WOW! Hardly recognized anything. It has changed since 71-73! Dad was stationed there. I believe in the 81st T.F.S. We were over there with him.

Lived there from 75-80, Dad was stationed there. I remember everything even though I was a young kid. The Bowling alley and Ice ring was my favorite places to go.

I was stationed at the Army Base from Jan 1973 to Apr 1974. I love Germany. Back then gas here in the states was about $0.34 cents a gallon. Gas was expensive on the local economy but we could buy gas at the base with coupons.

My dad was stationed here when he was young. I'm his son living in zweibrücken. Sadly my dad has gotten a brain Tumor and is fighting now. I'm more than proud of him!

I did also ' 73 - ' 75 . So so sad it no longer exists . Most of the buildings are gone now . So glad I went back in ' 82 or ' 83 . Little did I know that the base would close down in 1991.

While watching this video it made me sad & teary eyed seeing that most of the base buildings are now gone as we all new them while stationed there with US Air Force . At least we have them in our memory bank for the rest of lives .

@@TheGers67 Hi thanks for your reply . When were you stationed @ Sunny Zwei ? What Squadron were you in ? Did you live on base or on the economy ? I lived on bases my whole enlistment .

Same here. This was my first overseas tour as a new E4 SGT. (1978 - 1981. 38th Tac Recon Sq)….. I went on to retire in 2000 after a 22 year active duty career serving all over the world, but Sunny Zwei will always be in my heart.
