The Chef on the front of Chef Boyardee was a real person. His name was actually Boiardi, and he became well known for making up meal kits during World War 2 and putting them into army food packages. Eventually he made a business of it, and he spelled his name Boyardee on the can so that people could pronounce it.

Fun fact #4: The HeadOn commercial was so annoying that the Sunday comic strip "Mother Goose & Grimm" dedicated a week's strip to it, just ending with the character throwing his TV out the window and concluding, "HeadOn, apply directly to the sidewalk." I still remember that to this day only because it was so relatable. That commercial is irritating as all hell.

The last Geico commercial is actually an homage to a 1980s MCI or AT&T long distance commercial.
In Oklahoma, where I’m from, starting on Black Friday the jewelry company BC Clark starts their annual “anniversary sale” jingle commercials. Sometimes the company will hold contests across the state via tv or radio where they’ll stop people out shopping and ask if they can sing the entire jingle. There used to be a commercial by the “Mile of Cars” car dealership association in Norman, Oklahoma that had a catchy jingle that mostly repeated the city’s name. I happened to have moved to the city around that time and the native citizens were less than pleased when visitors would sing it (although if you went to any of the dealerships they loved that you recognized it).
When I was in elementary school Mathis Brothers Furniture had numerous commercials. None were memorable, but every ad they say their address 3434 W Reno and even in the few jingles they had it was mostly just the singing or saying of the address. Nearby Bob Mills Furniture is best known for saying “shopper stalkers” referring to sales people that follow you around trying to sell you (“At Bob Mills there’s no shopper stalkers so you can look around without any hassle”) and the slogan “The Working Man’s Friend”. So as kids if someone said something about the working man you’d utter “Bob Mills, the working man’s friend” or more cryptically “Bob Mills”.
KWTV had an ad that had early Reba McEntire called The Spirit of Oklahoma where she sang that station’s theme song....which all kids in school knew (just like KFOR’s “it’s 5/6/10 o’clock do you know where your children are” saying at the start of their respective news programs that us kids always made fun of). I seem to remember local commercials more than national ones just because they’re usually shown a lot during prime time network tv and I watched that a lot as a kid, especially Saturday morning cartoons.
The beef it’s what’s for dinner commercials were national I think. I remember learning the actual classical song in band and all of is in the band couldn’t help but saying “beef it’s what’s for dinner” at the end of it. Lol
You mention Alex Mack. That was indeed a show on Nickelodeon in the 1990s.
Love this video! It was fun seeing so many of these commercials again. And while some of them weren’t for exact places around where I grew up, there were similar businesses who had similar ads so I could definitely relate!
