@ksk did you enjoy the speaker implementation of Asahi more than the macOS itself?
Bro PRO models with Intel chip is not comparable with Asahi Speaker implementation. But still asahi remix sounds better on AIR Models than macOS that's my personal opinion. I like their fake bass called BanksTown it's simply clever.
Thanks for the review. Glad to hear that the speakers now work. However, until it's possible to connect a second screen I cannot imagine using this as my daily driver. Merry Christmas & keep up the good work.
HDMI ports do work tho. It's only the USB-C display alt mode that isn't supported yet

Apart from USB C displays you must try Asahi right now it's DOPE AF.

Built in MicroPhone is not supported. I didn't check the external Microphone.
Thanks for the video! I've been running Fedora for ages on my - still fully working - Macbook Air 2012. Can't wait to test this out on my M1 Air. But the mic needs to work before I test it.

@@kskroyaltech Decided to just go for it! Installed it this afternoon on my M1 Mac. Dual boot with MacOS. It absolutely flies! Mic is indeed not working and bluetooth audio is of lowfi quality. UA-cam videos are only in HD not 4k. But I love it already! Gonna test drive this for the coming time. Thanks for the install tutorial. Cheers!

Now its safe to say that linux can be run on macs
100% Safe. No problems. Better if you try with macOS Sonoma or higher Firmware or MacOS Ventura 13.5

Because as I heard before that in Asahi linux not gives lesser battery backup compared to macos(Alinux 9h where macos 18h)
My screen time usage on Asahi remix was around 6 Hours that involves working with apps like Firefox, VSCode, playing 4K videos, intelliJIdea & some personal PEGA PRPC Projects RUNNING in Chromium.

Worth to mention missing DRM protection library from Google which prevents playing Netflix and other DRM spoiled/protected services.

@@kskroyaltech headless would be great for Monero mining, because on my M2 Max the hashrate is capped due to Sonoma at 4.8 KH/s while doing proper benchmarks I should get 28 KH/s

I downloaded it on Tues and it worked really well, unfortunately I couldnt get box64/86 to run games. Waiting until someone figures out to get steam to run, hopefully with a flatpack.

You can only install one at the moment. There may be away that I am unaware off.
Can I use external display with this? Usb c hub to HDMI? Didn't get what are USB C displays

The only way would be wireless casting the monitor screen.

Frame rate does not look like it's 60 fps. Hope it is just the video and not the system itself.
This work is awesome. May become the reference laptop for Linux.
I shot in 30FPS. In real time usage of Asahi linux you will feel the power and speed.
Can you experiment with other desktop environments? Maybe sway, and awesomewm (if x11 is supported, that is)

No bro currently only M1 and M2 Macs. The support for M3 will be extended in coming months.
Maybe in a couple of years, everything will work on the MacBook Air M2, when Apple decides that they won't upgrade my machine OS. Until then, no reasons to use Linux.
But if you have never ARM linux, give a try its next level.
What a shame that external ssd boot isnt supported...

Short answer no. But it is possible to translate x86 instructions to arm.

@@rycerzwczerwonychdresach2896 At this point, Linux will only cripple the Apple silicon Macs. Linux is great and it runs everywhere, but when it comes to M1-M3 macs, Linux is a mom's basement hobby.
In some aspects it's better than macOS. But Linux ARM OS lacks the support of Apps.

Bro it's a Free OS and alternative to macOS. They are some things that takes sometime to work. The years of efforts by Asahi is so kind and supporting apple silicon Macs.
