Vladimir Putin said Russia and China’s deepening relationship is a “stabilising” force for the world, as he began a two-day state visit in Beijing.
Putin was greeted by Xi Jinping, the Chinese President, with full military honours at the Great Hall of the People in the heart of the capital.
“Relations between Russia and China are not opportunistic and not directed against anyone,” Putin told Xi. “Our cooperation in international matters is one of the stabilising factors in the international arena.”
The two leaders have grown close in recent years despite Western concerns that China is proppiing up Russia’s economy and providing weapons components for the war in Ukraine. Xi said the two countries were furthering their relationship as “good neighbours, good friends, good partners”.
He added that China would “always be a good partner” of Russia.
”The China-Russia relationship today is hard-earned, and the two sides need to cherish and nurture it,” Xi said.
Xi Jinping has welcomed Vladimir Putin at the start of his two-day state visit.
They shook hands at a welcoming ceremony outside central Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, after Putin’s arrival in Beijing at dawn. Members of the People’s Liberation Army stood at attention while artillery fired a multi-gun salute during the ceremony.
Putin, Xi and other top officials are expected to hold meetings later that will emphasise their commitment to the “no limits” relationship.

What is so wrong about China propping up Russia economy? It is similar to US propping up the economies of its allies. China doesnt wish the collapse of any country economy or the world economy. If China support Russia militarily it is also the same with US and NATO support Ukraine. Should be fair to Russia
