Reforestation should be done and for it to be more effective, they should plant a variety of plants for a variety of animals to flourish. Because if you keep planting the same type of tree, the same kind of animal will also floruish there and the biodiversity will still be absent in that certain area

Okay this is a great project and I'm here for it, but it was funny to see them lopping off the limbs of trees that were already there. I get that it helps the new trees get more light so the whole forest grows more strong over time than that one tree would've, but I imagine that tree being like "hey come on I'm on your side, the hell!"

I'm happy to see this kind of action in Mexico, my homeland. I would like thought to see what has been done so far to fight deforestation in the Central Highlands, where Mexico City is located along with the states of Mexico, Morelos, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Queretaro and Hidalgo. Because this is an Area densely populated, many of the country side and mountains have been deforested to be replaced by farmland, timber production and city sprawling. I would like to see if there are any steps in afforesting many of these areas with native trees, especially the endemic "Oyamel"- native name of the Abeto Sagrado- Sacred Fir. This is a species endemic to this part of Mexico and grows only in high mountain. I have seen many projects in which new trees are planted, but most of the time is one kind of pine planted in large areas, but not oyamel or cedar, and not deciduous trees either, like oak , willow and fresno. I think this has to be taken into consideration as a part of the global effort to fight deforestation, by not just restoring forests, but giving a particular priority to native species that grow nowhere else.

Great story. Wish the vid also showed the plan for thoughtful harvesting of wood and ongoing forest management. Mature trees have already sequestered the carbon, and become less efficient at it, so best to harvest them and make room for newer trees that will capture even more. Trees provide renewable and environmental material alternative to plastic use.

I do read up and for scientific papers and authors I am known to add them to @Wikidata.. They can be viewed with a Scholia for further reading.. When the objective is to lower the temperature, the Army Corps of Engineers has a manual on how to lower temperatures through beavers and beaver dam analogs (see it is not hard to point to a source) I recently read a paper about carbon sequestration. During the growth of trees not much carbon ends up in the soil, it happens once trees get more mature. When you "harvest" trees there is an immediate release of Carbon from the soil. The papers are out there.. not much alternative in that.

wouldnt those trees they plant catch fire next time a fire comes through?
i would build a small wall or ditch around the property so the fires dont get in until the trees grow . i would use fast growing tall trees canopy trees and understory fruiting trees to attract wildlife to eat and deposit soild builidng manure and beneficial ground covers retain moisture / prevent compaction.

Where trees historically belongs... A recipe for success. The ultimate question is : because people do not accept representative democracy as it's designed either for election success or néolibéral pathetic ideology should we try to develop an analysis on how to handle eco-fascism. Fascism is a human term limited to social organisation . Biology is one realm less in term of emergence. I repeat : the question is : how civilization will create a bridge between social science and biology pathway.

It would take 40 mega factories around the world working 255 days / year producing 980,392 trees every day to come up with 10 Billion trees / year
    THIS IS SALVATION!!!!!
    (Because 100 years/1trillion trees)
This should all be fund by a annually percentage of all international nations tax revenue.
" it is more difficult and expensive to gather thousands of different parts and components from around the world to fit all together into a vehicle , than it is to stockpile 10 billion tree seeds and grow trees in factories to be planted around the world annually !"
How many cars are produced in the world every year? In 2012, for the first time in history, over 60 million passenger cars have been produced in a single year (or 165,000 new cars produced every day).

    CO2 causes climate change?
No, the climate activists at the UN never tell you 3 things:
    1. The earth is supersaturated with respect to the spectral absorption of water vapor and CO2, so any additional CO2 is not going to make a difference--we're already at 100% spectral absorption, and
    2. The estimation variance of the General Circulation Model used by scientists working for the UN to predict the earth's climate overwhelms the estimate, rendering the models useless and criminally suspect! Redistribution and control are the UN's objectives.
    3. CO2 only makes up 1% of the greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere but the UN and their "climate scientists" don't want you to know that, or you'll question their conclusions about CO2.
And you should not only question their conclusions, but seriously doubt them.

It’s not too accurate to say that “specially in Latin America (...) trees grow a lot faster”.
“Latin America” is such a vast territory that there may be places where trees grow faster and other where they don’t grow faster (there are lots of desert areas in Latin America). This sentence should be avoided or be more specific... 🤓🤗

Ew, please DO NOT show hydroponics when you say "we've gotten better at farming". You do not want to associate better farming with hydroponics, which is raising vegetables without soil... It's the most chemical way of growing plants. Nutrients are poor in the vegetables produced, and pollution is immense (they use plastic, chemicals, it's awful). Agroecology is the answer. For vegetables it's living soil farming : no till, huge amounts of carbon based mulch (like wood chips), coupled with a bit of nitrogen mulch (like grass clippings, spent barley from breweries, compost or manure). For big scale crop farming, it's direct sowing on cover crops.
