    Hi I found your videos today I'm a retired farmer from South bend Indiana . I'm 76 years old I sold (give ) my three sons a there family the responsibility to run the business . I do odd things around the farm . I restored a 1959 830 rice Johnny popped with a 1966 227 corn picker. Remember Safety is number one on your farm.

    I think it is awesome that your sister drives the combines. I don't know that many ladies working/driving farm equipment.
    Driving combines has always been my favorite thing to do so that is why I was always put on grain cart. 😂

      I appreciate it! We have been working together for a long time, and some of us a lot longer than others. We have a process that works well for us, but may not work elsewhere.

    It doesn’t matter who is running what. What really matters is everyone working together and getting the crop to market.

    we have a 9560r and it was doing burn off/regen 2 twice a day pulling our seeder. got it fixed last winter, not sure what it was but wasn't very cheap

    • @aTrippyFarmer
      @aTrippyFarmer  3 роки тому

      It isn’t as much of an issue when we’re working ground, because it is always running near 100%. The slow grain cart days don’t provide many opportunities for cleaning.

      aTrippyFarmer the tractor was probably at 90% power on flat land with a chip on it. We tried without a chip on it and no difference with the burn off but we had more power. A case quadtrac will fix your problems too

    • @aTrippyFarmer
      @aTrippyFarmer  4 роки тому

      Tom Preiss nooo not necessarily! You’d have to be conscious of infrastructure and operational costs which is sometimes overlooked in farming. Corn is much easier to dry down than soybeans. Very, very rarely will you ever hear talk of drying soybeans-they will just blend them in with dry beans.

    You keep complaining about Keen work boots. Did you buy the made in USA keens? They still make some in USA. Actually keens are hiking boots for yuppies not working men. Red Wing has some work boots for working men, some are made in Minnesota in case you didn’t know. So quit dissing a American company. Spend a little of that farm welfare check you got from the government on real working boot.

    • @aTrippyFarmer
      @aTrippyFarmer  3 роки тому +1

      Moe, the “farm-welfare check” is to keep the farm operating. Don’t let everyone fool you with the face value of their operation-some of these farms aren’t as well off as they’d like you to think. I am just an employee here. Being an American company doesn’t give you a free pass to produce low-quality products. If the boots were made for hiking, I was not aware of that. I am fairly certain that they are also branded for work, especially with a reinforced toe. Thanks for watching, and chill out a little bit next time!
