I’ve been binge watching this project the last few days and learning a lot. It was super exciting to see the first start and for it go so well! Thx for sharing this project with us. Now back to watching the rest of the series.
Thanks a lot Roger! Glad you enjoyed the series. Dave's bike is still running strong. Best wishes, Mike
Well done Dave, yet another Norton saved from just being a memory.
Thanks Geoff! Hoping to film a ride before summer ends.. and if Dave's back will be up to it! Cheers, Mike
Nortons are savage beasts! Mine just delaminated a lifter pad so back under the knife.
Arguably the best looking bike out of England.
But I was 16 and couldn't afford it.
Now that I can I bought the 2019 Royal Enfield 650 Interceptor.
Very cool bike Burt! Like them very much. Thanks a lot for your comments. Cheers, Mike
A well deserved popular choice. Selling like hot cakes I hear. I'm thinking of getting one too next year.
Beautiful work. I think I need to move to Oregon to hear these beautiful bikes and also to meet the gentlemen who keep these fantastic bikes working. The sound, the looks. Church music. Thanks
Nice Job Dave, you must be stoked to have it running again.
John B I think Mike was more relieved he wasn’t going to have to do anymore videos of me! 🤪
LOL.
Great job guys. Nice to see that bike back on the road again. It looks and sounds great 👍.
Thanks a lot Scott! Cheers, Mike
Wow I feel like I have been right there with you the whole time thanks and congrats! looks like it is time for a ride..Cheers,Eric
Thanks Eric. It's been a great project. Dave worked really quickly at the end and I couldn't keep up with all the projects. Cheers, Mike
Really enjoyed following the progress, nice completed bike. Thank you.
Thanks a lot Allan! Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully there will be more on this build. Hoping to go for a good ride before the summer ends! Cheers, Mike
Always an apprehensive moment .. well done 👍😀
Thanks Stephen. Yes, we were getting a little concerned and then the magical oil appeared, thankfully! ;) Cheers, Mike
Great to see it back on the road.
Thank you Ed! Now to take it for a decent ride! Cheers, Mike
It’s been great watching the videos mate thanks.👍

Beautiful machine!
Congratulation, Dave. Sounds smooth and sweet! It's great that it's running so well right from the start.
Thank you Bruce for your comment. Cheers, Mike
Excellent! Well done! Congratulations!
Thanks a lot Grant. Cheers, Mike
Well done lads! It's a shame they don't--and I mean CAN'T--make motorcycles like these anymore, isn't it? I vastly prefer a right-hand shift and a carb and an exhaust that doesn't choke the life out of the motor. Sadly, the current crop of Nanny-State-Approved rides offers nothing to really scratch that itch. Well, I guess I'll just have to content myself on my trusty '05 Royal Enfield Bullet 500 "Iron Barrel" single until I roll out my old '67 Norton N15CS "Desert Sled" hybrid from the shed for resurrection. You guys are a real inspiration to get that sorted out.
BilgemasterBill It’s not the manufacturers fault, govt regulations dictate a ton of things. The new Enfield 650s might be the closest to what you are looking for. I will say a well set up Commando is extremely practical. Ok, maybe pretty practical.
Hi Bill, good luck with the Norton N15CS. That is a very cool bike! Cheers, Mike
Noise is fun, but when the Japanese build a 650 V-twin with hp and handling equal to a Combat Commando but featuring superior electrics, brakes, and reliability then performance -oriented riders can live without the beautiful noise that the Norton makes. And I wouldn't call an engine that redlines at 11,000 "choked" Still, I'd pay twice the price if modern bikes looked as beautiful as a '72 Commando. And I also prefer carburetors to fuel injection.
Awesome build & bike! BTW where did you source the gas tank from?
David It came from Walridge a long time ago. I believe it came from The Tank Shop.
Super intéressant merci mais pas de sous titres ici ??
Great work Dave thanks for sharing, so satisfying to start up & see the oil returning. I noticed you kept to the 'nursery' track for the first few yards .. lol
Apart from running in & fine tuning Carburton etc do run without air filters?
atvb t ..
Tadpole No, I still need to put the air filter on.
Thanks a lot T. Glad you enjoyed this project. Best wishes, Mike
