Wow - those drawers are amazing! But I could go on - everything else looks incredible too. I love that she was able to design & work with you on her own room. She will appreciate that forever.
What a project., design and engineering coming together to create an amazing room. Lily will not only love it, but she will also proudly remember how she contributed to the project. I'll bet she even takes better care of her room as a result of her labors. (One can dream). DIY Princesses.
I know the antiqued avocado green! My mom painted my sisters' used bedroom dressers that color in 1970. It's nice that Lilly wanted to learn some of what you do. That drawer stack is incredible and the wall treatment turned out very nice.
The room turned out really well, perfect for a pre-teen. I like the closet, tons of storage in the custom drawer unit, it looks good. Hope you show the room again with the window treatments and night stand lamps. The desk was a good remake, it's a solid piece, lots of drawers. Not a fan of the ceiling - although it looks cool and fun to have, my issue is cleaning it and thinking it would collect dust. Your daughter is a very pretty girl; it was nice to see her take an interest in designing her room and your building/remodeling interests. Nicely done - Mom & Daughter!!!.
Thank you!! The windows have motorized blinds as window treatments. She isn’t planning to have bedside lamps, she mostly likes her fairy lights on and when she’s doing work she sits at the desk with the LED bright light on. 🙂
@@WelcometotheWoodsBlog - Oh. the blinds aren't visible in the video, thought that maybe treatments were on order or not installed. Guess, I'm old school, thinking that night stands should have lamps, ha ha ha.
Beautiful work, I love to see you passing on your diy skills to your daughter. My granddaughter Gracie loves to be out in the shop with me, I treasure that time. Dan
Instead of hooks, consider a shaker peg rail. You can add a second one lower down for bags and hats and the upper one for coats. We also add a board on top of the upper one to use as shelf.
Good work Lily! Wow awesome project. Thank you for another inspiring video. You have helped me so much… tho I haven’t been able to start yet. I’m saving your videos and loving your ideas. So impressive!
For the painted over flathead screws, You can use a razor blade to cut the paint. After cutting, you should be able to scrap the paint out of the slot. Be careful to avoid gouging the wood.
"Cheese Grater" the Bondo as soon as it sets up "Firm". Before it gets rock hard. Automotive Shops sell a Bondo Grater. Don't wait too long, time makes it get hard as a rock.
OMG my bf is the same, he never hangs anything! Also, he would rather keep his clothes folded on the bedroom than walk through the bathroom to our closet. So, I’m building him a wardrobe in the bedroom with just shelves & hooks! But hold crap do people get upset at it! I’d rather build something that suits both of our lives than be upset that they don’t do things the way I want to do it.
So actually I bought cheap flat pack nightstands from Target (go.sylikes.com/eNy0mu2x05nU) and added metal 6” legs (amzn.to/4ghEfGO) as well as leftover handles from the pack I bought for her closet drawers. This was easy and leveled them up sooo much! I just didn’t film that part :)

Your kiddos are very blessed to have you as a mom.
I love the new closet space. Lilly sure is an artistic styler, she's going to have lots of fun in her new room.
As soon as I got finished shots she started decorating it for Christmas lol 🥰
You are so talented, and it’s awesome that you are teaching Lily.

Awesome job as per usual, Melissa. You are a great mom and DIY'er. Keep the videos coming.
"Not at all creepy" is our goal for every home reno! Great job, team! ❤👏🥳

Creative and talented!
The creativity here is insane! Well done. Can't wait for the next project.
Thank you!
Beautifully done and decorated❤
Another amazing project. You two are a great team.
Those drawers are fantastic and I think that was an amazing choice, people are silly if she needs a rod in the future that’s a few minutes to install
I agree!
The supermum strikes again!
Amazing Job as per usual, your children are seriously lucky to have a mum like you, the room looks amazing!
Thank you!

like mother like daughter! beautiful makeover.
7:47 EVERYTIME I screw in a bulb & go to flip the switch I stupidly stare DIRECTLY AT the bulb. I’m so glad I’m not the only one 🤣😂😅🤩😵💫
Hahah did you see my crazy eyes?!
@ I did, I do the same… without fail. I was even doing it in your video. Staring straight at the bulb… luckily not the same effect 😂🤣😅
Awesome!
Fantastic job! Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻
Good work Lily!
Wow awesome project. Thank you for another inspiring video. You have helped me so much… tho I haven’t been able to start yet. I’m saving your videos and loving your ideas.

Gorgeous
The paint job on the green desk is called, "antiquing." It was popular in the 1970s.
For the painted over flathead screws, You can use a razor blade to cut the paint. After cutting, you should be able to scrap the paint out of the slot. Be careful to avoid gouging the wood.
That might have been faster! Thanks for the tip
Lilly is so pretty. She looks just like you!❤
Aw thank you 😊

Wow- your daughter is your mini-me! Looks just like her mother.
I think so too lol
Wow 😂here I was thinking it was your little sister!! 😂❤ 😅😮
Great job!!!!!
A really sweet video.
You can build the wall in two parts to get them into the room, then bolt them together once installed.
Oo I didn't think to do that, thanks!

Totally! My husband never hangs stuff either. It isn’t fast enough for him lol.
Lily looks so much like you! 😊
Haha I think so too, thanks!
OUTSTANDING ; o ......
Nice video
You are something else
Her room looks so good. Where did you get her nightstands? Your daughter is talented just like her mom.

❤❤❤❤❤
🎉
Hey, tell you husband I have a laptop stand like his 😁
Haha will do
spray paint should not be done anywhere near vinyl fences.... a lesson that I learned the hard way... :)
I actually didn't get any overspray on the fence, I was far enough away.
How sweet!! I just did my dorm room makeover would appreciate if you guys check it too ❤
