That accident I believe happened during the race however? However, that was 1955, the fact that nearly 50 years on they hadn't got to the point that this would be a race that should have been canceled or at least modified the safety rules for the next day/thoroughly inspected every inch of every car. It's all common sense.
@@TEGRULZ I'd like to meet you face to face and you to tell that to my face. I live in London and I am happy to meet you anywhere. Please give me a intelligible reason why 2 men died in a 24 hour period! Regardless of Senna, you know your f1 facts, please tell me
Italian law at the time clearly states that when there is a death on track at the circuit then all racing will be cancelled straight away ( they took his dead body away from the circuit then declared him dead so the race weekend could continue) The race shouldn't of even started so Senna shouldn't of been in that crash ! They didn't cancel it because Contracts = $$$ Greed killed Senna that weekend. HE was clearly dead at the track CPR was preformed on a man who was dead from is injuries then pronounced dead at the hospital 🏥
They all tried to tell the officials in the drivers meeting about the dangerous course conditions but to no avail. The show must go on no matter what right? Well, after that weekend I think all the drivers saw how expendable they were to the FIA. Shame that this happened and I don't think I will ever forgive them for letting it because Senna was my all time favorite driver.
I'm old enough to have watched this on TV at the time and it was truly shocking, little did we know at the time Roland crashed what tragedy on top of tragedy was to come the following day. For me personally only 9/11 was more of live TV shock than this race weekend. Let's also not forget it could have easily been three drivers killed in this race weekend, Rubens was very lucky.
I remember to have had a very bad feeling for this race from the Barrichello's accident !! there was "something in the air" ! I knew Ratzenberger was unfortunately dead because of his tossing head in the cockpit (I was watching the qualifying session live).....and on sunday, after Tamburello, there was just Schumacher on the screen, during a quarter of a second, ..........at that moment, I knew Senna was crashing on the wall......and I was unfortunately right !!!!!! Very very bad memories !!!!
The way Roland's head lolls to the side after the car spins is sickening to watch. That's a signal of death, right there. Horrifying to witness.
Yeah clearly not conscious at the least
If ever a Grand Prix should have been cancelled, that weekend was the single most devastating weekend in the history of a sport.
TEGRULZ it wasn't even remotely close to being that

He can’t bare looking at it.... talks to the same doctor that would sit beside him later that terrible day...
Roland, then Barichello, who with an enormous stroke of luck escaped, then Ayrton....something was very wrong with that circuit back then !
Rubens, then Roland, then Ayrton. That is the correct order.
@@RicardoSilva-qp4bb oh sure, thanks for pointing 🙏
@@Teethclenser2007 You are welcome. 👍 Just a heads up for what is an unfortunate F1 history event.
.. and then JJ Lehto. And the injured marshal. It was truly a weekend to forget.
2great drivers died in 2days in the same track..RIP

imola was hell
Sundays race should of been cancelled :-(
This doesn't really fit in but it's should've
Ulincorn not after a death mate
2 legends.
race should have been suspended.
Riposate in pace

@2:17 should have listen to old guy
Sir Sid Watkins, a f1 medic and a good friend of Ayrton
He was a true champion and he died like that, a true champion.
Old guy? That’s professor Sid Watkins, show some respect.
Ah...Senna and Sid would have made excellent fishing companions. Damn. This was hard to watch.

A day later the great man was gone too
