when rachel finds out ross was gonna take her to prom… that was the best kiss by FAR
I find the central perk kiss ❤❤
I like both. But it’s almost a sense of relief you get from Ross when Rachel kisses him after seeing that prom video. It wasn’t all for naught after all, getting dressed up in his dad’s suit and wanting to take her to prom. It was an incredibly sweet gesture and Rachel felt it in her heart.
The kiss at Central Perk felt more desperate and longing in nature. They literally couldn’t be apart another second or they’d have gone nuts thinking about each other. In a small sense, it was almost apologetic on Ross’ part because he knew he’d just broken Rachel’s heart. He couldn’t stand the thought of hurting her like that.
The fact that David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston had a crush on each other during the show ( the only ones who had a crush on each other ) make their scenes even better now , i can't watch them as before

Consequently, their first kiss channelled all the tension that had been building up over the previous season...it was the kiss filmed in the Central Perk doorway.

Ever notice how it mirrors the scene at the coffee shop with their first kiss, too? Ross stormed off after their argument, leaving Rachel heartbroken, only to return and physically affirm that he wants a relationship with her. Well, in the series finale, the roles switch. Rachel emotionally leaves after they have a fight, which breaks Ross’ heart, but she returns and gives their relationship another chance. And in both instances Ross swoops in and they share a smoldering hot kiss

Sadly Jennifer Aniston was ready to move on from friends. She and Brad Pitt wanted to have a kid but she was having troubles getting pregnant, so for her health she wanted to quit the show. In fact I think the last season has less episodes than a normal season for that exact reason. But obviously her and Brad never could have a kid and then they got divorced.

@@TheMusicPinkLover91 That episode was sad but David and Jennifer's acting was excellent, as if it were a real situation for them, in fact I read that they both cried after the end of the shoot, because these two have chained all their emotions and feeling for each other into Ross and Rachel's character, a wonderful thing.

Ross and Rachel, they Belong Together. Good ending!
Rachel and Emma moved back in with Ross on the day she got off the plane. However Ross and Rachel were now sleeping together every night. Rachel was speechless when he disclosed that he was the one who got her job back at Ralph Lauren for her. Rachel admitted it had been a huge mistake to move out the previous year and especially to have had a relationship with Joey.
On the night after Monica and Chandler moved to Westchester, Ross proposed to Rachel and she excepted without hesitation.
A few weeks later, in late June they got married with Phoebe as Maid of Honour and Joey as minister, the entire thing being managed by Monica. Rachel also announced to everyone afterwards that she and Ross were expecting their second child, something she'd already told Ross a few days earlier. They honeymooned in Paris, Rachel being surprised and impressed that Ross spoke fluent French.
Joey left New York in September after Ross and Rachel moved to a new house in Westchester on the same block as Monica and Chandler, due to Rachel's pregnancy. Subsequently they had another daughter whom they named Ella and a son called James.
Because Rachel became pregnant again before the wedding, her father was very angry but her oldest daughter Emma took a shine to him and he softened his attitude a little towards Ross, seeing how happy Ross and Rachel are together. However her father and mother still find it difficult to be in the same room, despite the best efforts of Ross and Rachel.
Ross got Head of Department at NYU while his wife became a board member at Ralph Lauren. Rachel and Ross share Thanksgiving hosting with Monica and Chandler while Christmas is held at Phoebe and Mike's apartment, formerly Monica and Chandler's. (Joey and Alex married in Las Vegas a few years after Ross and Rachel and returned to his old apartment opposite best friends Phoebe and Mike.)
Gunther now owns Central Perk and is in a relationship with Jasmine, Phoebe's former colleague but still pines after Rachel. While he generally is polite to Ross, he still makes snide remarks now and again.
Incidentally Mark, who got Rachel the job in Paris which she rejected, came over in the fall to see if she wanted to reconsider. He also asked her out as he was unaware of her marriage to Ross as Rachel and Ross had decided to keep her name Green professionally (she was however legally Mrs Rachel Geller-Green) and he showed his dislike of Ross when she told him she was married to him. During his angry reaction, Mark accidentally revealed that he'd set up Chloe to come onto Ross years earlier. When Rachel heard this, she was furious and threw Mark out of her office. In fact she didn't calm down until Ross arrives a little later and embraces her. Mark never contacts Rachel again.

Yeah, 'Wicked game'' will always be Ross&Rachel song! This was a perfect song for them - romantic, heartbreaking, about passionate love, which can lift up and ruin in one second. And honestly, the whole idea of this story was constructed in a genius way because way before they got together, writers actually put hints - in many episodes - what was to come. For example in the blackout episode, when the group talks about love, sex etc., Rachel and Ross are talking about relationships, and Rachel confesses to Ross that she never had passion, one true, great love in her life, and Ross answers: ''I see a big passion in your future''. This is the prophecy of that great passionate love that will connect Ross and Rachel, but passion is both great intoxication and love, as well as madness and suffering. And that's exactly what happened in their relationship! And David and Jen played it all brilliantly!
I actually did catch on to that being meaningful when Ross said Rachel would find a great passion. But perhaps it doesn’t count because I knew before I ever committed to watching Friends that they’d end up together.

Chandler and Monica are still number one couple on the show. But these two had crazy and happy and it was like a damn emotional rollercoaster with them. And I loved it. Lol

The fact is it was never going to be Ross and Rachel as a centre storyline at first, they was gonna make it Joey and Monica. Then they saw the real life romantic chemistry between Jen and David and had to make these two the centre on/off couple throughout the whole run. So technically yes R/R was the lead and centre couple as they went through it from s1 to s10 on and off. Monica and chandler came into it way later, they too got put together cause of the real life plantonic chemistry of Matthew and Courteney. Different types of chemistry between two pairs
Monica/Chandler are more "healthy" but also boring. Ross/Rachel romance was the heart of the show and far more entertaining

Rachel and Ross were always meant to be, it is so obvious! Joey&Rachel on the other hand - the most forced, undeveloped couple and never made sense together. First off, Joey &Rachel fans are reaching so badly, because Joey and Rachel never actually said 'I love you' to each other, to their faces - not even once, their 'relationship' was a couple of kisses in just a few episodes, throughout seasons 8, 9 and 10, and mainly this storyline was just for laughs, like when Ross is fine or when Joey accidentally picks up the ring from the floor. They couldn't even have sex once - they couldn't cross this barrier, because it was just a fascination phase, not real love. If you love someone truly, in a romantic sense of the word, the desire is so overwhelming, that sooner or later you will do it with each other. This is why Ross and Rachel stopped worrying about their friendship and went all the way in s2, because they truly loved each other. Also, the hypocrisy here is hilarious - Joey&Rachel fans speak about Ross or Rachel other 'relationships', yet Joey, while supposedly in love with Rachel, during seasons 8, 9, and 10 - because they started this storyline suddenly in season 8 and then abandoned it until season 9 - he had other girlfriends, but ''yes'', he ''loved Rachel so much'' xD And the basic problem - the writers started this storyline suddenly, out of nowhere, in season 8 out of all10 seasons; so this was actually at the end of the show when Ross and Rachel had long been established as star-crossed lovers and everyone knew deep down that Ross and Rachel would be together at the end. And Joey was always the womanizer and was unable to have a mature relationship with a woman, yet suddenly, out of nowhere, just because he started living with Rachel in the apartment, after few weeks, we were supposed to believe he changed totally - the worst written storyline of all time.
That's why Joey and Rachel never made sense, no matter how many stupid Twitter rants, desperate Joey and Rachel fans write. If Friends writers wanted to seriously introduce Joey and Rachel's relationship, they should do so well in advance, not just 2 seasons before the show's ending. This is why Joey&Rachel never had a chance, really. It was so, so forced. And I don't know if you know, but both Jennifer and Matt Le Blanc hated this storyline too - Joey and Rachel - and actors know their character best. You can look up the interviews, in which they both said it. Jennifer has spoken a hundred times and keeps saying that she was always rooting for Ross and Rachel and had a 'soft spot' for them. Also, please, to say that anyone on this show had better chemistry than David and Jen (who had real feelings for each other) is a joke.
I'm also so sick and tired of dumb ppl writing that Ross and Rachel were 'toxic'. Stop forcing your irrelevant opinion on others. No, they weren't. "Toxic" is thrown around too easily, nowadays.
Time and time again I see these words used to describe entire human beings. Nuanced, complex, flawed individuals. I don’t think it’s fair to paint people with such broad brushes... and it’s even less fair to seek validation regarding these judgments by posting biased, one-sided descriptions of situations and people on the internet. Life is complicated. Ross and Rachel was a passionate and emotional relationship, full of ups and downs, but a great love, no doubt. They just both tried to move on after they broke up, and they never succeeded because they had always loved each other. And in fact, they always did everything for each other - Ross took care of Emily at Rachel's request so that Rachel could go to a party with Joshua, and Rachel, although she flew to Ross' wedding to confess her love, stopped herself and wished him congratulations - and in fact, it was like that, throughout the entire show - they did everything for each other.
They always loved each other, but they had to mature to be in this relationship. Hence, they weren't toxic, they were the most realistic couple on the show. Ross always took care of Rachel and encourage her to go out and conquer the world: the one with the poker, the one with the laundry, and many, many others. The problem is Ross&Rachel haters are constantly nitpicking and bring up just negative situations between them, ignoring all the good stuff.
Ross was just jealous of Mark, and the context, Ross's experiences are very important here. Remember Carol cheated on Ross - he had trauma and when Mark appeared in Rachel's life, Ross feared Mark would take Rachel away from him, his insecurities which had roots in his first marriage and divorce, resurfaced. It's so obvious! And it's human behavior! Ross gets upset, they have a fight and Ross gets drunk. And the fact that he gets drunk is the main point here. Chloe took advantage of him - he never wanted to sleep with her, he was drunk and when we are drunk we lose all control, we are not ourselves. And Ross begged for forgiveness immediately, on his knees, even if Rachel did break up with him before he slept with Chloe- fact. Rachel literally said to Monica the next morning, she and Ross broke up - she used these words herself in the context of ending the relationship, period. She also asked Ross the next day if she can once again be his girlfriend - so why would she do that if she didn't break up with Ross? Besides, later on, the show, it turned out that Ross was right about Mark - Mark asked Rachel out and was there the second Ross left, Mark was sneaky and manipulative.
Some people, who don't like them, are unable to analyze complex emotions and nuances, only think in black and white and judge quickly, and most of them are a new generation, which is very 'judgy'. Because, first of all, a lot of the situations here were just for fun, laughter, it is a 90's sitcom, and it seems like many people don't get it. Ross and Rachel always loved each other, always wanted each other, but they were also simply too intense, both, and they were afraid they gonna ruin the relationship again. They simply needed to mature - both of them - and their entire story is about that process. It's actually the most realistic, complex love storyline on Friends and one of the best, of the kind, in the history of TV.

Joey and Rachel is a classic example of a show running out of ideas... let's be honest, I think they knew they had to end it after fans reaction to the joey & rachel thing.
I very much agree on the "toxic" part. Yeah, Ross was an asshole sometimes. Yes, Rachel played her cards wrong sometimes. But you just can't erase the happy moments they had - they had a lot of them. Such is life, their bad moments dont mean they don't mean a lot to each other

Ross has always been sweet and caring of Rachel, can be possessive at times, but only cause he truly love her. To my mind Rachel is a little bit toxic, she is always giving up on him, either when he has broken up with someone for her like Julie and Bonnie. In addition to that, the moments that she "loves" him, are the ones where he is already with someone else. She can kiss anyone she wants on the balcony, or get numbers at bars, yet he cant go out with no one while she`s pregnant. Ross and Rachel gave me anxiety, I could barely manage to watch them, they were so toxic to each other even though they were deeply in love for like a decade. How does that even happen? I'm glad love won in the end though, and that was the biggest gift the writers gave us, the viewers who had so much heartache because of this difficult relationship. And please guys, don't tell me it's all imaginary, I know it is. However, that doesn't make it any less real.
