I read *most* of the comments and I decided to do a silly little comparison of both Bennet and Gorou capabilities, as a support character for our Great and Oni Itto, so…
let's look into it and compare them!...
Bennet:
+++ ATK buff (depends on his build)
++ Healing
Overall good at increasing Itto's damage, considering his auto-attacks and Ushi scale off of ATK
My **lvl 90** Bennet (c6) with his **lvl 13** ult (using Mistsplitter and 4-piece Noblesse) increases my Itto's ATK by 1357, resulting in an overall 5.263 ATK stat on my Itto (may and will be different for yours, obviously, but the difference should not be that big).
Gorou (if you have 3 Geo's in your team, which you ideally want - both for activating Geo resonance by having a shielder in your team, and for Gorou's elemental skill/burst):
++ DEF buff (+438 flat at lvl 13 [+25% after using burst, if Gorou's 1st Ascension passive is active]
+ Resistance to interruption buff
++ Geo DMG bonus (+15%)
+ Healing (tiniest healing there is which activates on c4, but it's there I guess?)
+++ Geo CRIT DMG bonus (+40%)
Overall good at increasing stats that most Geo characters could need (DEF, Geo DMG, Geo CRIT DMG). I think Itto especially, as Gorou is his BIS (best in slot)
My **lvl 80** Gorou (c6) with his **lvl 11** elemental skill (using Favonius and 4-piece Noblesse) increases my Itto's DEF by 689, which results in an ATK increase equal to 809, resulting in an overall 4.715 ATK stat on my Itto (again, varies on your Itto's build).
Overall, Bennet's +1356 compared to Gorou's +809 win (with a 548 ATK difference)
In exchange, Gorou brings to the table his +15% Geo DMG and +40% Geo CRIT DMG increase(c6).
All in all, I would say that Gorou is definetely Itto's BiS support, considering his Geo supporting capabilities and a small bonus of his ult following you around. On top of that Gorou needs only his skill upgraded for being a good support (nothing else really matters for him, even his stats), but Bennet is pretty good as well (especially if you have the resources (for example Mistsplitter for the highest Base ATK).
All that info and blabbering is coming from someone who is an Itto main since his release (Itto's release date is December 14, 2021 and it is the same date he "Joined party" for me) and he is my most favourite character in whole game! (in case anyone is wondering who is that guy and why does he care so much about some Óni dude from a videogame)♥

You forgot two things which are redhorn and his A5 passive scale with defense which make gorou much better than bennet for him.

Arataki Itto's 4th Ascension passive makes his Charged attack DMG increase by 35% of his DEF, and
Redhorn Stonethresher (his signature and BiS weapon) passive makes Itto's Normal and Charged attack DMG increase by another 40% of his DEF.
Thank you so much for mentioning this, cause it completely slipped my mind at the moment of writing the comment! Taking this into account, Gorou is even better for Itto (which is pretty obvious, especially considering Gorou accompanied Itto since his release and continues do to so every banner onward)!
Didn't know Itto is actually this good. He's just a sitting duck in my account. Well, time to revive him and skip Navia.
I did the same but he's soo hard to build imo, I got him from 12k/CA to 18k but without C6 gorou nor albedo nor zhongli I'm struggling 😅
Itto is insanely strong especially if you build him correctly, I typically do around 130K with his skill in his ult with a bennett burst, Gorou Burst and skill and Zhongli debuff. Its just all the luck... 😭
as a player who main Itto in the top 2% in akasha system, idon't have problem if you use bennett with itto but pls don't use mona. instead of this you should put itto gorou bennett and zhongly its better for comparysing with navia. When itto use his ult (level 10) he turn 103% of his defense to atk so defense is better in anyway but that not mean atk is useless no but its not equitable comparysing an main character def with only buff atk to main character atk with buff atk

Both of them do the exact same Job and that is killing enemies, Itto has a much more active playstyle than her and is more of an Aoe, while Navia is vice versa sacrificing Aoe for more single target dmg both are solid dps Navia will fall off very hard against weak mobs that are scattered throughout the domain and Itto will fall off against bosses that are too thicc for him
Remove Bennett and add another geo unit to unlock gorou c6 ability(increase in geo crit damage). Lets sa a ninggwan with a thrilling tales of dragon slayers. This might increase the itto dmg

It s depend what you liked i personaly prefer Navia but dps should be better for itto becouse from what i remeber the mos boosted arattaki could deal per hit close or above 100k so navia shouldn t be threat for him.... But still Navia is my Favorit geo character :) 😊
Geo main here, and I would say - they both good in thier job. Overall for a new player, i would recommend to get Navia over Itto - why?
More flexible, need less investment, forgiving to mistakes. If u would like Geo as element - u can continue to invest into it, getting Gorou, Itto, Albedo etc. If not - Navia still can be your pocket shotgun and dish out quick-swap nukes.
Itto is for Geo Mains, premium unit, and he obviously has his own pros - incredibly tanky, constant high dps overtime, no need ANY reactions, interuption resistance, big AoE, simple as doors. Yes, he need more investment, less flexible, but he has job ALWAYS done, and his overall dmg no less than Navia.
For now players just hit by "new toy" syndrome, but as Geo main, who have both, i would say in terms of dmg - both of them a super good, its not really correct to compare "nuker" and "juggernaut" type of characters - Navia will always have bigger numbers per screenshot, but Itto would reach that same dmg with few next charged hits, especially against crowd.
Overall if you read this, you dont like Geo, but you wanna try and wondering should you pull for Navia or not, is she worth your promos - Yes, i assure you, you will be satisfied. She currently the best Geo dps right now, and not cuz of dmg - simply because of her flexibility - she is easy to build, has great weapon choice, can be main dps, quick-swap sub dps, triple geo team, 2pyro+2geo team, flex slot in dendro teams - you can find place for her anywhere. In the end, you can even wear Archaic Petra and use her as "PocketNuke/Buffer" for any other elemental team, if you somehow wouldn't be satisfied with her SubDps role, which i doubt.

As a person who mains Geo myself and who also has both Navia and Itto - they both are *really* strong and are *really really* fun to play!
I just don't understand all the fuss, about "who is stronger?" and all the comments like "Itto is better" or "Navia wins"...
In my opinion, they both are very strong units, who can bring their own gimmick and damage dealing method to the table😄
It is definitely because of her damage :/ because of her nature to not require high field time not to mention her front loaded damage means faster clears in abyss.
Does it matter for people who can already 36 no problem? No not really but if she had terrible numbers or has a similar play style of itto then no one would bother pulling unless they like her and this is coming from someone who's first 5 star is itto, he is currently permanently benched, personally disliked how he is def scaling, requires a gorou to function well, and requires too much investment with minimal returns

Are u sure we speak about Arataki Itto? Cuz my bro Itto always was my emergency button untill i got Neuvillette. Remember Sacred Beasts in Abyss? Triple Magu Kenki? Any kind of boss? My Itto smashed them all for me. Maybe you builded your Itto wrong? For example my Itto hit 42-46k with each charged slash, 110k Ushi.... I have no idea why your Itto benched bro, sorry, no offense 😅
About Gorou... Well plz dont forget we have 4 slot for our squad. With this logic i will say "Xianling is trash" cuz she need Bennet, or Alhaitham is weak cuz he work best with Nahida.
And btw, i didn't say Navia dmg is low or something. It's pretty high, but still all depend of how many resources you're ready to spend to make them good. I even recommend her as choice for newbies or players not familiar with Geo. My point was they are both strong geo dps, Itto is on-field, and Navia is quick-swap. Her Normal Attacks not even near to well build Itto, in same time, Itto can't nuke so hard in normal Abyss run.
If you wanna go further - I cleared this Abyss with Itto and Navia in same team 😂 They work together pretty well.
Itto, Navia, Gorou, Bennet. They both benefits from Gorou and Bennet buffs, Navia can shot while Itto is recovering energy, always 6 shards shots cuz Gorou absorb any Crystals nearby.
Thats what i love in Genshin - only limits is our imagination 👍

You can even slot her in Noelle teams as quickswap DPS, which has the AoE problem covered.

If we're talking lore-wise, than Itto is definetely physically stronger (especially considering he's an oni and they're physically stronger then regular people), but menthally/emotionally Navia is definitely stronger🔥

Bro Itto converts his 100% DEF to ATK the only main thing here is Def stats are like 2-6% higher than atk so where is the difference between ATK & DEF It's just some players perspective...

if it is a showcase between two geo dps, then it is kinda unfair that you haven't maxed navia talent and didn't even put her signature weapon and her BiS artifact as well. although she can fit with many team comp and in many situations since she makes use of crystalize, and easy to build. my long forgotten the unforged in my inventory has its place now.

Eh like someone else said Navia can do multi target too, it just requires repositioning/the correct positioning when first using her E skill.
This video and my own time playing as both characters lead me to believe both are more or less on par with each other in single and aoe situations for the most part...she may kill bosses a tiny bit faster (especially with Furina and other character (Bennet) buffs) and in situations where Navia is leauges better is if your Itto doesn't have enough energy/other geo units (if you don't have that you're already doing something wrong with itto as you want either Zhongli or Goruou +1 other Geo unit or both) and the enemy has tons of HP/DEF and will take longer to kill (more than his Ult duration and CD, granted that would mean the Itto/dps character in general wouldn't be that well built)).
In particular Navia does best when fighting larger enemies in general (aoe or single) as it's easier for all 11 of her shots to hit when the hit box is larger.
Regardless of eithr character you can throw in another character of another element (same element) to take care of their single target or dps weakness (for Itto Albedo's prime example and event Ninguang, for Navia pretty much any of the other 2 elemental types in the party besides Geo (as you want 2 non geo units in it) will worka nd the best dps units (single or aoe) are all non Geo units anyway so it's slightly easier to make a Navia as sub dps party than a Itto main dps party in the game given with a other element as the main dps (well other element that isn't geo, anemo, or dendro anyway...granted dendro could work with superbloom teams if your Navia has high ER/C2 so you don't need 2 Geo units) with Navia doing tons of damage when the main dps's are waiting for CDs...and if you're dealing with a team that mostly deals damage off field where their off field attacks are activated via normals (Raiden/Xinquie/Thoma/etc) you can use her as the driver for said attacks by keeping her on field and attacking with normals (especially for the 4 seconds after using e skill as they'd be Geo infused)).

I've never understood why everyone says that Navia is a single target damage dealer, i always manage to hit at least 6 enemies with one shot.

if you watch closely, food buff. and probably bunch of c6 support, bennet and mona. and navia is really broken in quickswap if you use Golden Troupe artifact just double tap everything is dead even in c0.

Using navia requires skills and thinking as you need to calculate how much you gonna need the crystal. This guy using same rotation for navia ignoring the situation, that's how he manages to get 1:06 because he use the full rotation when navia can already one shot the hillichurl without buff

@riulbrintik5143 brotha literally said everything navia is but the CA. If u actually played her, you would realize that u don't chase the crystallize. When she's constantly causing crystallize the shields already go to her when she is moving when attacking, kinda like how itto causes crystallize and gets an extra shield as well. And her skill literally sucks in the shields so idk what ur saying.

@@riulbrintik5143 it quite literally is. Thats literally the point of her kit. If u have a consistent applicator thats hydro, pyro, cryo, or electro you can have a consistent flow of crystallize. Examples: xinqui, yelan, hydro archon, fischl, shinobu or whatever her name is, Raiden shogun, yae miko and etc. And because her burst constantly applies geo u get a consistent flow of crystallize.

@@akarawinmayuramas4509 I don’t know about math. i think her own artifacts might be slightly good but I am just not wasting resins on that domain anymore. The artifacts are bad. I have been farming for golden troupe from the release of Fontaine and I have enough good pieces. Plus you can get gladiators pieces just doing boss.

Itto isn’t at his peak. And navia is just slightly better. Itto is better for multiple enemies though. So I’m saving for raiden. She’s far better value than navia obviously.

gorou's buff is not even the same as bennett, even though gorou is dedicated for geo, his buff is not comparable to how big bennett can offer. attack scale characters got a full benefit for bennett
Stop making comparisons between Navia and Ittou, using Mona and Bennet on both sides.
Navia has a larger number of supports than Ittou. While unfortunately Ittou only has 2, and these types of comparisons never, ever use Goro.
Literally, Navia has more steroids than Ittou, it's not fair.
As a DPS Geo, Ittou is still the best because he spends more time on the field and does not depend on crystals to increase his damage, his entire rotation allows him to stay for the entire time that Goro's Burst lasts.
Navia does not serve as a DPS because her rotation needs to provide her with crystals or bullets, and she only has 2 shots at her disposal and a chance to make each shot in 2 second intervals, then she has 5 seconds of downtime... THAT IS NOT DAMAGE PER SECOND !
And yes, she does a lot of damage for the amount of supports they provide, but it's absurd to take all the supports into the abyss, unless you really decide to take it to the boss rooms. Otherwise, the constant spam of enemies in the abyss completely prevents Navia from dealing maximum damage due to her skill CD, and resetting the rotation causes her to deal this maximum damage every 20 seconds or more.
i think you misunderstood the meaning of DPS there. its damage/time. the faster you deal damage or higher damage in short time. meaning that if itto spend longer on the field to achieve the same damage thats mean itto is bad DPS. this misconception of DPS has been going on for so long that people need to start realise that DPS is damage/time.
the formula in simple form is HIGHER DAMAGE/LESS TIME SPEND ON DEALING SAID DAMAGE.

Why not just test them without any support characters? And artifacts aren't the same, this is unbalanced for sure because once you max weapon and character level and skill level, artifacts are the only difference you can make

you need to know what DPS means first. its damage/time. the faster you deal damage or higher damage in shortest time. thats is DPS, and thats what makes a good dps. Navia spend like 5 sec on field to deal even higher damage then Itto in 10 sec. people really forgot the real meaning of DPS and overused it to suit their narration.

Actually doesn’t matter if used with gorou or not, Mona, Bennet still covers up with that attack buff. Itto is overall better I personally think. I got them both. Bonking feels so fun.
