The "gurus" are right, but also wrong. If you enjoy ENJOY all that is life, no matter what YOU DO, no matter what OTHERS DO, no matter what happens to you, THAT is higher than peace. PEACE is the minimum. You can't even enjoy a meal if you are in turmoil. The highest states is to absolutely ENJOY ALL YOUR EXPERIENCES, even if you try to stop someone from hurting you or another and fail and end up in the hospital. Your inner peace was not disturbed, and your joy is not diminished, because you ENJOY ALL THAT IS LIFE BECAUSE YOU RECEIVE ALL THAT IS LIFE WITH THANKFULNESS. That is my experience for 76 years.
Oh, one more jewel. How truly it has helped me, listening,practicing but gosh I still get caught but at least I see it. Miss the bench in the art by the way but this too is beautiful

My ego has to say that the master in the story was a door Matt. I agree with and can see so much value in these talks but I still think not addressing what you consider unreasonable or unacceptable behaviour is weak stuff. Sorry just had to say that.
Just experience being punched in the face and calling obscene names. Don’t whatever you do show a back bone and fight back just be at peace with it. Just allow anything to happen to you and allow it like a spineless coward. Normally love these but couldn’t jive with this one.
