It was the night of my life when MUSE rented the black corvette from us at StudioPictureCars.com and I got to stand next to these two the entire night they filmed the "Thought Contagion" video! They are the busiest guys of all the bands I know. They are the best! They are very hands on of the filming of these videos literally!
Muse is by far one of my favorite bands ever! and of course, Woody Show is what gets me smiling through my though morning LA commute. What a perfect combo:)

If I understood well (english is not my mothertongue) he composed it during a hangover right? That explains a lot. Anyway when he said I was obsessed with work when I was 20 now I'm not, I wanted to cry...
I mean it kinda make sense since their 1st three albums are only one year apart. they work really hard tho. I remember matt said they work during tour as well. now that they're more relax and free to do whatever, sometimes fans take that for granted. they're still glorious but their peak era/year has passed... we should let them experimenting with whatever sounds they want & not tryna impress anyone anymore. but surprisingly, there are new fans coming in from Drones, Simulation Theory, so I don't think those albums are bad. everyone has their own preference in music. so it's nice to see new muse fans enjoying latest catalogue just like how we enjoy in the early days!

I love Muse, I really do. In my opinion, the six first albums, from Showbiz to The 2nd Law, and every released single in between, were absolutely fantastic. Not to mention, Bellamy's voice is heaven to listen to.
That being said... I thought the album Drones was good, but not good enough for them. And I simply don't like what they're doing now. Dig Down sounds like a bad version of Madness, and Thought Contagion sounds like an Imagine Dragon song. I don't understand why this fantastically talented band, that created masterpiece songs like Glorious, Apocalypse Please, Showbiz, Twin, Invinsible, Endlessly, Stockholm Syndrome (you get the point, the list goes on and on) is now reducing itself to this sort of unoriginal, boring music.
Anyways, Muse is still my favorite band, and yet I'm not even sure I'll buy their next album.
I think it went down after The Resistance,.
The 2nd Law is by far my least favourite album from Muse, it sounds awkward too focused on electronic rather than what I am accustomed to in the last album. Even then, Drones is a hit or miss type of album.
Dig Down is utter shit, but Thought Contagion sounds more like a Muse song to me than Dig Down does. I especially enjoyed the Mad Max feel from the Official Video that was released.
I understand that Muse is all about experimentation, I love a lot of their experimental songs in Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry, some of The Resistance is somewhat tolerable and I only enjoy the Uprising, Resistance, United States of Eurasia, and Exogenesis Symphony 1-3. Muse on the bright side is not going to the Hip Hop Route like Imagine Dragons.
Drones is awesome. The Resistance is also awesome... it's better than drones too. Their new album will probably be good because all of their albums are good.
Beevenhouse I agree. Having a classic music formation I love Resistance and I don't understand why some people hate that album or 2nd law, anyway their music now it's not experimental it's commercial and catchy and sounds bad. I would say because they are lazy. Or maybe they have just a lot of ego and think every song they make is perfect or they just don't have ideas and are confused about what to do now in music, I think they literally experimented everything right? Or maybe it's just his stupid girlfriend that takes him to Taylor Swift concerts.... dunno. I just know I literally can't listen to thought contagion, even if it's catchy and I like imagine dragons it's so commercial that I want to cry.
Finally somebody acknowledges that Twin is an amazing song

Don't get why people hate the New singles, I get it's different but they're both brilliant. I feel fans don't like it for that reason, I totally understand but I see no Specific reasoning.
I think because it has been soooo long since an album sounded like Origins and Showbiz that fans want a throw back to that style of play and sound.
I also think people want to hear awesome guitar riff solos and music that blends from one song to another. I think the new single is okay, but had they taken it a step further by bringing more of that solo work (which is what Bellamy is so good at), then people would have warmed to it a lot more.

No it's because they sound like any other band out there. Like imagine dragons (literally!) and 30 seconds to mars, the song is not original and it's not an experiment, but just commercial and catchy, that's why people hate it. I hate it, and my fav album is Resistance, not Absolution etc... do you get the point?

Potato ok but if they suddenly release a song like the ones of niky minaj, just because they never did it would that means it's ok and experiment? No it would suck even because niky minaj already did it right? I mean, the song isn't bad bad bad, but it's nothing compared to ALL their previous song (a part from dig down). I'm not an hardcore muse fan at all (I don't even like them they complain all the time but this time they are right), but still I dislike the song. I wouldn't if they were another band, I even like imagine dragons but they are muse they are supposed to be much better. Anyway yeah I'm happy they catched new fans. I only hope it will be a one time experiment.
Stop living in the past. No we don’t need another Citizen Erased, not another Knights nor another Showbiz. They are progressing with new sounds but still having their strong identity in its veins. Dig Down has it. And certainly Thought Contagion has it! Gets better every time I listen to it.

I really don't care where Muse go but their songwriting is way too simplistic for doing anything that's actually interesting. If Muse did something like a Trip Hop album id love it
It's not progressing, it's regressing, the music is less creative and less complex than before. The Resistance was true experiementation, a lot of it sounded nothing life previous Muse but it WAS different and it wasn't an attempt to cater to the masses.
Yes, I don't think anyone wants the same thing as they did before, all we want is something creative, and full of drama and passion! Something that characterizes them, their songs (at least in their 5 first albums) are always full of passion, and they are out of the ordinary. That's it. I don't think we live in the past, what we want is something that keeps up with their quality.

"Evolving" is a fancy word when a band is slowly dying. People use "Evolving" when they describe Muse's new music. They're not "Evolving", their new stuff is just bad. If it ain't broke, don't fix it....

Song is painfully avg, but hey it's been worse. At leat it's listenable unlike Revolt, I don't think I've actually sat through that whole song in one sitting ever.
Damn, everyone dislikes the new stuff. It's weird, Drones is my personal favorite album from theirs (Absolution and Black Holes are damn close though), and Thought Contagion might just be my 2nd favorite song of theirs, right behind Reapers. It does make sense for me though. I hate Radiohead (apart from a few songs), and Muse's first two albums had doses of that signature quality. Drones has a grittier guitar effect, almost like grunge music in a way (the riff on Reapers right before the hook sounds very Soundgarden-ish to me, which is perhaps why I like it so much).
