You remembered so much! Especially since I just crashed course you on a slip seat after the arm chair. I would use upholstery weight fabric but I loved that you used something from the thrift store and the plaid was so good. FaceTime me next time! I’m glad you remembered a ‘y’ cut but you would have more use of it going around support posts in chairs than on a corner 😘 it also looked like you kept the foam bigger than the wood, you went front to back and side to side, worked from the inside out, and only stapled where you were holding it so I’m impressed with everything you retained 🙌🏻
You’re the best!!! 🙌
I feel like somebody will be so happy to find this cute little chair for their home! Maybe it’s just the right price to fit their budget 😊
I thought it turned out nice. Definitely would work well as a desk chair.
The chair turned out really nice Abby! Well done! It was so nice of you to donate it!
You done a great job.!!!
You can use comforters or stuffed blankets to upholster smaller pieces. Don‘t try to take it out of the covering. Cut it to size and staple it on. Than put a piece of linig ( e.g. an old bed linen) over it and staple it in place. Finally put your chosen material on. You can use dress curtains, bed linens, duvet covers and pillow cases. But the stuffing of pillows is usually just ripped up pieces, good for stuffing, less for upholstry.
I think you did a great job hon! The chair is very cute and I love how you staged it! In my opinion you did a really great job! I love your personality and creativity! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I really admire your ability to make a decision when you are uncertain. You’ve said before that in order to learn, we just have to act. You demonstrate this in your videos. ❤
Using a plaid was a bold choice for your first chair! I think the chair looks good, & is definitely worth more than you paid!
Free memory foam mattresses, if you take it out of the covering, you will realize it's not dirty, but clean, unless it was soaking in mud.
Came out cute, definitely worth more than what they’ve priced it at. But you learned a lot and got an instructional video out of it so we all learned something. Win win
Sometimes it may take more than one coat when staining. I am in the process of redoing a dining room table, and after every attempt to get a lil spot removed in the leaf, I just decided to use a black stain from Minwax, it took 3 coats for it to finally get dark. I love all your pieces, you are very talented. I’d love to send pics of my table. I painted the base a dark hunter like green from Fusion, I’m also redoing a big gun cabinet into a coffee bar to match, hopefully it works out.
It looks 100% better you did a great job ❤
The chair looks great!
Every project we learn. You worked so hard and never gave up!
As for the cushion part of the chair I’ve seen some repurpose a used chair cushion from thrift store and cut it to the size you need. Just an idea.
Love the sander attachment. Thanks so much.
I should’ve added then use the batting from the used cushion and reupholster.
I thought your chair looked really great ❤! But I enjoyed watching your little experiment at the end 😅
I think it turned out really cute! Yes there were some lumps and bumps along the way but honestly it is very cute!
I think it looks great, love the staging. I've been experimenting with mixing about 20% paint with 80% topcoat in my sprayer to tone. It takes 2 or 3 light coats, and can darken a "too bright" paint color and also adjust a orangey stain finish. "Flap sander" attachments to a dremel are my next experiment, particularly on small detail areas. They are miniature size versions of the mop sander and easier to control with a small rotary tool.
I use the foam from outdoor couch and chair cushions. Of course make sure there isnt mold but mine came out great! Esp when its the super thick foam. Even so you could layer thinner foam. Cute chair!
I was just watching The Wood Whisperer and he said you should store your flammable things like stain in a metal Cabinet for safety purposes. Just thought I would share so you can be safe. Love your flips BTW!
Adorable & skillfull!! 🥰
You can reuse the pillow stuffing by making a pillowcase and re fluffing and stuffing it. Id wash I in the machine and dry with a sneaker.
Foam mattress topper is 1-2 inch thick. Good amount of material for less than $20
You made the cushion so much harder than it needed to be. It is not as difficult as you made it! Lol
You can take the old cotton off and put it over the pillow stuffing, and then it wouldn't look so bunchy.
Hi Abby,
It was so very nice of you to show the viewer how to fold the Wagner tent.
I know you are trying hard to make this project work. However, I couldn’t believe you went through all the trouble of sanding off the chair completely, just to add stain. Next time go with your gut feeling.
I liked that you went with new foam and cover materials. However, too many staples!
The bottom of the chair should look professionally done as well.
I know it was for practice, but people look under the chair at the upholstery finish.
I enjoyed the Fall display setting for the chair pictures! Great job!

I softened the tone of my comments!
I actually enjoy Abby’s content and always watch her videos.
I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings.
I will continue watching Abby’s UA-cam channel.
@@ingeborgbryce4197Your comment was just fine- you are right- people do look under the cushions at the upholstery job & yes less staples but it was still fun to see her try 👍
I think it was so cute.

Got it! Thanks.
Thanks so much! I went ahead and got their gold membership for an extra $9. So excited to start learning.
Very awesome, Abby!!
I used a memory foam pillow form
Cream colored fabric with some texture would make it look more high end.
This is just my opinion. I thought the chair was really nice, especially after you stained it. I wish you had chosen a fabric that would have looked better with the stain, although after you painted it black and used the fabric you had, it still looked good. You did good on the uphostery job.
Lol hilarious ending
I think you did great😄
😩😩 I wish you would’ve just left it raw and sealed it. That would’ve looked so good with that black plaid. It still turned out pretty, but I liked the original finish right after sanding.
Ok so, furniture fails are ok too 😂 ❤ 😊
Hi Abby 😊
Always happy to watch furniture flips. ❤
Looks good to me. Are you sponsored by Hart yet?:) Can't go wrong with black!
I never donate to goodwill. They refuse to help those in need, and when officers have gone in to see if they’d donate shoes to children in need, they refused.
We need to take up a donation for staples for you! Hahaha I loved the light blonde wood so much. I'd left it and just clear non yellowing poly would have been on point. It has beautiful wood grain. Shirt material looked faded. Not my favorite video of yours
Abby - would you please post a link or info for the rolling stool you use? I’m very interested in acquiring one like it. Thank you! ❤
Single chairs tend to be worth much less than sets of chairs. What would you do with that chair? Usually small chairs like that are priced below $10 unless they are rocking chairs. Look at it this way. The practice items are cheap.
Hmm. I’m thinking it was just too dark overall. Bet it would’ve been priced at 9.99 if the wood had been stained brown vice black. You might make some $$$ doing ottomans in the future.
Great job Abby on the chair renovation project!
I tried to get $1.49 year membership but it’s asking for a code :(
I used the link in your comments! Thats so cool!!
Girl!!! It’s so awesome
❤
Where did you get your flutter mop sander?
Links in the description, the flutter mop sandpaper is from Walmart
This is such a fun idea!
Thank you ❤
So....what was the price tag on the chair??? You didn't say & I couldn't read the tag.
Yes the color IS ugly! I loved it at first with its natural, non-orange oak color! At no point did it look orange!
Seriously the chair was ok before you stained , psinted, you shouldve left the chair alone
I'm not sure why you're nervous. There are tons of videos on UA-cam that show you how to do this.
