What an incredible singer and person Ed was. When I lived in Dayton, Ohio I was lucky enough to catch Ed performing in Fiddler on the Roof on stage at the Memorial Hall. A nice guy to boot.
Another great man and singer gone. Not many good singers on radio now. They dont make em like Ed anymore, sadly. And horrible noise passes for music now.
Love all of your shows TJ . Ed Ames was not only a great singer but such a personality on the talk shows I watched growing up. TJ please continue with the My Music shows and if you can DVD more. Sweet music memories .
At this point I guess Mr. Ames was 76 or 77 years of age, and he still could carry those notes. I was a fan of his since the early 70's. I have his vinyl "grestest hits album" which I listen to very oftenly. His most well known and commercial hits were My Cup Runneth Over and Try to Remember. He indeed was a sublime, dramatic, good singer.
I've loved Ed Ames since I was a very small child. When I was a young teen, he toured with Kenley Players performing South Pacific. My mom made sure I got to see him. I had to use the ladies room before the show. We had a direct pipeline to backstage and could hear Ed warming up! The man had a very powerful voice! I'll never forget that day! He will be missed, but for now, I will listen to the vinyl albums I've collected and bask in his magnificence!
All the quantity of real talent we had back then. And Ed Ames was one of them. Like many other singers from the past, he gets playing time in my house. RIP 🌹🌹
My Cup Runneth Over was always a special song for my husband and myself for years. He unexpectedly passed away December 12, 2023. Makes me tear up every time I hear Ed Ames singing our special song.
I could listen to this over and over, just to admire how his voice just got richer. "My Cup Runneth Over" was favorite of my family, and my parents would put the record on the stereo and dance around the room.
What a wonderful voice. I have always liked My Cup Runneth Over and Do You Hear What I Hear.
Age has even made his beautiful voice even more beautiful. Much LOVE...

Mr. Ames was around 80 years old in this video. Yet, he never sounded better. An amazing talent and great man.

I believe that he was over 80 years old in this performance but he sure didn't sound like it

Ed Ames was the best singer of all times. Just try to sing one of his songs and then compare what you sound like to him.
Does anyone know what year this video was made?
