Hey back again! Congrats on the record!! With this track being so long, I wouldn't be surprised to see more records broken. The grind on this level takes so much. I do have question though. I'm under the assumption that we can only use og controllers to make standings official. It's getting harder each year to snag a really good controller. Are the top players just loaded up on prestine controllers and/or a crowd accepted stick upgrade that keeps things in check?
You don't have to use OG controllers. 3rd party ones are fine but they aren't as user friendly for this game. Some people are moving to steel bowl and steel sticks for less wear and Tare. From the site rules "We recommend using the original N64 controller, but third party controllers are allowed as long as additional functionalities are not used. Use of rapid-fire functionality on third party controllers is not allowed. Use of controllers that map buttons to analog stick inputs is not allowed."
Hey, Dossey answered your question somewhat already but it's actually a great question. Controller issues are the single most frustrating part of this game for me and I'll bet it would be up there for Matthias too if you asked him. I have bought upwards of 150 controllers in the 10 years I've been playing this game competitively and a large majority of them did not fit my liking. Eventually someone set me straight and got me to start buying only sticks and stick parts rather than entire controllers so now what I do is just buy used controller stick lots on ebay. There are companies that make sticks that are apparently somewhat close to a first party stick but I have not tried them yet.
Also for someone who's recently got into the top 50, I've used maybe 3-4 controllers in as many years. I would say the higher you push up the ranks the harder it becomes to get a controller that suits your style. I can adapt to different controllers and their conditions but it's getting more difficult
Hi, yes my KTB time *was* a real world record. It was played on the PAL (European) version of the game which runs approximately 1.2024 times slower than the NTSC (American) version. Since very early on in the community's history times from the PAL version were converted to NTSC to have one leaderboard and it has stayed that way every since. Hence why you see me put the NTSC conversions in parentheses after each time I set. You are playing on an NTSC system for which I have the NTSC world record of 1.19.39 - ua-cam.com/video/kvn_RUv-zkg/v-deo.html
Wow the lead changes in that run were wild, so much potential still
Wow, I wonder how far down this track can go! Great wr!

Matthias now has a 1.35.17 on KTB so .01 faster than me on PAL
@@danielburbank1669 I’ve done 1.34.98 this week

@@danielburbank1669 yeah, I’m not playing NTSC. The karts are way slower than that in my version. I’m playing on a UK version of the Switch.
