I'm here today because I hit my buddy's Mavrik and loved it. I'm hitting PXG 0811. Well I just ordered my Mavrik yesterday. 4th driver in 4 years by the way. I really hit this club well and the sound is amazing. I'm 61 and was hitting this club 265- 275 yards. Can't wait to get it hopefully Thursday. Good stuff James.
One of the best sounding drivers ever, it actually sounds like it is solid, not hollow. Almost like a persimmon driver. Cant wait to hear it outside (once the 2' of snow disappears.)

I had already made my mind up to put one of these in the bag before they were even officially released. My Son’s name is Maverick so that seems to be as good a reason as any to me.
Purchased, numbers came back better for me than the M4 that I’ve had for 2 years. Unreal bit of kit, love it. Club head speed UP Ball speed slightly UP Spin 2200 👌🏻 Carry & distance down a touch but I’m still 278 carry with the mavrik so 🤷🏻♂️ WINNER.
Should've called it the postman with that colour looks like Ian Poulter should've been using it when he had that disastrous wardrobe issue 🤣.great review James
Another honest great review. I totally agree it's all about the feel and sound. You work all week and when you go out to play golf (not a lot at the moment due lovely weather lol) you want to enjoy the equipment you play with.
Good video, glad to see and hear you got miked up as the sound is much more enjoyable. I like the color, Rick Fowler would like that color too. Plus the sound of that at impact is very pleasing.
@@leeroberts8824 I haven't unsubbed anyone, I like Crossfield for the way he tries to substantiate manufacturer claims with his own unique style. Rick's stuff is really slick now, but seem to watch him less and less. I just think James is killing it atm.
@@liamdobson6624 Always come to Robbo first. I think Shiels is a victim of his own success. Hard to keep coming up with new ways to keep that many people interested even though his content is top notch.
Being a tinkerer I prefer drivers with moveable weights, but I think I could get this to work. Definitely not a fan of the colour but might try it out later in Spring when it FINALLY STOPS RAINING
I like your reviews very much but as I´m a 9 hdcp (with a Rogue driver looking for a new one) and a much slower club speed than you, I think the mid handicapper reviews are more relevant for me so if you would, please.
Personally I love the burnt orange/black color scheme on the driver and would probably like the custom white/black driver as well but I don't understand what they were thinking on a goldish color on the head cover. James I would have to say only 1 real left shot with this driver compared the others is something to think about and in another color scheme for you of course.
Looking forward to hitting. Think it looks horrible. Currently play the epic flash sz. Would love to see difference between cobra, Taylormade sim and mavrik 👍🏻👍🏻
My Golf Spy agree with you about the colour/appearance, as do i. They say allegedly that a large chunk of the Callaway reps didn't know how they were expected to sell it to retailers.
Agree with the colour scheme but a custom version would be 👌 much prefer a non moveable weight too, I always wonder if I have it in the right setting or whether I might be making things worse
You hit this one pretty well. You pretty much stayed away from the big L. Hard to tell the sound. Not a bad looking club. I like the color choices. Carry on James.
How do you get that ball speed I swing around 112-115 average and I can only get 150 on my Harmon g80. Other then the occasional bomber I’m doomed. My Consistency is terrible ☹️
James, would like to see you put the Mavrik head to head with the Rogue, given the Mavrik is from that line and not a replacement of the Epic Flash line.
It’s nice you can go to the custom shop to change the driver color. But the fairways and hybrids come in the same orange and you can’t change them. So, if you don’t like orange, then what?
James, I really like it. Head to Head against the Cobra? Very nice shape. Looks like a golf club. Don't really like the new color, I liked the green better. Small thing. Edit: of there's a lot of colors? Well... Nevermind then.
I’d love to see a review of this up against something like the x2 hot so we can see if technology has really made that much of a difference. I’ve been a member of my local club for a number of years and my longest driver I’ve ever owned is still the Nike Covert 2.0 with the standard Kuro Kage shaft.
The spelling and color scheme, at least for my game, are irrelevant in how the club plays..... it could be pink with Mickey Mouse painted on it I would care less as long as it is a beast off the tee, which it is.... have been playing this club for 18 months and love it !!
The color is bad but it's still less important than sound, which is still less important than performance. If the orange bugs somebody that much, they should spent $100 or $150 and send it off for a refinishing and new paint job. Besides, will you (or anybody) care the solor on the sole of your driver when you're hitting bombs by them?
That color is not for me. Given new driver prices, it also has to be significantly better in distance and tighter dispersion for me to replace the driver I bought in 2019. Marketing has to be backed up by performance.
The fact that they undercut the Sim ($550) for $500 and give it a FUGLY colorway is just a con move so you spend $600 for the custom colors. That way you say, it's really only $50 more because it was such a good deal...

It matches the colour scheme of my Callaway bag. The head cover especially. That, coupled with reviews, has put Mavrik on my radar.

Never been a fan of Callaway, but I like the look and sound of the Mavrik.

The colour reminds me of the old taylormade burner woods. Not sure that's what they going for
Have to go through the Custom shop to fix the color scheme. My Epic Flash Sub-Zero has red accents instead of the green & yellow and it's sexy!

I think the big difference in the latest drivers is not good drives, but bad drives...........I think the misses are much better.
Looks good and seems to work well , but Santa brought me the Cobra F9 so my next driver will be in 2025 as they cost silly money for 1 bat !!!

If they're charging extra for custom colours, maybe they made the standard orange deliberately ugly so you'd pay more for something you don't hate!
