance! More of this please.

Try marrying a religious song to a metal singer. It will surprise you ua-cam.com/video/89g9yMGFGlM/v-deo.htmlsi=N795w9qxeQa1U1jW

Beautiful rendition. The magic of music is spell binding

IN A NOISY WORLD ALWAYS WINS THE SOUND OF SILENCE
this song is about how bad silence can be.. when people need to speak up, but refuse and pretend like nothing.
way too short ....a song this good needs to be longer, like pinkfloyd songs. why are they afraid of a longer song? super lame

Underrated comment

60 years old and this beautiful Paul Simon song is more beautiful than ever.
Uma benção pro corpo ,mente e espírito 🙏
I had no idea it was that old until I checked! Amazing!! It still resonates today.
I agree with you Cynthia Disturbed did a fantastic version of this song. They both give me the chills when I hear them.
Check out Dan Vasc....another great version!
❤ein tolles Lied ich liebe es❤
I have a deep respect for Art Garfunkel, once a Columbia student, he published his works and captivated the world with his unique songs.
I thought The Sound of Silence was written by Paul Simon
Paul Simon wrote The Sound of Silence and it was released in 1964 on their album 'Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.'
That’s what I said / thought
The most beautiful song ever written imo, thank you Simon and Garfunkel and thank you to the performers.
You may be right 😊

Gracias gracias gracias!!!!!
Goosebumps from head to too, beautiful singing ❤
Everyone needs some silence in their life. Love the harmony.❤
This rendition of "The Sound of Silence just fantastic, love it.
A timeless song that resonates with every generation and will continue to resonate with every generation far into the future, until humanity fades.
Why? Because it speaks to loneliness, isolation, and that deep desire to just scream out to someone. But you can't because no one is there and no one is listening.
To me this song is the silencing of voices praising GOD
People listening without hearing.
Again and again.
Fantastic heavenly voices.
thanks for sharing
Except it's the exact opposite. ( 1:33) People hearing without listening. It's easy to hear, but difficult to listen.
One of my favorite songs as a child. I'm well more than an adult now and still love it!❤❤❤
Have you heard the Emma and Husky version? Rockwiz Australia!
This rendition of SOS is so good it's almost painful! Made my throat ache!
Absolutely beautiful - this made Simon & Garfunkel proud, I love to listen to Gregorian music. 🎼🎶 It’s spiritual! 🙏🏼
This version might not be to everyone's taste, but I love it.
A beautiful rendition of this masterpiece by Simon and Garfunkel
A classic from the 1960's.
