  • Step by step guide to de-winterizing your Geo Pro / E Pro trailer. Most all components are the same but might be located in a different place per your model.
    Note: this process does not include a sanitizing of the fresh water tank. If that is what is needed for your application, please consult Flagstaff or Rockwood for instructions on what to do.

    Happy camping. You may want to consider unscrewing the little clear filter next to the water pump, especially if you're not using an inline filter, and clean it out. It can get debris in it. Also, a little trick -- get all the hand tight threaded connections tight and then take a sharpie marker and mark 2 lines on the fitting and the part it screws into. Then if it comes loose, you'll see the sharpie marks don't line up anymore, and know to tighten them back up a little. Happy camping!

    Hey Mr. Turtle! just wanted to say that I am so grateful that you do these videos. They have been a life saver! I can't tell you how many times I've wished you were my neighbor :) but the videos are a close second.

    I winterize with compressed air. In Pennsylvania we get freezing temps for weeks at a time. Winterizing this way has worked out well for us. There is almost nothing to do to de-winterize. I install a new water filter and that’s it. I don’t like the pink stuff in my potable water lines.

      My first RV, and the water heat just had me scratching my mostly bald head. Didn't realize how long it takes to fill. Hooked up city water and kabahm!.

    Another quick question. Where did you get the cabinet door towel units? Oh, and I applied to join the E-Pro/Geo Pro Facebook group, but have yet to hear from them. So, I'm just transcribing your video. Thanks

      Not sure where I got the towel units, bought them way back when I had my teardrop.

    Thank you! I was so hoping you'd do this videos. I was considering having the dealer do this when I pick up my FD in a few weeks. And I will def sanitize b/c I'm not drinking that water, but the dogs will probably end up drinking it. :)

    Take your water filter out when winterizing and put an empty water bottle in it so you won't have to use as much anti-freeze.

    Appreciate all of your videos as I'm new to the camping game and just bought a 19FD. Where did you find the document you reference in this video. I've searched the Forest River site and found nothing.

    Question: By opening the bypass valves and filling the water heater before getting the antifreeze out of the RV filter bottle, don't you risk getting antifreeze in the water heater when you hook up to city water?

    • @Turtle3863
      @Turtle3863  2 роки тому

      Yes it is possible but I would hope that it would be diluted enough to not be a problem. I have sense removed the filter permanently

    Just wondering, do you go to a dump station to empty the antifreeze out of your gray and black tanks? This will be my first time dewinterizing.

    • @Turtle3863
      @Turtle3863  2 роки тому

      Last year I waited until my first camping trip to dump both tanks.
