I cried when shay handed Gavin the knife and he said thank you. I remember many many many years ago he was teaching him how to properly handle a knife and he said “always say ‘thank you’ that way the other person knows you have it” and the fact that he is almost 18 and still does this 😭😭😭😭

First of all I refused to believe that Brock is an actual functioning human now haha, and also great lego animation Brock, that was really cool!
Boy talk about an unexpected gift that is sorely needed. I absolutely loved Brock's stop motion. That was actually REALLY good. He even found lego heads to match you. I've been here since the beginning. I remember Shay standing in the shower talking to Colette about starting a daily vlog. I remember the old houses, Gavin doing the worm and being slung out of a golf cart, Emma being on the CD cover and Shay crying about it seeing it on TV and her flying down the street in a soapbox derby race. Avia hiding under the bed after being embarrassed about liking Cesar, Malachi and his terrible farts, and Brock's "bow and arrow" ;). All the stories, music videos, and the incredible journey you guys have been on. I blinked and your family grew up. Kinda mind boggling.

Not gonna lie, when my phone said “Shaytards posted a video: Christmas Special 2020” I legit almost was jumping for joy cause the highlight of my Christmas growing up was watching Shaytards Christmas special and after the year we had, I truly needed that. Thank you Shay. I’ll never forget how all of your videos helped me keep going when things got touch.

I can't even comprehend the fact that I've been watching your vlogs since I was a freshman in hs.
I remember watching and thinking to myself, "That's the kinda life I want when I'm older. A big, loving family who does a ton of fun stuff all the time."

This one made me emotional. Such nostalgia. I'm reminded of how/why you guys captivated the internet. You're all so full of positive energy as individuals, and also as a family unit. It particularly made me emotional when it was mentioned that Gavin (I almost typed Sontard, I'm still reluctant to give up those names since the Shaytard Rebellionite days, but I'm trying to change) is about to be 18 and may not always be here for future family events anymore. I would watch these pretty much everyday. i would go really far back just to be able to “start from scratch” and the love in this family is amazing. i was sad at first because it wasn’t a big extravaganza how it usually is but i realized that doesn’t matter. you don’t have to be surrounded by bunches of people, just the ones who will always stick by your side no matter what. and that is what this season is truly about. i pray rainbows in y’all’s futures but i also pray for those hard days because those are the ones that will make you strong a build you up. I get weirdly emotional watching you guys now. I felt like I was a part of your family for so long. I found you so many years ago, back before you did the daily vlogging. I was with you every single day. Your family became part of my daily life. I built watching your vlog into my daily schedule and it was like I was spending time with my family. Then I lost you guys years ago and didn't know how to feel or handle that. There were days of my life that I would spend my whole day on the computer with my favorite people, just to try and get you back. You guys were such a big part of my life and will never know the true joy you brought me. I am close to Shay and Colette's age, so I felt like they were my friends/family. Holy crap was this needed in 2020! I've been here since the very beginning as many people in comments have as well, I can still remember Shay lighting fireworks underneath the window in their first house to wake everyone up and when Emmi got herself stuck in the bathroom, I've said it in a previous video but this family was there for me when my own family wasn't and I've taken their traditions and passed them onto my own marriage - I couldn't thank this family for everything they have taught me - happiness is a choice, you'll always have a big place in my heart Shay, Colette, Gavin, Avia, Emmi, Brock and Daxton

I remember all the music videos you guys made, all the dinners, the cooking, the valentines, the christmases; especially all the matching outfits and all the competitions you guys would do in the big gymnastics gym. Still have my tattoo that says “happiness is a choice”! I got it when I turned 18, after experiencing trials with my mother and growing up in chaos as a child. Shay, your family was my getaway when I was 16 and my mom was suffering with drug addiction. I’m now married, 28 and just gave birth to my little girl in August. No matter what the shaytards will ALWAYS be family to me, we've all been through so much together from births, to birthday, holidays, weddings and so much more. I've been watching since Christmas 2012, I was 18 going through a tough time with family problems and it was so nice to see such a happy family and the shaytards truly made me feel like I was a part of there family and celebrating with them every christmas. Honestly, I have watched EVERY single one of these Christmas specials every year. I always get SUPER excited for it to come out on Christmas or after. Last year, I watched them all (previous ones) on my birthday (December 16th) and then watched the one that came out (this one) on Christmas as I was opening gifts. These always bring me so much joy and happiness, I have no idea what I would do without the Shaytards on Christmas or any other day you guys upload. I always feel like I'm a part of your family, and I love that feeling. Keep being you, keep smiling, and keep on being such an amazing family! Me, my bunny, and my dog all love you! It took me a while to mentally be ready to watch this. I was going to watch it when it came out, but I found myself struggling. I realized I wouldn't enjoy it fully if I had watched it then, and turned it off. The 2014 christmas special has been the video I've watched and gone back to every time I was stressed, had anxiety, or was feeling very depressed or empty. That video has gotten me through so many things. I just now got to watch this, and I'm so glad I waited. Thank you. Thank you so much.

I just found my signed shaytards calendar and it brought me back to some of the toughest times I've been through after losing my dad. Shay, you have literally taught me more to life in how to treat others with respect and love then anyone or anything I have ever experienced. I watched your videos for years and each Christmas the main thing I was looking forward to was to just watch the hour long special. When you were posting daily vlogs I truly felt like I was part of a different family, and the fact that Im turning 21 this year scares me. If 14 year old me only knew the knowledge and love I was getting myself into when I clicked on my first shaytards video. I know I'm not the only one when I say this but you all have helped so many of us put smiles on our faces after the longest and hardest days of our lives so far. But, Its truly insane to have watched your family as well as you're siblings channels grow as well. It was truly like I was a part of the family even though you have no idea who I am. I really appreciate all the videos and memories you have shared with us. From all of the whacky moments, to the family sing alongs, as well as the backyard fun, the way your family has grow and evolved as a family is truly inspirational. I don't expect anyone to read this since its a later video but incase one of you see this, from my family to yours, I hope y'all have a wonderful 2021!
