I would like to see the equivalent 40Kwh comparison. If I purchase the Leaf it would be as 2nd car. So the smaller battery/price has more interest.

Awesome! I own the lower range version of the Kia Soul EV, so I completely understand. That's been the perfect car for just about all of our driving. We haven't gone on any big trips, but 200 kms in a day isn't a problem for us, and we have zero range anxiety at those distances. I'll try to get it on video too. Thanks for watching!

Can you do for 2023 Hyundai Kona Preferred Sun and leather

I've reviewed the Kona Electric recently on this channel, but I don't have that specific model available to me right now. If it becomes available, I'll do a video for sure!

The Leaf's biggest problem is that it doesn't have battery cooling and heating. The battery overheats during fast charging. It's a big shame and a missed opportunity for Nissan, because for me the Leaf is a great electric car! :-) There are ev's on market that already have battery thermo-management and costs the similar price e.g. Citroen C4-e, Hyundai Kona etc.. I can't understand Nissan why did it, there was possibility to utilize air-conditioning for cooling like Ionqi I has...

While I sympathize your pain regarding missed opportunities by Nissan with battery cooling and heating (especially A/C for cooling the battery pack), I live and drive in the mild climate of the greater Seattle, Washington area. My OEM 2015 24kWh battery pack had 83% State of Health @131k miles before I upgrade this Leaf with a 62 kWh @ 97% State of Health.

@@lelandhetrick205how much did you pay to upgrade your 2015 to a 62kwh?

    • @Poteluz

Yeah that's crazy that they haven't implemented it especially with all the issues the original Leaf had with it's battery because of it.

@@Poteluz Retails $14,000 early last year. It may become more expensive as healthy 62 kWh battery packs are difficult to source. Six months went by before they found a suitable candidate. Fortunately, I am the stubborn sort that could wait.

@@lelandhetrick205 wow $14000, that's crazy. I've seen used 2018 Chevy Bolt EV with 30,000 miles going for that price and even less sometimes.

It is absurd that Nissan still uses the Chademo in the 2023 North American market. Most Public chargers may have 1 Chademo vs 3 or 4 CCS.

    • @PeterLoweOne
      @PeterLoweOne  Рік тому

Yeah, I'll admit, I was not expecting that. I knew that they used them in the past, but I opened the 2023 model and was pretty surprised to see it!

people talk a lot about ccs for fast charging but from what i see from other manufacturers it doesn't charge much faster. Bolt charges slower
apart from tesla there are not many manufacturers that charge faster

Moreover, I read since Nov 2022, more Tesla stations are opening up for CCS vehicles w/ adapters. Tesla NACS connectors have become known as the North American Charge Standard. Several manufacturers have indicated that in a few years, the NACS connector will become standard on their vehicles. We are seeing history in the making for fast charging tech.

Very interesting peter but I can’t even find an EV on Jim Gilbert’s website. Worst website I’ve ever used no vehicle search even available for EV’s

I've never been an advocate of their website, and they know that. But feel free to give them a call, they really do have great people. Even with a website that isn't up to my standards, they've still found tremendous success by taking care of their customers.

Seen it in the show room not an electric fan the car is ugly and over priced. If Nissan made an electric Rogue I would probably be interested. I would say an electric Maxima or Altima but those two cars are going to be dropped like the Titan.
