@@Gerthoi Well this is a good example of what I'm saying. That's really not good, he can barely do it, there's ho highs, no real low, he doesn't even sound like himself. So, two things can be happening here, he's just not into it and doesn't give all or he just can't do it anymore. Either way, it sucks.
This was the ultimate peak of Michaels growling. Holy shit, he sounds like a freaking demon.

mikael is quite underrated for his vocal ability
I remember seeing Bloodbath at the Party San Open Air. Åkerfeldt was totally drunk and kept missing the microphone stand, but nailed every song. He also told a joke that I found hilariously funny, but forgot five minutes later. To this day I don't know which joke that was.

Yes, when it comes to talking Bloodbath, sadly only Mikael is talked about whilst everyone forgets Axe, Anders, Peter, Dan & Jonas' contribution to the songwriting, composition etc.
Mikael is, hands down, the best vocalist (not just death metal). To be able to play the guitar with strings upside down is madness but Dan played it with such ease.

The guy showing off by playing the guitar upside down, Dan Swanö, started off as the drummer in this band. A lot of the best songs on this set are from "Resurrection through carnage" that he drummed on, and also wrote. Straight-up legend.

Opeth fan. Saw that both Mikael and Axe were in a band called bloodbath. Wacken concert is on UA-cam. Watched. Got 7 new items in my shopping baskets.
You will not be disappointed. The first three bloodbath albums are like an out-of-body experience.

Saw opeth on tour with God forbid and nevermore. While nevermore was great, Opeth fucking crushed it for their Blackwater Park tour and Mike was the nicest guy to meet. Hard to believe that voice could come out of such a soft spoken man!
