In Volume Four we take a look at the Canadian firm Massey Harris which merged with Ferguson in the 1950s. The two films in this programme show Massey Harris tractors, implements and combine harvesters at work all over the globe, as well as a close look at the companys tractor range. These films were shot in colour and date from the 1940s giving an exceptional glimpse of farming practices sixty years ago!

It was cool to see the old 200 series (201, 202, 203) tractors at work. I never understood why they weren't more popular. It certainly wasn't for lack of reliability and durability. Or comfort, convenience, and looks, because they were ultra-modern marvels at the time they were built.
