Bill Wellington The old firm is bigger than any game in England for rivalry, more passion, hatred, tension, Atmosphere, history etc then any game in English football by a mile, no game comes close, and the game could sell out and stadium in the world 10 times over.

Probably because he underachieved for the reason he admitted in this discussion. He was not able to find the motivation to do his job unless it was a big game. Fans can forgive lots of things, but not if they think their player isn't putting forth his best effort.
TheTruthiest I mean he’s still loved or at least liked by Spurs fans and the main reason he didn’t reach his best is because of his injuries he’s a humble guy so wouldn’t blame it on his injuries but injuries definitely affected him more than his ‘motivation’

I'm an Arsenal fan, I've never hated spurs, want them to do better than Chelsea. But don't want to finish beneath them. I think competitive respect is a more appropriate way to describe it. Probably the fact that for many years Spurs weren't near a good enough level to be competitive made it this way, though. Certainly feels a bit more intense over recent years.
