I like to see it too because i dont personally have enough money to collect things but i do enjoy seeing people who just have things that bring them joy! the only things i have of those are merch that is from p4a, pizzamas, and a few other channels i watch! but i just love to see all the stuff that people have that brings them joy! the more the better because i just love seeing individuals happy (as long as what makes them happy doesnt cause anyone harm)

One thing i love about this room is how organised it feels even though it isn’t 100% organised. It’s kinda the definition of organised chaos.

I don't know about ADHD, but organized chaos is the mark of an INFJ.

Not gonna lie, you saying definitively, “I don’t have a gaming channel anymore” hurt my heart a little bit. I binge-rewatched Hank and Katherine play Super Mario Bros. last summer when I wasn’t having the best time, and it really helped bring a little joy to my days. I’m so glad they exist!
Yeah, there were also games he started and didn't finish, like Undertale. I kept waiting for more but it never came!
At least I got to have a lot of fun watching him play The Stanley Parable :)

right?! I love having little objects with so much history around me but I've moved around so much and in such small spaces that I've adopted minimalism as more of a practicality than an ethos - it would be so crazy to me to just have things from 2007 lying around...

I've always wondered what Hank had in his office and there's just so much more stuff than I was expecting in such a small room.

It's also a bigger room than I thought it was.
I was honestly surprised by how large-ish the room is. For some reason I expected just the desk+ bookshelf space with a little extra on the side.
Not gonna lie, I kinda very miss the gaming channel. Hank Games produced a whole lot of hilarity and just good times for me.

I know it’s kind of cliche to say that your room reflects your personality but I’d say this is a prime example of that. Your office is just filled with all this stuff that resonates Hank!
this makes me feel better for all the things I keep and hold on to. They bring me joy, but I worry about being judged for having clutter. The clutter can be there, but it doesn't mean it's all clutter or that it isn't valuable to me!
As a lifelong Austinite and Texan, the amount of pride I felt when Hank explained that UT had given him a spur was insane.

I now permanently work from home (pandemic silver lining) so have been finalizing my office layout with a lot of stuff like was shown here. It's amazing to be able to look at it all whenever I want.
I started watching vlogbrothers when I was maybe 11? and always looked up to yall as good humans. unrelated to that, I am now an adult that keeps all my happy life things on my walls, in excess. I joined Nerdfighteria in 2013, but I have gone back and watched all the old videos, several times, actually, so, seeing all these little things, like the businesscard cube is really fun

I joined in 2012 and did the same thing. It was on a different UA-cam account though so I’m sad I don’t have the watch history anymore. But anyway, seeing all the old stuff and knowing certain things have been around for ages is heartwarming.
the title of this video reminded me of me losing my last house in a house fire. when I didn't have that home anymore, I felt like the stories of the things I had on my walls told the story of my life up until that point, and that those stories were burned away with the rest of my house. It's been 2 1/2 years now and the walls of my apartment of now filled with the things I love now, which is mainly BTS if we're being completely honest but just know that you're so lucky to have a room that tells the story of your life in a way that is unique to you 💕💜
I used to have a Wall Of Stuff where I put up all kinds of knick knacks of events that were cool. I had lots of train tickets and lanyards and photos but I think my favourite one is a train ticket with a string of St Cuthbert's beads stuck onto it (fossilized plant bits that I found on the beach at Holy Island!)

Every time you or John go down memory lane I'm reminded exactly how long I've been here, and how it doesn't feel like it's been that long.

I take note of the MBMBAM and ZeFrank references and love how such a wholesome channel like this can direct you to other joyful positive places. All is not darkness, there’s lots of good people trying to do good out there.
The memories that carry through physical objects are often the best parts of collecting things. I've been collecting memories in my college dorm and it gives me so much joy to look back on the amazing experiences I've had. Thank you for telling us about some of the experiences you've had (and some that we remember as well)!
How much time did you spend in between takes going through and looking at everything you were talking about Hank?
This was super exjoyable! It's both really cool to see other people's little things they collect, but also I think I might need to start visually displaying reminders of my accomplishments, too.
1:08 I like that in the context of this video one might believe that Hank keeps a photo of his kid on his office wall because he easily forgets about stuff he's done in the past, so if the photo wasn't there he would forget he had a kid
Can I just say, I loved Titansgrave. It was some of my favorite creators playing a game and I honestly think it cemented my new love for Tabletop RPG games. My wife and I watched every episode and I think her sharing my nerdy love for the show made it all the better! OK. now to watch the other 90% of this video.
Titansgrave got me from Vlogbrothers to Geek and Sundry, and thereby to Critical Role, which got me to D&D, which has now been my main hobby for a couple years. I always get excited when it gets mentioned.
I actually watched Titansgrave before I knew who Hank was. I love that he has a memory from it. I’d love to see him on a CR one-shot or something TTRPG related again.
I feel like your office is an accurate representation of what's going on inside my brain: a clutter of things that I sometimes don't know the ryhm and reason behind where I put them.
I really want it to be an enigma machine, but I suspect it‘s more likely a cash register or maybe a type writer.
I do this too!!! I struggle to remember my past (I think it's related to my ADHD) and having physical things helps me recall events and feelings and sometimes even specific days of my life. I love my weird little collection, and it was fun to see yours too Hank. ☺️
