I love Zane, only reason i listened to BBC Radio 1. He thinks like a musician and his questions are always on point, to do with the feelings of the songs and what they meant. Man i may cry....

The 2nd Law was an album destined to get old very quickly, cause of those Dubsteb influences. There's some electronic band/genres that instead they get better with age, see some album like Kraftwerk for example that became classics. Dubsteb was shit from the beginning.

That may be, but on a practical level, I'm sure it was beneficial for them to release some sort of new material before going back on tour. Now they have at least one fresh song for the new shows.

I don't know Zane Lowe manages to sound dictatorial and sycophantic at the same time. this interview is really nauseating cos I'm not learning anything from the band. Lowe is simply spouting what he thinks the band, the song, the ideas are all about and they basically agree that, yeah, that's how it is. Then Lowe gets all creepy complimentary as if everything is absolutely wonderful about everything they say and do. I love Muse but I neither want to see their egos endlessly massaged, nor do I want someone else to direct their thoughts: Lowe's doing both!
I hope that the new album has some real rock songs in it.

why would you get in a band just to be perpetually imprisoned to one style of music and a singular face of your creativity? i cannot imagine a more boring and stiffling thing.
finally a positive comment. at the end of the day, you'll get bored of doing the same thing. the thing that you're excel at. and at one point you wanna challenge yourself doing other things. just like dom said, going out of your comfort zone 🙂
