I've loved this song since it was first released. Thank you! Memories of our country's time in Nam are painful to this day. I felt honor bound to go help because I lost one friend and 2 cousin's over there. As soon as I graduated high school, I joined the Navy because I wanted to be a corpsman. My mother and brother cried when they found out that I joined up. Kicked butt on the test and the following training. Them, about the time I graduated AIT, they began pulling us out of Vietnam. Never saw even the coast of Vietnam. I was never sure whether to go e thanks or be upset that I didn't get to help.
Thank you for the song! I wish the youngsters now would still feel the honor that the soldiers from those days felt.
