you forgot to do 2 important things at the end of your oil change in the video. (1) when you start the engine, you should then look under the car for any possible leaks, since the oil filter won't leak without oil pressure to fill it and press for any open leak. (2) after the engine running leak check, then shut the engine off and check the oil level, when you check it before starting the engine with the New oil and filter, the new oil filter is empty and needs to fill up then your oil level will be 100% correct. overall you did a Great job on this video
Joseph Zani when changing oil, first open the engine lid and 2nd the oil screw below? shot with compressed air to drain used oil before closing the screw?
Thanks guys. I'm thinking of changing the oil in my 06 Camry myself.. never have before, so your 'how to' video is very helpful. Only one thing, in the beginning you said 5 quarts, but it only took four quarts?? But great job, Thank You
Gloves would be nice. a trick is to spin the oil drain plug until it is ready to come out, but using one finger continuously apply pressure so it can't come out. Then, just quickly pop it out real fast so oil doesn't get all over yourself. Also, keep a magnet nearby, just in case the drain plug falls into the oil collection pan. ---Take the bottom bolts of the splash shield off and just bend it out of your way without damaging it. Then place pan under oil filter. Then loosen it enough until oil drains out. Do this step-wise. Then remove it, once done draining. ---Inspect the area of the oil filter to make sure no damages, foreign materials, etc. ---Fill the new filter about 80% with new oil. Oil lube the seal. and put new one on. ----Fill the engine about 70-80% of spec oil capacity. make sure everything is done, tight, etc. ----Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes and check for any leaks. Then, turn off the engine, wait about 10 minutes or so, and recheck the oil dipstick, then top off as needed. Then, start the engine, check for leaks one more time, let it warm up a little, then turn it off. --repeat oil capacity level as needed.
Whatever the manufacturer recommends. By the way, the 02 - 06 Camrys don't have the oil burning problem the 07 - 09 Camrys have after about 150, 000 miles
I have an 04 Camry and I just roll that baby up on some ramps and roll my behind under the car and change my oil. The ramps get the car high enough for me to crawl under it. It's quicker. lol
That’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard. Always use jack stands. I’ve have lifts fail while under the car and I’m damn happy that I have jack stands in place.
Don't forget to replace the drain plug washer! Toyota is known for cheap drain plug washers , also as hard as it is this guy doesn't tell you exactly what side the drain plug is located but you should also remember that oil pans are always located under the engine , that filter is a bitch to get out but it's possible
Im not strong enough, nor was I able to raise the car enough to get the filter off. Are there any suggestions for tools that I could use that i may already have at home?

Do you know if the 2002-2006 Camry 2.4 have the same oil consumption problem as the rav 4?

You cant check a dipstick on a raised car. You won't get a proper reading. Always level your car first.

I wish you had shown clearly where to place the jack under the car.
I hate where the oil filter is located on this car compared to my 1999 Toyota solara which I don't have to jack up to change the oil..
This takes 5 quarts of 5w30 right?
3.8 without changing the filter. 4 quarts changing the oil filter. thats what it says on the manual
4.8
No, it takes 4
Skip the jack n stands n just reach up under. Works for me. Its a 10 minute job. #overcomplicated.
I agree. Just did this on my Camry. Very easy.
Yeah I do the same with my solara but on this car you might have to do it to get to the oil filter tho

@@richlucero3536 I said to not raise the car at ALL. So it's actually safer than stands. Suggest you reread my 4 year old comment.
