Well this is true, BBC were only concerned with painting the picture of homophobia, the bigger the beard the better. The activists pointed out for me as being a clue of who the information is targeted to. These cartoon illustrations that promote homosexuality, teenagers won't find that appealing but primary school children will.

Thats a pretty stupid reply. Teaching children about the world around them is what school is about. Its about reality and inclusion of children who's parents might be different from others. That is what they are teaching. When we say 'didn't see that coming' it has hit the left wing liberalism in the face because they have been blind to what was a long time coming with a 7th century regressive religion that is far from inclusive and liberal and quite the opposite.

Apart from that the Islamic world has achieved nothing apart from corner shops that break their own laws by selling alcohol.

Such as “some males feel like they are girls” and not “it’s morally right/wrong to accept if males when they believe they are girls”. SIMPLE. Or if you want to present the different view points, you can: “some people believe gender 100% is caused by you anatomy/chromosomes, while some people believe, no matter the person’s anatomy, someone can identify as whichever gender they please...” taking the neutral stance, allowing kids to discuss it with their peers and parents.
Whether you agree with one side or the other of the debate concerning lgbt equality lessons doesn’t necessarily matter. What truly matters is if you believe the state and government should(or not) be indoctrinating children, and should parents have a say or not in a process of indoctrination.
It is important to note there is a difference between exposure and indoctrination, full exposure let’s the kids decide for themselves and they’re not outrightly being manipulated.

Religion is a choice. Being gay isn't, people need to understand. Simple. You cannot become gay or become straight if you aren't. 100% the homophobic views are bourne out of ignorance, I agree. When will ALL religiously conservative communities understand that their lack of teaching about tolerance (at the least) is leading to severely prejudiced views against LGBT people. And they claim not to be homophobes. LGBT people from within those religious communities receive very damaging conflicting messages leading them into a state of denial, being closeted and adverse mental health effects. If you're not going to teach about gay relationships, the least you can do is to teach about tolerance and not being abusive towards people who don't share the same views. LGBT people are being persecuted within religious communities for this reason you can see it in the video! It is incredibly hypocritical for anyone from the Muslim community to preach homophobic views whilst simultaneously claiming to be the victims of islamophobia.
Better yet, let's not import ultra Conservative people en-masse into our country.
Who is arguing any of that? People of faith don't say that having gay sexual urges is a sin, it's acting on it that is deemed sinful (at least in Islam). They believe that refraining from sin and repenting if necessary will get them a chance at paradise and fending off a trip to hell. You might call that ignorant but you saying that will not change anything and don't try to suggest that every person, religious or not, suffers adverse mental health effects for refraining from their desires, whatever desire that may be.

Someone can be religious one day and not the next or vice versa. Besides we pride ourselves as a liberal democratic society on our freedom of speech. We just have to agree to disagree on matters of opinion, what I cannot stand however is when someone impinges on the freedoms of another due to their freedom of religion. Religious people have the freedom to believe what they want, what they DO NOT have is the right to interfere in anyone else's private life, in this case LGBT people. The Muslim demographic also has the highest fertility rates in the country and by 2050 they will represent almost 20% of the UK's population. There will be no liberal democracy when conservative Muslims reject Western values and would prefer to live under a theocratic system. Maybe it's best we don't import these people into our country and avoid the problems such as FGM, terrorism, child marriage, polygamy, honour killings and numerous other alien customs with them.

When I see what's going on around the world, I'm more convinced that Our Lord Jesus is on His way and not that far. Than again, no one , not Him nor the angels in heaven know the day this will be. Only the Father knows. God gives men free will to choose their life style, but it must be in accordance with His laws. In the end He will asks each one, " Why didn't you follow my laws?." I agree that children should not be exposed to this topic of behavior at schools. If so it can create great confusion in them. I know man that were dressed with girls clothing when they were little and they turned out homosexual. Their mothers would dress them like that because they looked "cute." Children are like sponges. This is why we must be careful what we teach them. Sex education should be taught during middle school as they reach teen years. Parents should also talk to their teens on this topic. As for me, I'm concerned with all the unrest that's going on in the world. All we can do is pray to God for world peace and for His guidance and protection every day. The Muslim community in Britain, elsewhere in Europe and the world, is fighting for equal rights, against discrimination, intolerance, islamophobia etc. Yet in the same breath, they turn around and readily advocate against other communities, in this case the LGBT community, preaching and fighting to deny their rights. So you are asking for the rights you want to deny others...The thing about human rights is that they are universal and don't belong to any community or minority in particular. Either all have them, or no one has them...there is no in-between. Something Muslims and others may also want to think about when pleading with the rest of the world for tolerance and understanding.

As a parent I send my kid to school to learn math, science, and language. My expectation is that the educators are experts in their fields and are best equipped to educate my children in these areas. It was not always the domain of schools to teach on these subjects and I believe the parents are best equipped to instruct their children in the areas of relationships and sexuality. I am not Muslim but I believe every parent who is raising their children has the right to instruct their children on what form of relationships they believe are best for their children. That being said the schools have the right to inform the parents that any form of bullying by their child towards another raised with different values will not be tolerated.

Schools should teach the basics regarding sex and how babies are made, they should teach not to bully or treat people badly because they are different from how the majority live their lives regarding sexuality, but other than that leave the rest for the parents to explain. I actually think the Muslim community here might be on to something. What if homosexuality or transgenderism is not determined at birth? What if it is malleable? In that case, the teaching might affect the children. We now have rapidly increasing numbers of people who believe that they are born as the wrong sex - and people who believe that about themselves are likely to be depressed as a result. Why do we have such a rise, and does a link with depression, etc, mean that such a rise is undesirable?
So actually the right and wrong of this all hangs on two propositions: firstly, in order to bring kids up to be tolerant, is it necessary to give them the impression early on in life that every variety of existence/behaviour (which might be a target for intolerance) is very common and unremarkable?
Secondly, is human sexuality (and I think in this case gender identity) at all malleable?
If the answer to the second question is 'No', then any discrimination and/or marginalization is not only cruel and damaging, but it is also pointless and unnecessary.
But if it is 'Yes', then it becomes a utilitarian debate about which course of action avoids the greater evil.

While today's society being gay or trans is far better than 50 years ago, they still face challenges. Personally, I don't see issues with letting children know about gay/trans, we do live in a society where it is okay to be gay/trans. to those who want to know what i mean by this (this is my own personal opinion as i'm sure the Muslims have their own reasons). I have 2 issues with this 1. i have a big issue with the age that they are aiming at teaching towards which is 5 years old, at this age they are too young and innocent and still believe in father Christmas, we need to first teach them about where babies actually come from first before sexuality and preference. the appropriate age i think is 10-15 years old at this age they would know how they feel, who they are and what choice they want to take, they are mature enough where as 5 year old if you think they can make decisions like transsexual and transgender then they are mature enough to work and at 5 yrs they can be manipulated into doing what you want them to do as they believe whatever the teachers and adults tells them. my other issue is if its forced by the government through schools then its classed as an agenda and you cant favour one over the others, if you want equality and diversity then why not teach both left wing and right wing politics and christian beliefs plus Islam at least then its fair.if its also about teaching they are kids who have 2 dads or 2 mums i'm sure as parents we can tell them about this as its our job as parents whereas its the teachers job to prepare them for work ie maths, English, science etc not you got to believe this or no one at school will like you.

It's not about the children, it's about the parents and their fear about anything different from the way they were taught. Children can be taught to be accepting or to be fearful and scared (hateful) of the scapegoats that their parents loathe and put down.

Let me make myself very clear: Sexual orientation is NOT a choice. Any child (yes, kids of practicing muslims, as well) can be gay, bi, lesbian or queer. It's not a matter of choice. The sooner we start teaching kids that being anything other than straight is just as normal as being "gay", the sooner we can hope to see more widespread acceptance no matter who you are, where you live or what you do. In my opinion, when it comes to the age restriction criteria, kids should be taught about LGBTQ+ rights as soon as they are old enough to start using the word "gay" in a pejorative way, as that is when they start grasping what "gay" is about, albeit in a flawed way.
Hence, no homophobic shield masquerading as "religious freedom" in schools.

As a Muslim father with three young children and as a close friend and colleague of someone who identifies as gay, I can see both sides of this story. There are people who hate Muslims and use this as an excuse for showing their hate and there are people who hate gay people and use this an excuse.
I am well aware that Islam prohibits sexual relationships outside marriage like it prohibits alcohol, adultery, fornication etc and Marriage in Islam is between a Man and a Woman. Does this make me as a Muslim hate my friend. Of course not and similarly like those of my friends who drink or do something that is not approved in Islam, do I hate them? Of course not. Why would I? What they do in their personal lives is not something that should concern me.
But do I want my children to be taught about any of the above things inc. sexual relationships or sex education by the State or the School? No. It's not the State's business to teach these things to my children. The reason is simple, I don't believe my children need to learn about it at least at such a young age. Its my responsibility to teach my children about these things and we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

Good for this PARENTS, regardless of religions, the point here is our children and handing the schools all rights when it comes to sex and family education. "FAMILY EDUCATION" should be let to the family to deal with and figure out! Dont get sidetrack as that is exactly what the left wants by making us feud between each other, when in reality we should focus on their agenda which is entirety focused on our children, while we feud they pass their bills and legislations...keep your eyes👀 on the ball its all am saying! My kid watches Hollyoaks when there is nothing too scary on. Half the cast are playing a gay character. I have no problem with representation in books but I draw the line at pc preaching which is the idea of no outsiders.

@@byteme9718 Homosexuality is condemned in both the old testament and the new testament. The Koran also condemns it. Religious people hate gay people. Funny, people who work on the sabbath are supposed to be stoned to death but the bigots don't seem to care about that. Fortunately the entire modern medical and legal communities have concluded that there is nothing wrong or unhealthy about it. If religious people had it their way they'd trash all sex education (because they hate sex of any kind actually) and then they'll trash the science classes because that contradicts their ancient scrolls as well. We'll all go back to the dark ages where evidence, data, facts, and statistics are meaningless.

Depends on what is actually been taught, how, when and to what age. From what I've seen and read, it all seems reasonable but schools will differ on the type and amount of content provided. They need external guidance from government on what is explicitly allowed and not allowed so that everyone can openly see exactly what the kids are getting and have an opportunity to contribute to the discussion without all this destructive misinformation flying around. In the meantime, invite members of the Muslim community ( and non-muslim for that matter ) into the school day. Maybe that will help assuage their fears. At the end of the day kids need to be taught how to be good citizens and that starts with learning about people's differences in a non discriminatory way.

Hmmm. Well humans do tend to like novel things. Being lgbt is novel I mean they’re not really common. Kids don’t have fully formed brains yet. Therefore they are swayed more to being special and novel and be lgb. It’s really not hard to understand that a child would sway more to something that not that common. Just think about how it will go down in class. ‘So some people have a mummy and a daddy. But there are some people who have a daddy and a daddy or a mummy and a mummy.’ If we’re assuming the child has straight parents this means the mummy and mummy or daddy and daddy will be novel and different to them which may further sway them to that. Basically this creates doubts in the child’s mind about their sexuality when they’re not supposed to be thinking about that stuff anyway.
