Nowadays, I see everyone talking about Naruto/Boruto and DragonBall but never see anyone speak about inuyasha. I love inuyasha and to this day still watch it and remember every episode bit by bit. I remember when I was 6 waking up every morning at 5:30am with my brother and sister just to watch it on DVD. Those were the days. I'll admit, Naruto is really good, but Inuyasha will forever have my heart.
Yes! Omg I was just having this conversation with a friend!!! Inuyasha was THE anime for me and it always will be. It had such a great mix of emotions. Seeing the characters evolve as the story went on was amazing. The OST? To die for. 😍 I'll never get tired of it. It's sad that you never here anyone talk about this masterpiece. Because for me personally, it's the anime that made me start watching anime.
Tbh i love both. Both inuyasha and Naruto have the perfect amount of action, drama and romance so that everyone can enjoy. My 42 year old mother would sometimes call me into her room so that we could watch Naruto or inuyasha together.
This music makes me cry 😢 because my parents work hard to make money in their restaurant. But the music hits me really hard when my Grandpa serve in the Vietnam War passed away in 2012 when I was six. To be honest the comment I’m typing makes me cry even more.
Honestly, Inuyasha's soundtrack is one of the most beautiful ever recorded, it's heartwarming and heartwrenching at the same time, with a nostalgic vibe that will resound in your ears whenever you approach any of the tracks. You got to love this series❤️
La Bella Well, composers make sure audiences like their music, so it’s natural for us to prefer a certain soundrack over another one😊 I agree with you though, Fairy Tail has an amazingly stuctured musical composition, but to me the same goes for Inuyasha and many other animes - and I do not intend to hide from you the fact that I actually prefer Kaoru Wada’s work on Inuyasha, even If I might be biased, for this is my third favorite anime of all time and one I grew up with xD

It hits different when you've watched it again after a few years. I used to despise Kikyo because I thought she was a selfish person, especially when I saw the episode when she tried to drag InuYasha to Hell with her. But I watched it again in Grade 11. And I gradually began to like her, and in the end, I cried so hard when she died. She was essentially a kind, warm person. If you are destined to be one of the most powerful priestess in the Feudal Era whose life is dedicated to protect the Sacred Jewel, you'd be quite pissed at the world, too. But I noticed how much she loves children, how she wandered the Earth and gave solace to the troubled souls... How much more selfless can you get? And her life was so tragic. She died thinking the love of her life betrayed her, only to be forcefully woken up again and be forever alone. When all she wanted was to be an ordinary woman. As for Kagome, I ardently admire how she completely trusts InuYasha. She understood how much Kikyo meant to him, how he could never forget her. Because Kikyo was his first love. The first woman who truly understood his pain of being half a demon, never really belonged anywhere. But Kagome brought light to his life. He made friends, he let other people in and as the anime progresses, more people knows about his secret of the full-moon day which signifies his growing trust. Kikyo even noted that "his eyes were gentler, it was no longer sharp and suspicious." Both women were meant for InuYasha. He fell in love with the same soul. And that's how beautiful the story is. Kikyo taught InuYasha how to love, and Kagome completed him and made him whole. InuYasha will forever be in my heart, its melodies and beautiful story will stay with me forever
I completely agree. It broke me when Kikyo had to leave a village when had she just thought that she could settle there, because Sayo saw her taking dead girls' souls to maintain her life. I think it's the moment she realises that she really has no place to go...

The only way for her to become an ordinary is when she dies and gets her soul purified. Poor thing! I feel so bad for her 😔😢😭😞. She deserve to be happy with the one she loves. Instead she only died in his hands as he watched her soul fade away
I felt bad for Kikyo, the author made her to be a tragic woman with lot of hatred and became one of the most hated character I've ever seen. She never wanted to be the protector of Shikon, she was killed by her lover, died thinking he betrayed her, came back to life without her consent, she's mud and bones, she needs sorrowful souls AND she knows very well she could never be with Inuyasha anymore because she's a corpse! ...dude I'd be seriously mad at the world too. But thing is, wherever you liked Kagome or Kikyo more, Inuyasha's soul and theirs were meant to be. I find this beautiful.

Most of people who hated Kikyo were those who saw the anime as kids and didn't understand everything that was going on. Nowadays most people have re-watched Inuyasha and find out everything you're saying is right. Kikyo is the best character easily. And her final at the final act was just one of the saddest ever.
After Inuyasha ending, I've never really loved another anime or manga anymore. Even everyone is talking about Naruto, One Piece, Fairy Tail,... I watched them, but nothing give me feeling like Inuyasha. It's not wrong when you said that Inuyasha is SPECIAL. Its 2024, and inuyasha has been part of my life since i was 9 years old and i am already 27 now and still all nostalgic experience has begun to show. Its kinda sad because you will never go back to the time where i can watch anime all day without thinking anything. Hits different now. Anyway enjoy the music and hit 👍 if you relate.
I don't think any anime has portrayed a couple that expresses true love like Inuyasha and Kagome. Their relationship isn’t overly cute or lovey dovey, yet they still have adorable and romantic moments where they’re comfortable, gentle, affectionate and close to each other. They aren’t constantly going through drama or arguing, but they do at times. They see both the good and bad of themselves, their strengths and their flaws, they fight for each other, are protective, and have meaningful conversations. Through their greatest hardships when their love was tested they always persevered. Their dynamic is a perfect blend of love, respect, trust, understanding, and admiration. It feels balanced and authentic, and feels like what true love is really like. That’s what makes me love this couple because despite their flaws, they bring out the best in each other and have more strength from it and that makes their relationship feel real, which to me, makes it truly perfect.

I am happy to read the comments and feel good that there are people who can actually acknowledge how tragic Kikiyo's story was and how existence of either (Kagome and Kikyo) was not the fault of the other and how both of them were true beauties of kindest hearts who fought against the unfairness of life.
No one protect Kikyo when she faced difficulties. She believed Inuyasha and fell in love for the first time. The kind righteous strong girl, was left alone again and again. Her soul with only hatred was reborn yet she had kept on helping people because her deepest personality is kindness. My tears are for Kikyo sama.
in the manga we get a deeper sense of the darkness Kikyo has though and what she would do in order to replicate on those feelings. including hurting and attempting to Kill Kagome.

_I regret having watched Inuyasha, because of this series I fell in love with anime. Inuyasha had everything, romance, action, plot, developing of charatcers, a great antagonist, secondary characters (Sesshomaru, Kikyo). No words to describe this ouvre d'art. I remember watching it until late night in one of the public channels of Colombia lmao_
For me, it’s the opposite cuz it was Naruto that made me truly love anime and no longer thinks it’s childish. But these 2 anime’s have made me cry so much. So many sad moments in the anime’s. I can’t tell you how many times I have actually cried while watching Inuyasha and Naruto/Shippuden
I finally watched the whole anime for the first time just a few days ago. I'm not someone that watches a lot of anime but this one was a suggestion of a close person to me, but we stopped talking. Inuyasha reminded me about that person and thats why it took me so long to finish it. But now that I did, I'm very thankful to that person. Truly a masterpiece ❤️💚
Me too, and I'm happy because when I saw this anime, animes like Fate were already existing, but starting with an old anime makes you less demanding with the graphics, because after seeing really pretty animes like SNK, SAO alicization, Fate, Kimetsu no yaiba etc I have to admit that I struggle a bit with the graphics of old animes now but it didn't prevent me from watching Evangelion and all the films!
Kikyo has always been my favorite girl. I remembered back then chatting with my fellow friends whom also watched Inuyasha, and there was hardly anyone whom shares the same fandom for Kikyo with me. Back then everyone was all over for Kagome and hate for Kikyo. She had to shoulder the heavy responsibility to safeguard the jewel, she was willing to give up her destiny to be with Inuyasha, she was misled into believing her love betrayed her, eventually she couldn't even leave the world in peace and brought back to life as an undead that has to feed on wandering souls to exist. Everything about Kikyo is just tragic, but yet underappreciated for a woman with such respectable strength for her choices. She's an inspiration, and everytime when life gets me down I always think about Kikyo, and put myself back up again.
You were just ahead of the curve; your friends were identifying with Kagome and taking her views at face value while you actually understood the characters and their depth It can be lonely , but I'm happy that you always felt empathy towards Kikyo - there was at least two of us!

I feel inuyasha was one of the only long older anime that didn’t feel like it got too stretched plus it had a really great finale and a great message about love. Love this show... such good memories.
A Little Rant: I never really understood the Kikyo vs Kagome debate. Tbh depending on whether you watched dub or sub Kagome’s character changes a lot. In the dub Kagome comes off as very bratty and annoying. While in the sub she comes off as youthful and kind. In both versions I feel Kikyo is very misunderstood, she is painted as a villain a lot but she isn’t at all. Kikyo was destined to live a tragic life. Both Kagome and Kikyo are good people, technically they are the same person but they had different fates. Kikyo and Inuyasha were never meant to work out, and they never truly loved eachother. While they did love eachother, it was a love made out of sorrow and loneliness. They were using eachother. Inuyasha wanted a place to belong and be accepted, and Kikyo wanted to live a normal life without the scared jewel. They loved eachother because they wanted their lives to change so bad. They were so desperate for the opportunity, that they were careless to see through Naraku’s tricks. Kagome and Inuyasha are a lot different. Unlike Kikyo who had no choice but to protect the jewel and live the life she did, Kagome had more than the choice. At any point Kagome could’ve left to her actual time period and never come back. She had the opportunity to live a normal life, but she didn’t take it. Kagome also encourages Inuyasha to embrace himself being a half demon, instead of full human or full demon. Kagome and Inuyasha didn’t seek anything from eachother other than just eachother. That is the reason why their relationship took so long to flowish, while Kikyo and Inuyasha’s relationship went by quickly. Kagome and Inuyasha experienced true love, and Kikyo and Inuyasha experiences tragic love. However Kikyo wanting something selfishly out of love does not make her worse than Kagome. Again Kagome lived a very different life. She was surrounded by her family, her friends, and love. Kikyo was surrounded by death, threats, and people wanting protection from her. The only thing she did have was her little sister, who also completed relied on her. Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kiara all worked together. While back then, it was just Kikyo by herself. Her life was HARD, that is why she grew to be so powerful. So instead of hating her for causing discourse in Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship, people should feel sympathy for her as she watches the one person who gave her relief from her life leave her and find love and acceptance without her. Similar, people should not hate Kagome because her life wasn’t as hard as Kikyo’s, and people should also not hate her because she is so easy going and sometimes whiny. She is young, and she’s, for the most part, a normal teenage girl. She’s stubborn. But she is also incredibly kind, thoughtful, and full of motivation. As I said, she could’ve left at any time when it got hard, but she stayed. The two share the same soul, they have the same characteristics and the same powerful spiritual energy. They just lived two completely different lives that shaped them. So yeah there’s my rant. I first watched this anime when I was in middle school. I had moments where I totally hated Kikyo and some moments where I totally hated Kagome, both because I didn’t really understand. But now that I’m in college and I’ve decided to rewatch it, it’s a lot different. I’m not just rooting impatiently for Inuyasha and Kagome to kiss, I’m relaxing and watching the beautiful story unfold. And I’m noticing so many things I didn’t notice before. I feel like several years from now I will go back and watch it all again and enjoy it again in a different way. It’s just that like of anime you can keep with you forever.
The author realized midway that kagome just like inuyasha needed a dark reflection of herself. Inuyasha had sesshomaru who represented the yokai pinnacle that inuyasha would never have. For kagome it became a dark version of kikyo. A fallen priestess sustaining herself with the soul of dead women. It is good to see that the author ended his story by having these issues solved, inuyasha and sesshomaru stopped their bickering after growing up. Kikyo returned to kagome while at peace with herself.
I used to hate Kikyo for getting in the way of inuyasha and Kagome and her selfish wish to die with inuyasha. But as I grew older and after watching the Anime over and over again for 15 years, I came to understand her. Not her first Intention of killing him but her true self and tragic life. I cried like a Baby when she died, even though it bugged me that inuyasha kissed her in Front of Kagome. Kikyo Was a wonderful and kind human who wanted to protect the innocent people. Though it doesn't change the fact that I think kagome and inuyasha were meant for each other. Kagome has an admirable way of loving. She's so selfless and just wants inuyasha to be happy and to smile, even if it would mean inuyasha picks kikyo, even if she felt nothing but pain. She accepted him for what he was. And I think this was exactly what inuyasha needed. Someone who loves him the way he is and trusts him, no matter what. And I guess inuyasha will never stop loving Kikyo, his first love, but he loves Kagome more. A truly sad yet beautiful Lovestory.
At the end Kikyo was able to be with her beloved Inuyasha. Kagome was the reencarnation of Kikyo, and her love for Inuyasha was such, that her reencarnation traveled to the past to be with him. Kagome didn’t trust Inuyasha at the beginning, that was Kikyo’s soul being cautious. If you pay attention, the moment they find out Naraku was the one who attacked Kikyo and ultimately killed her, Kagome starts to trust Inuyasha more, and their love starts. She needed to know the truth to heal and finally be with him.
Totally misunderstood Kikyo back then. Back when I was young, I hated kikyo and though that it was very unfair for kagame. I rewatched all episode along with the final act. My heart broke for Kikyo and Inuyasha, a love not meant to be. They're the greatest love of each other it's just as it's not meant to be. Kagame on the other way is her correct love, filling each others differences. Not totally relying with each other. Their own presence is enough to be happy.
Couldn't agree more! When I re-watch in my current age which is 25-ish y.o, Kikyo is very unlucky. She just wanted to have a happy life with someone she loves, but Onigumo messed it :(
Inuyasha has to be one of the most underrated shows of all time and I don't understand why. It has a beautiful story, great characters, good humor, drama placed right and beautiful places. I wish people would recognize it more in the western areas since here in Hungary it's a classic, the Hungarian dub is awsome

At the Kikyo's death scene, Inuyasha doesn't think twice on kissing Kikyo in front of Kagome... That said it all. I'ts just them. She loved him, he loved her. Despite all the sadness, anger and loneliness she dealed with , even dead she kept loving Inuyasha, and in her another life as Kagome. Damn, that's love. Onigumo was right... If she couldn’t be with him, she couldn’t be with no one else. I feel so bad for her.... she deserved much more.

This show quite literally raised me. Though it had been out for 15 years or so, (I started watching it at 7) the whole concept just trapped me into the world. To be honest, I was hooked. All. eight. seasons. No one really knew what Inuyasha was and I was one of the only kids who watched anime. If they knew about anime, it most definitely wasn't Inuyasha. That show was the best thing to ever happen to me and I'll never forget it. Now the new one, Yashahime: Princess half-demon. I love how they used the same music for the show. Hearing it made a huge wave of nostalgia rush over me. I truly was surprised to find out Sesshomaru had kids, half-demons too. I had a love-hate relationship with the guy. There were points where 7 year old me wanted to rip his eye out, so the fact he had twin daughters was a real eye opener haha. Apologies for rambling, i start writing then get super side-tracked. ;-;
I will never forget this masterpiece Anime. I've cried during some of the episodes, laughed countless times, and have gotten very tense through some of their battles. I will never forget this anime, the OST has been my favorite OSTs since I started watching anime a few years ago, and I still think abt it sometimes. I love the Anime, always have and I always will.

I’m not as crazy about anime as I used to be, but Inuyasha will forever hold a very special place in my heart. This music still gives me the same emotions it did when I first discovered the show. And the fact that they released a sequel series about their kids the same year I had my first child... That was just perfect. I’ve been watching Yashahime and I pretty much smile like an idiot through every episode because the entire time all I can think is, “Huh... We’re all grown up now.” ❤️

Ah, the anime that started it all... Inuyasha was the first anime I ever watched and the one that introduced me to the world of, well, anime. It holds such a special place in my heart. Rewatching it for the first time since I was a child makes me feel things I haven't felt in so long. It takes me back to when times were simpler, easier, and, as much as it hurts to admit, happier. Every time I listen to Inuyasha's soundtrack, I can't help but want to cry my eyes out.
Kikyo and kagome are one. Kikyo had to be like that serious, calm, and focused because her duty was to protect the people. Now after time has passed kagome is born where it’s a time of peace and she’s allowed to be playful and free. Past present and future become one. Inuyasha is in love with both of them because they are the same and also he loves kikyo because that’s his first and true love and it’s familiar and comforting and we are drawn to our first loves even across times and in different lifetimes. True love never dies, and never gives up.
Most people hated her because of the love triangle she had with Inuyasha and Kagome. But that was one of the most interesting stuff in Inuyasha. The only thing I didn't liked about Kikyo was that she gave the jewel to Naraku. It was just a pepega move.

I watched this anime when I was a child and didn't even know how to say English. However, now, when I listen to the music about KiKyo and look into her eyes, the heartbroken feeling is still so strong. She is powerful, pretty and pure. She come back from the hell but still cannot get back the love she treasured......💔
I fell in love with this anime ever since the first episode air in the US, I watched it so much later on that I got my aunt to watch it a few times and then she started to watch it,now that Christmas is tomorrow here I am listening to it in a dark room with tears in my eyes remembering her this is the first Christmas without her, RIP aunt Leslie you will be missed,until we meet again one day in heaven
I fell in love with her from the first time I saw the movie. and I never stopped crying when I watched her die in Inuyasha's arms no matter how many times I watched it. I was only 9 years old at the time, but I still somewhat understood what she had to go through. I still remember how disgruntled I was when scrolling down to the comments and seeing people saying harsh words to her, even cursing the people who loved her :( I don't understand how they can become so. but In the end, Inuyasha became a part of my childhood and Kikyo was also the first female character that I fell in love with.Thanks for everything.

I lived in Korea till age of 9 and I am now 25. I grew up reading/watching Inuyasha along with Detective Conan and DBZ. When I watched Inuyasha as a kid, I just paid attention to the action scene. I started rewatching this show and I never realized how beautiful this anime is. I honestly think Inuyasha is one of the best anime.
I could not relate more. Everything you said is exactly what happened to me. I remember watching Inuyasha and Detective Conan in Korean. Because I was born and raised in Korea for a while, I grew up listening to the main OST of When They Cry. Nostalgia hurts. 😔

Inuyasha got me through foster care, it was my distraction from my confusion, it got me through many hard times. I took so much from the show. The core story line is unlike any other. The fact that it’s still going, makes this in my opinion the best anime ever.
My first love showed me this show. We only watched a few episodes together. But the music was beautiful. Every few years I come back to listen to this video. It has the best songs , it takes me back to a simpler time. The striving tunes fill me with nostalgia, peace, and an off determination. Thank you for posting this
I have read many comments about Inuyasha here. They were all beautiful. I was moved to tears reading this and listening to this beautiful music. Back then I was 9-10 and now I am 15. I just remembered Inuyasha that I searched for it and found this. Thank you very much for uploading this video. I am moved to tears. Back then I was very young that I didn't understand the story well and didn't get to watch it much. But now when I think of it and read these comments, I understand that this is not just a story a person wrote. This helps people stand up. This heals them. I am healed too. I am so happy. I used to wait to watch this on TV when I was a kid, but couldn't get to watch all so I will watch it and understand. I felt the same pain as Kikyo about a year ago. Its time for me to get over it. It’s a beautiful story, I love it. For me, what makes this even more sad is that it’s usually Kikyo shown here. It just shows even more about how beautiful and sad Kikyo’s soul is. Whenever Kikyo would also appear or moments where Kikyo is there, sad beautiful music would start playing.

While some people are hating on Kagome I think her love story is sad too, her knowing she was a reincarnation of a women who Inuyasha loved, She knew that Inuyasha would pick kikyo over her so she does her best to keep cool and support them, but it pains her so much. She knew she wasn’t suppose to fall in love with him but she did...it’s common...Falling in love with a guy who has been there for you and protected you...I think Kagome deserve some love too...she had to bear it and see Inuyasha and Kikyo kiss so many times infront of her and not make a single move to stop them and stood there watching them. it’s like she’s glad for them and she doesn’t mind Inuyasha taking Kikyo’s side, A sad love story for Kagome...That’s why I love her so much in the anime. Sekual Tyranosaur Yeah, if you think about it, most of this music was played during the scenes with Kikyo and Inuyasha. Which means their relationship had a lot of sadness and pain connected to it. So, I think that was proof that they were never going to be together forever. Where as Inuyasha said Kagome was the one who taught him to smile, their relationship was full of happiness and support. (I am of course still a little salty that he kissed Kikyo like 10 times and I'm pretty sure we only say him kiss Kagome once, in the last episode too.)

In the inu yasha manga,I only remember kikyo. She is the key and soul of the whole story. Sad stories are always poetic and inspirational to the artist. Kikyo is an impressive and excellent character . Kikyo, there are many elements that make up humanity in life. And this song reminds me of her.

I hear this, and I think that Inuyasha's story could not have been more tragic, starting with the death of his human mother, who struggled to have her half-demon son, whose father had died. He was despised all his life for being a half-human Youkai, until he met a woman, the love of his life, which he had to see die based on a false betrayal caused by a bandit who wanted that woman at all costs, Thanks to that he was sealed in a tree for 50 years with a grudge towards that person he had loved so much. Then the whole main story occurs, full of death and sad and emotional moments, he had to fight against all adversities for his love, for what he wanted and to live a normal life in peace. When it was all over, he waited 3 years to see Kagome again, IT WAS 53 YEARS FOR HE TO FINALLY BE AT PEACE. After some quiet years, out of nowhere he had to abandon her daughter, the fruit of her pure love, leaving her orphan and alone in such a cruel world. At this point I think Inuyasha must have all the good in the world for all that he suffered :( THE MOST SAD OF ALL IS THAT IF YOU THINK IT RIGHT, IN THE FUTURE KAGOME, SANGO AND MIROKU WILL DIE LIKE HUMANS THAT THEY ARE AND INUYASHA IS GOING TO KEEP ALIVE SINCE THE DEMONS LIVE MANY MORE YEARS, AND MY BABY WILL BE LONE WITHOUT HIS LOVE OR HIS FRIENDS. I don't really remember about inuyasha. All i remember is that i had watched this when i was a kid. Thanks a lot for the storyline. Now I'm eager to watch inuyasha again.
The members of the great demon dog family also suffered the same fate with the previous generation. They seem to be the strongest, but their lives are filled with loneliness, sadness, and loss. At least when Inuyasha returned, he had a daughter with him for the rest of his life after Kagome, Sango, and Miroku are gone. He also has his brother's family, who now sympathize with Inuyasha's feelings more than before. It's still a more happy ending for Inuyasha than living and watching everyone pass away... all alone. #ThankyouSUNRISE for making the sequel

Nowadays, I see everyone talking about Naruto/Boruto and DragonBall but never see anyone speak about inuyasha. I love inuyasha and to this day still watch it and remember every episode bit by bit. I remember when I was 6 waking up every morning at 5:30am with my brother and sister just to watch it on DVD. Those were the days. I'll admit, Naruto is really good, but Inuyasha will forever have my heart.

yes, it was such a great anime that i kept going back to it.
It hits different when you've watched it again after a few years. I used to despise Kikyo because I thought she was a selfish person, especially when I saw the episode when she tried to drag InuYasha to Hell with her.
But I watched it again in Grade 11. And I gradually began to like her, and in the end, I cried so hard when she died. She was essentially a kind, warm person. If you are destined to be one of the most powerful priestess in the Feudal Era whose life is dedicated to protect the Sacred Jewel, you'd be quite pissed at the world, too. But I noticed how much she loves children, how she wandered the Earth and gave solace to the troubled souls... How much more selfless can you get? And her life was so tragic. She died thinking the love of her life betrayed her, only to be forcefully woken up again and be forever alone. When all she wanted was to be an ordinary woman.
As for Kagome, I ardently admire how she completely trusts InuYasha. She understood how much Kikyo meant to him, how he could never forget her. Because Kikyo was his first love. The first woman who truly understood his pain of being half a demon, never really belonged anywhere. But Kagome brought light to his life. He made friends, he let other people in and as the anime progresses, more people knows about his secret of the full-moon day which signifies his growing trust. Kikyo even noted that "his eyes were gentler, it was no longer sharp and suspicious."
Both women were meant for InuYasha. He fell in love with the same soul. And that's how beautiful the story is. Kikyo taught InuYasha how to love, and Kagome completed him and made him whole.
InuYasha will forever be in my heart, its melodies and beautiful story will stay with me forever
I completely agree. It broke me when Kikyo had to leave a village when had she just thought that she could settle there, because Sayo saw her taking dead girls' souls to maintain her life. I think it's the moment she realises that she really has no place to go...

I felt bad for Kikyo, the author made her to be a tragic woman with lot of hatred and became one of the most hated character I've ever seen. Most of people who hated Kikyo were those who saw the anime as kids and didn't understand everything that was going on. Nowadays most people have re-watched Inuyasha and find out everything you're saying is right. Kikyo is the best character easily. And her final at the final act was just one of the saddest ever.

I don't think any anime has portrayed a couple that expresses true love like Inuyasha and Kagome. Their relationship isn’t overly cute or lovey dovey, yet they still have adorable and romantic moments where they’re comfortable, gentle, affectionate and close to each other. They aren’t constantly going through drama or arguing, but they do at times. They see both the good and bad of themselves, their strengths and their flaws, they fight for each other, are protective, and have meaningful conversations. Through their greatest hardships when their love was tested they always persevered. Their dynamic is a perfect blend of love, respect, trust, understanding, and admiration. It feels balanced and authentic, and feels like what true love is really like. That’s what makes me love this couple because despite their flaws, they bring out the best in each other and have more strength from it and that makes their relationship feel real, which to me, makes it truly perfect.

I finally watched the whole anime for the first time just a few days ago. I'm not someone that watches a lot of anime but this one was a suggestion of a close person to me, but we stopped talking. Inuyasha reminded me about that person and thats why it took me so long to finish it. But now that I did, I'm very thankful to that person. Truly a masterpiece ❤️💚

Me too, and I'm happy because when I saw this anime, animes like Fate were already existing, but starting with an old anime makes you less demanding with the graphics, because after seeing really pretty animes like SNK, SAO alicization, Fate, Kimetsu no yaiba etc I have to admit that I struggle a bit with the graphics of old animes now but it didn't prevent me from watching Evangelion and all the films!
Kikyo has always been my favorite girl. I remembered back then chatting with my fellow friends whom also watched Inuyasha, and there was hardly anyone whom shares the same fandom for Kikyo with me. Back then everyone was all over for Kagome and hate for Kikyo. She had to shoulder the heavy responsibility to safeguard the jewel, she was willing to give up her destiny to be with Inuyasha, she was misled into believing her love betrayed her, eventually she couldn't even leave the world in peace and brought back to life as an undead that has to feed on wandering souls to exist. Everything about Kikyo is just tragic, but yet underappreciated for a woman with such respectable strength for her choices. She's an inspiration, and everytime when life gets me down I always think about Kikyo, and put myself back up again.

I feel inuyasha was one of the only long older anime that didn’t feel like it got too stretched plus it had a really great finale and a great message about love. Love this show... such good memories.
A Little Rant:
I never really understood the Kikyo vs Kagome debate.
Tbh depending on whether you watched dub or sub Kagome’s character changes a lot.
In the dub Kagome comes off as very bratty and annoying.
While in the sub she comes off as youthful and kind.
In both versions I feel Kikyo is very misunderstood, she is painted as a villain a lot but she isn’t at all.
Kikyo was destined to live a tragic life.
Both Kagome and Kikyo are good people, technically they are the same person but they had different fates.
Kikyo and Inuyasha were never meant to work out, and they never truly loved eachother. While they did love eachother, it was a love made out of sorrow and loneliness. They were using eachother. Inuyasha wanted a place to belong and be accepted, and Kikyo wanted to live a normal life without the scared jewel. They loved eachother because they wanted their lives to change so bad. They were so desperate for the opportunity, that they were careless to see through Naraku’s tricks.
Kagome and Inuyasha are a lot different. Unlike Kikyo who had no choice but to protect the jewel and live the life she did, Kagome had more than the choice. At any point Kagome could’ve left to her actual time period and never come back. She had the opportunity to live a normal life, but she didn’t take it. Kagome also encourages Inuyasha to embrace himself being a half demon, instead of full human or full demon.
Kagome and Inuyasha didn’t seek anything from eachother other than just eachother.
That is the reason why their relationship took so long to flowish, while Kikyo and Inuyasha’s relationship went by quickly.
Kagome and Inuyasha experienced true love, and Kikyo and Inuyasha experiences tragic love.
However Kikyo wanting something selfishly out of love does not make her worse than Kagome. Again Kagome lived a very different life. She was surrounded by her family, her friends, and love. Kikyo was surrounded by death, threats, and people wanting protection from her. The only thing she did have was her little sister, who also completed relied on her.
Kagome, Inuyasha, Sango, Miroku, Shippo, and Kiara all worked together. While back then, it was just Kikyo by herself. Her life was HARD, that is why she grew to be so powerful.
So instead of hating her for causing discourse in Inuyasha and Kagome’s relationship, people should feel sympathy for her as she watches the one person who gave her relief from her life leave her and find love and acceptance without her.
Similar, people should not hate Kagome because her life wasn’t as hard as Kikyo’s, and people should also not hate her because she is so easy going and sometimes whiny. She is young, and she’s, for the most part, a normal teenage girl. She’s stubborn. But she is also incredibly kind, thoughtful, and full of motivation. As I said, she could’ve left at any time when it got hard, but she stayed.
The two share the same soul, they have the same characteristics and the same powerful spiritual energy. They just lived two completely different lives that shaped them.
So yeah there’s my rant. I first watched this anime when I was in middle school. I had moments where I totally hated Kikyo and some moments where I totally hated Kagome, both because I didn’t really understand.
But now that I’m in college and I’ve decided to rewatch it, it’s a lot different. I’m not just rooting impatiently for Inuyasha and Kagome to kiss, I’m relaxing and watching the beautiful story unfold. And I’m noticing so many things I didn’t notice before. I feel like several years from now I will go back and watch it all again and enjoy it again in a different way. It’s just that like of anime you can keep with you forever.

The author realized midway that kagome just like inuyasha needed a dark reflection of herself. Inuyasha had sesshomaru who represented the yokai pinnacle that inuyasha would never have. For kagome it became a dark version of kikyo. A fallen priestess sustaining herself with the soul of dead women.
It is good to see that the author ended his story by having these issues solved, inuyasha and sesshomaru stopped their bickering after growing up. Kikyo returned to kagome while at peace with herself.

I used to hate Kikyo for getting in the way of inuyasha and Kagome and her selfish wish to die with inuyasha. But as I grew older and after watching the Anime over and over again for 15 years, I came to understand her. Not her first Intention of killing him but her true self and tragic life. I cried like a Baby when she died, even though it bugged me that inuyasha kissed her in Front of Kagome. Kikyo Was a wonderful and kind human who wanted to protect the innocent people. Though it doesn't change the fact that I think kagome and inuyasha were meant for each other. Kagome has an admirable way of loving. She's so selfless and just wants inuyasha to be happy and to smile, even if it would mean inuyasha picks kikyo, even if she felt nothing but pain. She accepted him for what he was. And I think this was exactly what inuyasha needed. Someone who loves him the way he is and trusts him, no matter what. And I guess inuyasha will never stop loving Kikyo, his first love, but he loves Kagome more. A truly sad yet beautiful Lovestory.

At the end Kikyo was able to be with her beloved Inuyasha. Kagome was the reencarnation of Kikyo, and her love for Inuyasha was such, that her reencarnation traveled to the past to be with him. Kagome didn’t trust Inuyasha at the beginning, that was Kikyo’s soul being cautious. If you pay attention, the moment they find out Naraku was the one who attacked Kikyo and ultimately killed her, Kagome starts to trust Inuyasha more, and their love starts. She needed to know the truth to heal and finally be with him.

Totally misunderstood Kikyo back then. Back when I was young, I hated kikyo and though that it was very unfair for kagame. I rewatched all episode along with the final act. My heart broke for Kikyo and Inuyasha, a love not meant to be. They're the greatest love of each other it's just as it's not meant to be. Kagame on the other way is her correct love, filling each others differences. Not totally relying with each other. Their own presence is enough to be happy.

Inuyasha has to be one of the most underrated shows of all time and I don't understand why. It has a beautiful story, great characters, good humor, drama placed right and beautiful places. I wish people would recognize it more in the western areas since here in Hungary it's a classic, the Hungarian dub is awsome

At the Kikyo's death scene, Inuyasha doesn't think twice on kissing Kikyo in front of Kagome... That said it all. I'ts just them. She loved him, he loved her. Despite all the sadness, anger and loneliness she dealed with , even dead she kept loving Inuyasha, and in her another life as Kagome. Damn, that's love.

This show quite literally raised me. Though it had been out for 15 years or so, (I started watching it at 7) the whole concept just trapped me into the world. To be honest, I was hooked. All. eight. seasons. No one really knew what Inuyasha was and I was one of the only kids who watched anime. If they knew about anime, it most definitely wasn't Inuyasha. That show was the best thing to ever happen to me and I'll never forget it. Now the new one, Yashahime: Princess half-demon. I love how they used the same music for the show. Hearing it made a huge wave of nostalgia rush over me. I truly was surprised to find out Sesshomaru had kids, half-demons too. I had a love-hate relationship with the guy. There were points where 7 year old me wanted to rip his eye out, so the fact he had twin daughters was a real eye opener haha. Apologies for rambling, i start writing then get super side-tracked. ;-;

I’m not as crazy about anime as I used to be, but Inuyasha will forever hold a very special place in my heart. This music still gives me the same emotions it did when I first discovered the show. And the fact that they released a sequel series about their kids the same year I had my first child... That was just perfect. I’ve been watching Yashahime and I pretty much smile like an idiot through every episode because the entire time all I can think is, “Huh... We’re all grown up now.” ❤️

Ah, the anime that started it all... Inuyasha was the first anime I ever watched and the one that introduced me to the world of, well, anime. It holds such a special place in my heart.
Rewatching it for the first time since I was a child makes me feel things I haven't felt in so long. It takes me back to when times were simpler, easier, and, as much as it hurts to admit, happier. Every time I listen to Inuyasha's soundtrack, I can't help but want to cry my eyes out.
Kikyo and kagome are one. Kikyo had to be like that serious, calm, and focused because her duty was to protect the people. Now after time has passed kagome is born where it’s a time of peace and she’s allowed to be playful and free. Past present and future become one. Inuyasha is in love with both of them because they are the same and also he loves kikyo because that’s his first and true love and it’s familiar and comforting and we are drawn to our first loves even across times and in different lifetimes. True love never dies, and never gives up.

Most people hated her because of the love triangle she had with Inuyasha and Kagome. But that was one of the most interesting stuff in Inuyasha. The only thing I didn't liked about Kikyo was that she gave the jewel to Naraku. It was just a pepega move.

I fell in love with her from the first time I saw the movie. and I never stopped crying when I watched her die in Inuyasha's arms no matter how many times I watched it. I was only 9 years old at the time, but I still somewhat understood what she had to go through. I still remember how disgruntled I was when scrolling down to the comments and seeing people saying harsh words to her, even cursing the people who loved her :( I don't understand how they can become so. but In the end, Inuyasha became a part of my childhood and Kikyo was also the first female character that I fell in love with.Thanks for everything.

I lived in Korea till age of 9 and I am now 25. I grew up reading/watching Inuyasha along with Detective Conan and DBZ.
When I watched Inuyasha as a kid, I just paid attention to the action scene. I started rewatching this show and I never realized how beautiful this anime is. I honestly think Inuyasha is one of the best anime.
I could not relate more. Everything you said is exactly what happened to me. I remember watching Inuyasha and Detective Conan in Korean. Because I was born and raised in Korea for a while, I grew up listening to the main OST of When They Cry. Nostalgia hurts. 😔

Inuyasha got me through foster care, it was my distraction from my confusion, it got me through many hard times. I took so much from the show. The core story line is unlike any other. The endurance of love, friendship, heartaches, tragedies, etc. The interactions between characters. Their development. Not to mention the beautiful music!! The fact that it’s still going, makes this in my opinion the best anime ever.

I have read many comments about Inuyasha here. They were all beautiful. I was moved to tears reading this and listening to this beautiful music. Back then I was 9-10 and now I am 15. I just remembered Inuyasha that I searched for it and found this. Thank you very much for uploading this video. I am moved to tears. Back then I was very young that I didn't understand the story well and didn't get to watch it much. But now when I think of it and read these comments, I understand that this is not just a story a person wrote. This helps people stand up. This heals them. I am healed too. I am so happy. I used to wait to watch this on TV when I was a kid, but couldn't get to watch all so I will watch it and understand. I felt the same pain as Kikyo about a year ago. Its time for me to get over it. This is my favorite show guys! Stay healthy and strong everyone!
It’s a beautiful story, I love it. For me, what makes this even more sad is that it’s usually Kikyo shown here. It just shows even more about how beautiful and sad Kikyo’s soul is. Whenever Kikyo would also appear or moments where Kikyo is there, sad beautiful music would start playing.
The soundtrack is so beautiful, hearing it always gives me a sense of being in a world full of fantasy, action, battle, but most of all, love.
The kind of love that triumphs over all trials.

While some people are hating on Kagome I think her love story is sad too, her knowing she was a reincarnation of a women who Inuyasha loved, She knew that Inuyasha would pick kikyo over her so she does her best to keep cool and support them, but it pains her so much. She knew she wasn’t suppose to fall in love with him but she did...it’s common...Falling in love with a guy who has been there for you and protected you...I think Kagome deserve some love too...she had to bear it and see Inuyasha and Kikyo kiss so many times infront of her and not make a single move to stop them and stood there watching them. it’s like she’s glad for them and she doesn’t mind Inuyasha taking Kikyo’s side, A sad love story for Kagome...That’s why I love her so much in the anime. Cause I felt the pain she felt before.

Sekual Tyranosaur Yeah, if you think about it, most of this music was played during the scenes with Kikyo and Inuyasha. Which means their relationship had a lot of sadness and pain connected to it. So, I think that was proof that they were never going to be together forever. Where as Inuyasha said Kagome was the one who taught him to smile, their relationship was full of happiness and support. (I am of course still a little salty that he kissed Kikyo like 10 times and I'm pretty sure we only say him kiss Kagome once, in the last episode too.)

Estoy viendo Inuyasha esta cuarentena ya que cuando niña nunca pude verla completa y no la entendia. Debo decir que amo esta serie completamente, me transmite una magia que desde hace mucho no sentía, me emociona y hasta me ha hecho reir y llorar. Fue una buena decisión comenzar a verla❤

fué la mejor decisión de tu vida ya que en lo personal Inuyasha es algo indescriptible ya que no solo me hace conectar con esa niña que veía cada capítulo con una inmensa emoción sino que aún a mis 20 años lo sigo amando y me pongo nostálgica al ver cada capítulo, al escuchar los soundtrack y al cantar los openings y endings.

Japanese music and anime and movies and series. Can never be old. The new ones are awesome and as they get old they get better. I remember watching inuyasha and I still love it. I can't explain what I'm feeling, it's like I'm never bored, you cannot be bored when the Japanese exist.

In the inu yasha manga,I only remember kikyo. She is the key and soul of the whole story. Sad stories are always poetic and inspirational to the artist. Kikyo is an impressive and excellent character . Kikyo, there are many elements that make up humanity in life. And this song reminds me of her.

I hear this, and I think that Inuyasha's story could not have been more tragic, starting with the death of his human mother, who struggled to have her half-demon son, whose father had died. He was despised all his life for being a half-human Youkai, until he met a woman, the love of his life, which he had to see die based on a false betrayal caused by a bandit who wanted that woman at all costs, Thanks to that he was sealed in a tree for 50 years with a grudge towards that person he had loved so much. Then the whole main story occurs, full of death and sad and emotional moments, he had to fight against all adversities for his love, for what he wanted and to live a normal life in peace. When it was all over, he waited 3 years to see Kagome again, IT WAS 53 YEARS FOR HE TO FINALLY BE AT PEACE. After some quiet years, out of nowhere he had to abandon her daughter, the fruit of her pure love, leaving her orphan and alone in such a cruel world. At this point I think Inuyasha must have all the good in the world for all that he suffered :(
THE MOST SAD OF ALL IS THAT IF YOU THINK IT RIGHT, IN THE FUTURE KAGOME, SANGO AND MIROKU WILL DIE LIKE HUMANS THAT THEY ARE AND INUYASHA IS GOING TO KEEP ALIVE SINCE THE DEMONS LIVE MANY MORE YEARS, AND MY BABY WILL BE LONE WITHOUT HIS LOVE OR HIS FRIENDS.

The members of the great demon dog family also suffered the same fate with the previous generation. They seem to be the strongest, but their lives are filled with loneliness, sadness, and loss.
At least when Inuyasha returned, he had a daughter with him for the rest of his life after Kagome, Sango, and Miroku are gone. He also has his brother's family, who now sympathize with Inuyasha's feelings more than before. It's still a more happy ending for Inuyasha than living and watching everyone pass away... all alone.

Knowing that this video was published 5 years ago but people still watching it and coming back to it every day give me some really deep feelings I remember when i was in the 4th grade every time i come back from school i watched Inuyasha I cried when kikyo died and when the show was over I cried so hard not letting my family knowing because they're gonna laugh at me it was such a great memories but know everybody's Talking about naruto one piece attack on Titan and all new generation anime while forgetting this master piece .

i sometimes wonder does the unselfishh love still exist. The way that kagome loves inuyasha without any expectations and even that episode that she choose to stay along side with him even when he did choose to stay behind kikyo. And everything that inuyasha does for kagome he does is pure for her and not for his own need.

Well i don't know. Any person I know wouldn't even admit their feelings to their crush. Imagine admitting your love for your crush and still smile saying that you would still stay with them even if they still love someone else.
