All the love that other big 10 team fans are showing to MN is awesome to see. Hopefully we can stay this good for years to come. This should definitely help recruiting.
I watched a preview of this game on SEC network and the general feeling put forth by that crew was, if Auburn shows up to play, Minnesota doesn't have a chance, but if Auburn is flat, Minnesota has a shot to make it interesting. What you're really saying is, sometimes Auburn doesn't show up to play, and this might be one of those games. Well, guess what, great teams ALWAYS show up. If you think Auburn is a great team, them not showing up should never enter your mind. The Gophers are a great team, and they showed up for every single game this season. They had a bad game against Wisconsin, but it's not for a lack of effort or a lack of interest in that game. The Iowa loss is nothing to scoff at. Kinnick Stadium is a fucking nightmare to play in and the Iowa defense is better than Auburn's. I believe Auburn showed up for this game, I just think Minnesota is legitimately a better team (just barely better) with an O-Line big enough to bully the Tigers and smart coaches who know how to use the talent available to them. This was a great game and both teams played their hearts out. If you think Auburn didn't want this, just ask the players. Commentators need to stop insulting these kids and at least give them the respect of acknowledging their effort.
You know, Minnesota just played solid. Coaches had the guys prepped - Minnesota believed they could win against SEC power - and called the right plays. Offensive line outplayed an excellent Auburn D-line. Receivers made spectacular catches on key plays. Running backs picked the right holes, ran with power, and hung onto the ball. No one panicked after turnovers or in tight spots. Tanner Morgan didn’t get sacked or rushed, and played cool. Auburn didn’t fold, Minnesota just played better. Biggest puzzle was how that the Minnesota O-line so dominated that Auburn D-line for the entire game - how could that happen?
Biggest O line in college football for one. They did this to the highly rated Penn State front 4 as well. I think Auburn put too much stock in that blow out (second half) game Wisconsin put on Minnesota. That was a rivalry game and Minnesota had blown out Wisconsin the prior year in Madison.
Yeah the O-line was the one area where it looked like Minn had the edge. They seemed bigger and stronger than Auburn's D line, and more motivated. They were pumped up. It was cool to see.
Oline! How many times they pushed ahead moving the pile forward. Morgan not getting sacked, not one pass batted down that I recall. And starting rt out. Just great job by the them. Ibrahim looked like he did in bowl game last year, just refusing to go down. Gophers scored tds in red zone, what they couldn't do in Iowa City.

Score doesn’t show how bad Minnesota beat up on Auburn. Dominated in all phases of the game and rendered their prized d-line completely useless even with their top o-lineman out. Only reason Auburn hung around was the kick return TD. Soundly beaten by a better team.
Let’s review the Facts... A bowl game in Tampa is basically a home game for Auburn. Gophers lost their OC last week. Temperature at game time was well above 32 degrees, clearly a disadvantage for the Gophers. Auburn had the 5 & 4 stars. Gophers??? Game was played on real grass and not on that plastic turf in the BIG 14. Auburn played the toughest schedule in the BCS no doubt. BBQ is far superior in the SEC, clearly an advantage for Auburn no doubt... SKI-U-MAH! 🏈🐿
so much about this 2019 gopher season man…. losing the “win and you’re in” game to go to the big 10 championship… where we would’ve likely lost but gained a rose bowl berth…. being ranked as high as 8 in the cfp… deadly WR trio in Bateman, Johnson and CRAB… deadly backfield duo in ibrahim and smith… antione freaking winfield ugh
Not saying Benetti was biased in his call of the game. I think he does a great job. But it was very clear that he wanted to say the name "Igbinoghene" as many times as he could!
I was really skeptical when the Gophers brought in Coach Fleck with so much hype about what he’d done with other programs. I think a lot of us Minnesotans remember all too well the Lou Holtz betrayal after so much hype about him but Fleck has performed far beyond what we skeptics predicted and lived up to the hype. I didn’t watch the game but this excellent highlights video gives a good synopsis. One common thread between Auburn and Minnesota fans is that this football game was the best game, pro or college ball, that they’ve ever seen. To the LSU fans who continue to scoff about any other conference and the Gophers team in particular, there’s only one way to find out, isn’t there? Now that the U of M’s program looks promising, hopefully it will be easier to land recruits too. Once you’ve played through some Minnesota winters, the NFL will be a piece of cake.
To Lou Holtz's credit, he did have a Notre Dame clause in his contract. That was the only team. I enjoyed his years here with those Friday night football games at the Metrodome.
A very impressive year for Minnesota. It sucks that we lost the axe again, but all things considered, this team has vastly improved from recent years and has something to look forward to.
Recruiting is going very well. Already four 4 star commits for 2021. Defensive secondary should be really good in a couple of years. 24/7 has the Golden Gopher 2021 recruiting class now ranked 4th or 5th in the country.
That fake punt looks like something Auburn's new Offensive coordinator Chad Morris came up with. I bet Chad Morris had decorated the locker room to look like a disco to introduce his club dub. I will be watching Auburn next year to see if Chad Morris ruins their Quarterbacks and has a disorganized offense just like he did at Arkansas. Maybe he brought his 3 foot tall play board you will see him carry on the sidelines. And forget about the players concentrating on football during practice if he plays the blaring loud music he was known for.
Auburn, what a team, what a coach, gets paid millions to coach a team that losses 3 or more games a year continuously. And 4 games this year, better yet, they should keep him around. Good for laughs. Auburn’s last 7 bowl games; 2 wins 5 losses.
Note: At 3:32 in the video on the Minnesota TD that wasn't a bad cut ESPN was still on commercial break and missed the TD

SKI-U-MAH!
🏈🐿
They lost a cold weather game to Wisconsin...warm weather is not a disadvantage to the gophers.
Minnesota played a better game and where coached well...They WON no excuses Minnesota Won plain and simple...
Andrew Larson Hellooooo!
Nick Pitera Hello?
Uhm, Wisconsin also plays in cold weather. HELLO!
Little did Winfield know he just played in his future home stadium in which he’ll win a Super Bowl with Tom Brady lol.
so much about this 2019 gopher season man…. losing the “win and you’re in” game to go to the big 10 championship… where we would’ve likely lost but gained a rose bowl berth…. being ranked as high as 8 in the cfp… deadly WR trio in Bateman, Johnson and CRAB… deadly backfield duo in ibrahim and smith… antione freaking winfield ugh
9:35!!! Done and Done!!
Hopefully this is just the start of something good for the Gophers.
No, they suck 🐓
😜
Yea we'll see
Brian S Stfu.
Exactly. As good as this season was, it’s still just another year of building up the program. I imagine this will do wonders for recruiting.
@@xdgaming70 are you stupid he winked
Big ten Minnesota was a good team this year
5:06 what a catch
Great game! Gotta love college football!
Where was this Minnesota that played Iowa and Wisconsin?
Oh well. We'll take a bowl win.
Nobody wins at kinnick stadium under the lights. Upset waiting to happen
We always lose at Kinnick it seems
@@timallen609 Everybody does.
This Minnesota was the team that showed up for Penn State.
My dad used to play for them from 1990-1992 and we went to the game and found his room mate
Shout out to the blooming onion mascot at 3:42
Now that's a team I can get behind. The Auburn Bloomin Onions!
Lmao
This the same Auburn team that many people in the SEC said would beat OSU😂😂 Congratulations Minnesota
As a Duck fan Minnestoa looking stout. Pretty amazing considering they don't recruit 5 stars.
Big 10 means business that's forsure.
Fleck doesn't recruit 5 stars, he makes them.
As a Minnesotan. This felt good!
The SEC has been getting embarrassed all year this year
What do you mean?
Lol you tripping
O Alonzo Auburn losing time Minnesota lmao.
Mykel Rogers ole miss losing to Memphis and Tennessee losing to Georgia state
@@kash45 Don't forget Mizzou losing to Wyoming.
A very impressive year for Minnesota. It sucks that we lost the axe again, but all things considered, this team has vastly improved from recent years and has something to look forward to.
I have a feeling gopher will become a powerhouse in the next 5 years
Not sure about that😬 but I would be hyped if it happened.
It’s definitely possible Minnesota is getting a lot of recognition this year
After decades of neglect, Minnesota is investing in its revenue sports. It's starting to bear fruit.
You should've shown the end of the game as the clock ended!
Uh oh, Here come the big ten fans.
Mr Boss I know, it’s sucks we only get to see a few good sec bowl games because there’s only a few ranked teams.
Ski-u-Mah!!
glory to the midwest for creating football
James Linder You think any Minnesota fan wants Michigan to win? Sad day when Auburn is cheering for Alabama.
James Linder Michigan is the 5th best team in the big 10. Not much of a flex beating them
Love all the subtle condescension towards Minnesota in this comment section. We’ll see ya’ll next year...
Now that’s a game!
I'm so excited for the Gophers football program this year I sure hope there's a season
Recruiting is going very well. Already four 4 star commits for 2021. Defensive secondary should be really good in a couple of years. 24/7 has the Golden Gopher 2021 recruiting class now ranked 4th or 5th in the country.
Best season ever. That was GOLDEN!!!!! Btw gopher fans Wisconsin , Ohio State, and Michigan just choked on the main course.
That Ibrahim you don't hear from him do the season but he turns up big in Bowl games. .
5:15. My god. 10:08. Wow too
What a catch! 🔥🔥 🔥
For Minnesota, this feels like forever ago now.
Incoming uses of the “motivation” card.
It doesn’t matter the motivation when Auburn had many starters sitting out.
Leroy Brown So? The remaining players have to play the game. Don’t they?
Th3Aggr3ssiv3 Cons3rvativ3 I mean Minnesota’s Varsity team was playing Auburn’s JV team in this game but sure the usual backups still had to play.
@@leroybrown7927 this guy cant even admit a SEC team lost lol
The Reaper I didn’t say that. What are you reading?
Ibraham was the game changer no cap!
4:37 rip #24 😂😂😂😂
Jr plays a LOT like Sr and I want him on my team. Corners that can cover and not afraid to thump in run support .... yes please!
James H Yeah they beat Alabama, but as usual, they did nothing with that win. Gus is a disgrace to the SEC.
❤❤❤
What a great season that was, and what a great season ending bowl game win against a great program! GO GOPHERS! ROW THE BOAT! SKI U MAH!
5:10 one of the best catches ever. College, pros, whatever. That was unreal.
Not just hockey anymore eh. Congrats gophers
Minnesota football history is almost as big as hockey. Just slowly declined to mediocre over many years
First of all R.I.P to the main man DAVID STERN 🕊🕊
