I was 25’ in front of Stevie that night & saw all the other shows on video. We had THE BEST show of the tour. Hands down. Vai was tapping into the HOLY SPIRIT of all the late greats THIS night! (And I’d never seen Belew happier on stage!) 🤘🤘
Only the 8th like. Maybe this is why contemporary music seems to be lacking something - or many things - there’s no weight to new music produced by younger ppl. Maybe also because the greed of the industry sought to divide and mislabel musicians with terms that were easier to include in legal ease - best maker, producer, drummer, song writer, performer, consulting producer, creative consultant, etc etc … it’s all made young musicians claim rolls that are real. Discussion?
@@aphex0 Very true. Got to see them only once myself - my eyes and ears were pinballing across the stage all night... The surreal pleasure of being in the presence of Levin and Belew together, while at their age still very able to throw down... Vai being the audacious master he is was hard to not focus on, few would dare fill Fripps shoes, let alone add their own personal touch and kill it like he did. And then there is Carey...i regularly found myself fixated on his playing throughout the night, in the back of my head thinking of how much of an honor it must have felt to be there at all, while just laying it down and driving the whole musical machine so well... crazy stuff
this has to be the best show touring right now

Amazing , great tune , never gets old.
To days best super group..
Levin at 78 still kicking ass..
Vai, Belew at the best impro !!! Huge love for them. (and Danny and Tony of course)
Can someone clarify whether Vai was initially going to 'cover' Robert Fripp? 'Cos it certainly seems he's doing his own thing within the KC world.
Ok I appreciate the filming but why are you focusing on the two static elements (Danny and Tony) when the 2 guitarists are exploring?

huh?
This was cutting edge in 1980 and it still is.
I saw 3 of these shows live and it was hard as hell to decide who to focus on. Top notch players all ❤@@jimhardiman3836

I love Tool but consider myself a Danny Carey fan 1st and foremost @@acoop8753
Steve’s the ONLY thing “on” in this song and cam guy misses all his magic! 🤦♂️
