I am grateful for Michael Singer. I lived in Gainesville as an 8 year old while dad was in the Navy. I will visit Gainesville and “Temple of the Universe” as I am retiring soon. I would be thrilled to meet you in the person Michael Singer. I have and am still reading your books. I practice every conscious moment witnessing ego. I would love to meditate at “The Temple of the Universe.

I enjoyed the scenery. The ideas help me not worry about the ego so much. I am curious to learn all i can about these things and how life works.
Michael's message is loud and clear but the examples he uses are trivial 'I couldn't enjoy life because my sister got something better at Christmas as a kid'. I'd love to hear him deal with real problems, something like 'my parent died when I was young and then the other one became an alcoholic'.
He never uses serious examples. He completely avoids issues like ill health or chronic pain.
I think that he's example of the heroine addicted was very serious 🧐
I believe he doesn’t use “serious” examples because it’s more important (and easier) for us to see our ego in the every day little occurrences. Like, “I read a UA-cam comment I (may) disagree with.” How does that make the ego feel. Witness the small things first. :)

I'm having trouble understanding what is conciousness? Why would our conciousness choose to be addicted to this idea of self concept? What place do the conciousness have in the universe? What is the purpose of this experience of awareness in this realm if we're prone to creating an ego and get lost in it? I would really love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.
Consciousness doesn’t choose to be addicted it rather gets pulled into the energy and waves of the mind. Once it’s sucked in we use effort to extract it back out but it will never be experienced by mind as it is like the screen which the movie is being played on. You get sucked into the movie and forget that there is a screen even there.
At the end of the day there is no purpose or meaning to life but that’s not a subjective statement it is no purpose but complete fulfillment
