Often it's not the job, but the people at the job making the environment unbearable.

Yeah. I am hearing a lot of that from people. They need to put some kind of legislation in place because it's hurting people financially. It's harder to hold down jobs if the people there are crazy.

@@Corina-dq2my True i work so hard and these co-workers always make fun of me for working so hard in a minimum wage job, and then i become a bad guy because im the guy that sets the bar at work, my manager likes me because i work hard lol but if she wasn't a manager she'd hate me too lol, i would love to just work quietly alone but man the motherfuckers at the workplace give me such a hard time, my things is if i work faster time will go faster, the reason why some people hate their jobs is because they work slow so time feels slow

Couldn't agree more. While all of the jobs I've worked were terrible, every one of them would've been tolerable if I didn't have to interact with rude, condescending, arrogant, gossipy, immature co-workers.

I’ve been called a POs and loser but I worked at dominos for 2 years. A stupid Brazilian girl started working and the GM the boss wanted to fuck her he became obsessed so he turned into a simp and I got fired because she liked me. But my sons mother looks at me like I’m a pos who doesn’t want to provide for his family. I’ve tried even using this POS but no lawyer will take it. And also I’m white and 35 nobody gives a F about me and my problems. There is no foundation for me. There is no Justice for when I’m wronged.

I wish I could could share a solution for you younger people, but I don't have one. My only conclusion is that it's a the freedom to come and go as I please, and that comes at a price. Best I can tell you is live within your means and don't buy into keeping up with the Jones. Thanks for keeping it real.

capitalism is system when you can change your master at will now and get brief relief/dopamine that comes with change - but when you look at it, not much different than feudalism.
Coerced servitude and exploitation will remain.
Would argue things got worse in some ways, because now you are expected to pay entirely for housing and food.
      People on unemployment etc
don't count because someone else is paying their way to live, so guess that improved?
It does mean however someone else will be exploited twice to sustain their lifestyle.

@ArchIVEDCinema one, jobs were plentiful during most of my working life. Two, I was a journeyman machinist/maintenance mechanic. All they cared about was if someone could actually do the job. Three, reference checking wasn't so prevalent and I lied on applications. Things are different now and I would imagine more difficult to do that, but having a skilled trade would still help.

I've told people over and over, "Jobs don't want GOOD workers, they want OBEDIENT employees".
Look at how many co-workers we've had or have that are straight morons, makes u wonder how they've been there so long, but then u see how fake and brown-nosing they are, it all makes sense.
I tell people to learn a skill, I established an auto repair "side hustle" right out of high school, and it eventually became my full time self employment.
I still go back to "work" every once in a while to test the waters or when a company needs help(I got a CDL, hvac and welders cert.)...and man, nothing's changed, i can see why companies are always hiring.
The only thing that's always kept me afloat, is my loyal clients that still bring me cars after over decade..!

Anybody who’s struggling to stick with a job or any type of commitment (college, training, etc), you’re not damaged. Some people have adapted, and some of us haven’t and that’s okay. Don’t waste your energy and value on something you “can’t” do. Pour more into what you can do while strengthening your stress tolerance “muscle”

I've always gotten pissed off and did the same thing and quit. I barely ever got fired and if I did it was cause I wanted to be. It's always a manager of boss talking shit to me when I bust me ass repeatedly and don't appreciate it. They're scumbags. I'm cool with the owner though. It didn't help me as far as getting a raise or anything but it was like hanging out with a friend of mine who had a lot of money and liked the same shit I liked. The majority of people think it's normal to be abused and think it's abnormal for people to stand up for themselves. That says plenty about who they are. If you get a job people in management roles should understand they arent leaders or authority. They're just managers that's it.

100% with the headphones. Back when I tried to put myself in the workforce I found a job on a campground described as “janitorial” I thought sweeping and cleaning, nope. They wanted me to only clean toilets and drive a golf cart from toilet to toilet all day. Completely nasty conditions that they just expect to get cleaned for minimum wage, even the employee area where they took breaks was disgusting. whatever i think to myself and put my headphones on as I’m driving the cart from washroom to washroom. I was going no faster than 2km/hour at max speed and the job was done alone, the funny thing is the campground attendees actually liked me and chatted with me when they saw me driving around. Management was all cliquey old women who were mad I just showed up to do my job and didn’t gossip or talk to them. Told me it’s “dangerous” and a “hazard” to listen to music while cleaning toilets. finally a video on this topic that isn't spewing bullshit like "you're a chosen one" or tells you to just start a business/be self employed. maybe that is the path for some of the people like this but for a majority the reality is they're never gonna be making 7+ figures driving around in a lambo like they like to dream about, they're never gonna be famous and nobody ever talks about how costly and time consuming constant job hopping can be (i can attest to it). if you weren't born into a rich family life is hard work and a lot of people don't wanna put that work in, they want the instant gratification. i've been working a part time temp job which makes it easier knowing i'm not "stuck here" and don't have to work at the same place for 20+ years like our parents and grandparents generation without seeming like a serial quitter/bad employee but after this i have to grind hard doing a 9-5 even for just a little bit bc i want better for myself (thank god i'm child free). good luck to you

It is good that you are taking responsibility for yourself but the american way is messed up and doesn't make sense. They want us to give all of our time just to get by while the few at the top enjoy all of the fruits of OUR labor. The "american dream" is really just to spend all of your time working just to buy a bunch of material crap that you hardly ever even have time to enjoy. I think the key for us poor people is to work really hard for about five years and sacrifice a lot to save a good chunk of money to invest (either in passive income or a small piece of land and small dwelling) and then live very minimalistically and find some work we can tolerate for about three days a week to pay for our basic needs. I feel that this is the only way that we can get out of working full time until the day that we die. I mean could you imagine answering to a boss half your age ,and half your wisdom if that, while your approaching your last days alive?

My issues is when my contract ends I end up being out of a job which ranges between a few months to a few years, I mostly end up being out of a job when I am around people who are abusive towards me I am a quite individual and as long as I can go into work and do the job that I am hired to do I am happy, I will also be ambitious enough to learn my job and progress when others around me see that I go into work and am quite they see that as an opportunity to just run their mouth and say whatever abusive stuff they want and that ends with a few things happening: I will either end up with an attitude where I will go into work whenever I want, I will call in sick because I don’t want to face those abusive people my sickies would be a way to give the employer a reason to end my contract, I will tell my employer or agency what is going on and they will say it’s all in my head.

This came at the right time. I'm done working for morons. I'm done working for people who don't appreciate my honesty and hard work just because I have to keep up with their insecurities. I am choosing a peaceful and healthy lifestyle now.

This is really good advice. 9 to 5 jobs exist and office jobs exist, but they're not worth it. They're just as bad and they pay the same as fast food jobs now. Plus, you get to deal with more unnecessary drama and people can be really fucking cruel. I decided to switch to a manufacturing job that I think I can handle because I tried to make it work for years in the administrative field and it just wasn't working. I got fired from a job for the first time and I was facing homelessness. I really hope that I can make this work because this is the most money that I will have ever made so far. At the end of the day, you have to keep it as impersonal as possible because people will use anything against you to get ahead. Find a job that you think you can reasonably handle. Go to work. Show up on time. Do your job. And go home. Make money. Do overtime if you have to. Then, live your life as you see fit. Dream jobs don't exist for most people.
