Please, please, you guys...do not wait out a hurricane IN YOUR ATTIC!! The flood waters will rise and trap you. It will be your grave. Evacuate when you are told to do so! Whether it’s Fires in California, floods in LA. Do not make people risk their lives to come and get you! Stay safe out there everyone. Hang in there.

Exactly point I and others keep making, the local government and state government should have a plan in place, to use school buses and other vehicles to get everyone out, and I also think pets should be allowed as well, in these times people should band together and help BEFORE people get stuck there. Knowing that these hurricanes are going to keep happening, the government should have an emergency exit for everyone.

    • @nicolebacon3230

There are ways put in place from last time, the problem is no one knows how to ask for it, or where to even look for the help. There are also sanctuary places for people to bring their pets as well instead of locking them in their houses to die. Many people are just to lazy to find out these things before hand and failed to come up with their shtf plan and resource prep for disasters, ya'll live in new orleans, should have emergency evac plans put in place after last time. I live in the northeast, i got 5 different disaster plans, and i am dirt poor, prepping is ideal for those with no money or resources.

We need to officially recognize and give the Presidential award to the members of the Cajun Navy as well as select civilians who made fire breaks in the wildfires to save neighborhoods. We should also give a monetary award for funding their service. In times like these, we need civilians to step up and lend a hand. We need to encourage this. People helping people. Once upon a time, officials could handle most things, but the record number of disasters happening all at once, requires a greater community response. We still do what we can, but we are all in this together and the prime directive is both, 'Do unto others as you would have them do to you' and saving lives and then property. This is the time for good and outstanding men and women to rise up and show the stuff they are made of.

Who's going to buy out their homes & companies when most were not damaged or damaged enough to abandon? Even with some damage, the cost to abandon their buildings w/o a penny given to them is more than the repairs. Think about it before making a blanket decree.

@@Balthorium They definitely pay premium to live below sea level. My friend has a house below sea level and he pays almost as much for his insurance a month as he does for his house note. My parents have a place on Grand Isle and it is uninsured because the insurance is too expensive but they paid it off years ago. Its a vacation home so they can do that. Others have no place to go & its their primary home. Should they not be able to rebuild San Francisco after an earthquake or South Florida after a storm destroys things there? Most of these places that are extraordinarily devastated are not below sea level but at sea level. An island cannot be below sea level.
Louisiana has gotten many storms the last few years but before that they have not had many devastating storms for years. South Florida gets as many storms or more. And then New Orleans where most of the cost for hurricanes is come from in Louisiana, Should they abandon a major city in the US and who will pay for that?

@@Liquidforce360 parts of San Francisco like freeways weren’t rebuilt because they knew they would collapse and people would be killed and it would be a waste of money. If no federal aid is spent and you pay insurance I don’t care if you live there but rebuilding every 10 years is ridiculous. 99% of San Francisco was fine after the earthquake but the flooding destroys everything. Not worth it. Maybe Venice Italy but nothing in Louisiana is that nice so it’s not worth it.

Just so you know though, in my 35 years living there I never knew anyone who lost their home nor did my parents or I lose either of our homes, yet we lived right on the coast. Many of the homes are pretty old as you may have noticed. Although living in WA state, the homes seem less nice than most new homes in Louisiana, but I do hear what you're saying.

Seeing all these scenes are almost traumatic for me. As a Floridian the most bizarre feeling is walking out after a hurricane and seeing all the damage and footage of what was going on around you. It’s an other worldly sort of feeling.
The one thing that’s always beautiful is seeing how as people start coming out, there’s always people who’s first reaction is to go out and help. One thing that always strikes me is as soon as it’s safe to go out, it’s almost human nature to go out and check on our neighbors. Everyone sorta filing out and checking on each other.

We all saw the airport packed with people trying to catch any flight out of the state, and the highways were bumper to bumper for days. If people say they stayed because "I have a 2 story house so I thought it would be safe" that's a pretty clear description... they were defying evacuations. I'm sure some actually tried to leave and couldn't but plenty of people definitely said they made a choice. they decided it wasn't going to be "that bad" or I want to stay and watch my property...

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others. But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven. Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Messiah. The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted".
    Matthew 23 NIV
YOU SHALL NOT MAKE FOR YOURSELF AN IMAGE in the form of anything, in Heaven above or in the Earth beneath, or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents up to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves and pray, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, I will hear from Heaven, will forgive their sins, and will heal their land.
AND WHEN YOU PRAY, DO NOT BE LIKE THE HYPOCRITES, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. BUT WHEN YOU PRAY GO INTO YOUR ROOM, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
This, then, is how you should pray:
    Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be your name,
    your kingdom come,
    your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
    And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
"Matthew 5-7 NIV Bible Gateway", we can use google search.
    These are the teachings,
The Righteousness of our Lord Jesus Christ our God.
REPENT, and start doing what is right.
If you abide my teachings, you are really my disciples; then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in Truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.
GOD IS SPIRIT so his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in Truth.
In the New Heaven and New Earth,
    only Righteousness dwells.
May the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ our God be with you all.
