Long time listener, first time caller. I nearly fell off my chair when you mentioned “Planes Over the Skyline” which is my most treasured Swervedriver song. I’m utterly floored by your love for this band. Comes from total left field. Criminally underrated and yes the guitar playing is phenomenal. Thank you for shining a light on them. Treasured as they are.
Never lose that feeling.
Thank you 🙏🏻
@@RickBeato I remember showing that song to my drummer in my band in 93 and being like...THIS >>>>>planes over the skyline....sound like this!!!
If you had a drummer that could sound like that, you had a good drummer!
same. I but Rick and I were at the same gigs in Atlanta :-)
Hell yes....shoulda been a single
Adam franklin is one of the most underappreciated musicians in rock history. Swervedriver should be huge!!
They sort of got the Big Star treatment especially when ejector seat was canned for a stateside release. I thought it was odd how they got treated especially while Oasis was lauded as something important back then, it now sounds quite dated in comparison to Swervedriver.
Grunge unfortunately just grew a larger audience than shoegaze...
Agree with all that, but don't forget Jimmy.
I love the vibe of Rick fanboying over Adam and Swervedriver, yet Adam being basically unaware that he's on the most lauded, respected, and popular music channel on youtube. It's fantastic and I can't thank you enough for putting one of the legends of rock music up on here.
Swervedriver are the soundtrack of my youth. I am 49 years old and my 15 year old daughter thinks her dad is some weirdo when I Rock out to them at home. I love Swervedriver and always will. I don't care if they make another album. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to have their music in my life! Great interview and Thank you for getting Adam on your channel. I hope he realizes how loved he is by true music fans all over the world. I am in Vancouver BC Canada.
@sdp 1972 - were the same age and yes swervedriver was part of my gazed out youth especially summer days driving around. Them, lush and Catherine wheel. My kids don’t even pay attention when I put on my weird noisy music anymore. Check out the band failure .... kinda like a heavier American version of swervedriver
48, here....
Swervedriver was IT for me... the 90s was - in my opinion - the LAST great decade for music... and hearing Adam and Rick discuss these ideas.... perfect. ESPECIALLY the discussion about tuning and Duress... the BEST track...well... maybe... How to choose...?
I was 25 in 93 and now 54 in 22, never lose that feeling......
You've got a lame daughter hahaha, 17 and just getting into them. I've been into swirlies, mbv, ride etc for a year or two now
Swervedriver is "Dad rock?" Sounds like she's got one cool daddy!
Rick talking about shoegaze, never thought it would happen but bless you
They did what the other shoegaze bands didn't do: they ROCKED!
Absolutely. Awesome nice treat.
Yes! As someone who loves shoegaze, classic rock, 90s rock, jazz, I can spend the whole damn day on Rick's channel and feel like a kid in a candy store.
@@davidtingley9978 MBV?
He’s said swervedriver was one of his favorite bands a while ago
Word gets around. What makes these INTERVIEWS great? The fact that you come at it from a place of respect, and you let them tell it their way. It’s not fluff, it’s not empty sensationalism. It’s entertaining because it’s not trying too hard to be so. Keep them coming Rick!!👍🏼👍🏼
Very well said. I honestly can't think of many interviewers who know how to play and engineer. That really does give Rick the Interviewer a depth I appreciate (now that you mentioned it 👍)
Totally agreed. These are the kind of musician interviews worthy of watching to.
I would love to see an interview like this with Ira Kaplan.
“A million stars out tonite, could spark neon from candlelight.” Fckn timeless
Can we get some love for Hum? For 25 yrs, I thought they were only about Stars. Now, I listen to 4 of their releases on a daily basis start to finish. These guys have expressed their love for Swervedriver.
All due respect to persistently popular classic rock greats and mainstream artists, but hearing Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Hüsker Dü, MC5, The Stooges, Cocteau Twins and (especially) JOHN FAHEY talked about or at least mentioned in a Rick Beato video? Breath of fresh air!
Adam quickly mentioned Hüsker Dü as an influence. You gotta get Bob Mould on the show, Rick. Everyone who saw them started a band. Also, Sugar always gets lost in the 90’s conversation, Copper Blue and Beaster are effing monster recordings. Sugar was America’s Swervedriver, you either worshiped them or never heard of them.
Agree. Bob is still putting out mighty stuff. Check out Blue Hearts from 2020. Fierce album. Btw saw Swervedriver in the 90s at the Metro in Sydney. Fabulous. Killer version of Duress.
I worshipped them and still do, Bob is a legend!
Copper Blue is a masterpiece, Hoover Dam one of the best rock songs ever.
I thought Beaster was complete junk
Strange.
And Dave Barbe cause he has a great studio too!
@@refl3ktor I liked beaster but there were a couple toss off sounding tracks on it.
Swervedriver was the only band that my mother who played classical music on piano was ever interested in that I brought home. She said it was like being on the edge of her seat. She was right. Swervedriver is so fulfilling musically. I listen when I am alone or driving.
Here Rick goes again! As a guy in my 60s and a bit of a Prog snob, I missed a lot of the 90s upstarts and bands that he has brought up. And again Rick proves The importance of this channel in presenting many under heard musicians and music that now can be revealed and enjoyed by more generations.
Swervedriver....either you love them, or you've never heard of them.
Incorrect. I've heard of them and I don't love them.
I've heard of them for a while. I'm convinced that if I could just get through the albums 3-4 times to learn the songs/parts I could actually start to enjoy them. I've gotten into inaccessible genres/artists before, but this one has proved very challenging for me!
Right? So true.
Never heard of ‘em
@@Texturas75 woah
Fucking someone give the great Swervedriver the credit they deserve. Ultra ultra underrated. Raise and Mescal Head are sublime.

some EPs also
PREACH
Agreed!
I loved seeing them in Hamilton, ON. with SIANspheric(local band) at "This Ain't Hollywood".. What a show.
Two favourite bands, an influence from twitter to play this damn show. You know, like a 60 person max bar setting. And someone made it happen.
I asked for it months before it actually happened, so hopefully I was the consideration for it to happen. :D
@@gerardlee4319 I hunted for the "Last Train To Satansville" EP for years (before the internet) before I finally found it at Amoeba in SF. The b-sides on that EP (Cars Converge On Paris, Land Of The Lost, The Hitcher) are some of the band's best songs.
In 1990-91 I was going to art college in Exeter and it was the mighty John Peel who introduced us all to Swervedriver. I was already a huge Joni Mitchell and Michael Hedges guitarist but it was Swervedriver that made me wake up to the power of open tunings in overdrive. I've been a fan ever since. Thanks to Adam and Rick for taking me back and putting it all in the now.
I've never heard another guitar duo like Adam and Jimmy that can play off each other's parts so well. A warning to those who haven't heard Swervedriver and don't have one already; you *will* buy a Fender Jazzmaster.
I think an interview with Alan Moulder is now due. Every time I hear an interesting sound or band Alan Moulder’s name always pops up in the credits.
I second that suggestion. Alan's done a lot of stuff. He's also married to one of my favorite singers, Toni Halliday, from one of my favorite bands during the 90's, Curve - much of which had Alan as one of the engineers/producers. Along with, of course, Flood.
@@joeldf6859 Indeed, Curve was mentioned by Rick in one of his videos! I think it was about great basslines.
I had such a thing for Toni Halliday back in the early 90s.
Major Pop-crush
@@Texturas75
Dean Garcia. Great bassist. I believe he's Jerry Garcia's son, not 100% about that.
That would be great, Alan Moulder is borderline genius and an interview with a man as knowledgeable as Rick would be incredibly interesting.
This video is a love letter to my soul! Swervedriver are sublime. Adam is the patron saint of guitars to me.
Seriously
I remember hearing Son Of Mustang Ford on John Peel's radio show about 1990 and being blown away. Amazing band
Swervies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG so happy you are featuring this band. Mezcal Head is one of my favorites of all time!
I LOVE YOU RICK ! Well, I loved you before, but this is something truly special and actually so life affirming for me right now. I needed this interview. How did you know ?
I'm balling right now. This is such a treat.
I was obsessed with Swervedriver from the first time I heard the first EP. Son of Mustang Ford is SO intense. NO ONE in the UK was playing music like that at the time.
One of the most underrated bands of all time. They were SO much more than just another shoegaze band. Swervedriver put the rest to shame and never fitted the shoegazer genre at all.
Way ahead of their time and the music has not aged at all. They still sound fresh today.
The lyrics to Rave Down from memory... just because.... (must have listened to this song a millions times at least):
"Before the pistol cracks, spins me out sideays. Like the sharp hard hit of a car crash in a dream"
"Those kids on the corner, wanna' beat box my brains to bits. You can't cut creed clean, 'cos it ain't black and white like they seem"
"Rave down, hit the ground"
"4am on a hell gas station, before he goes onto the beach where the breeze blows easier...... flowing..."
"We hung tight all night and no gig to go to. There could be something happening here, but there's just no place to go"
"Your town ain't happening enough no more."
"RAVE DOWN"
Probably all wrong, that's how I hear it in my head. One of the best songs ever written imo.
Man, I'm so overwhelmed... Swervedriver is a massive thing for me. Totally unique band that's hard to define.
I'm off for a major Swervedriver binge...
Beautifully put!
In my heart, "Rave Down" will forever be blasting from the cassette deck in my 83 Honda Prelude, circa 1992: driving at night, windows and moon roof open, no money in my pocket but on my way to a show or band practice or to hang out with my friends all night.
It's good to know that I can tap into that feeling of youth sometimes, if I need to.
Love Swervedriver. The trick I learned from them is putting the wah AFTER the distortion / OD pedals, and using it for crashing walls of white noise.
For sure, big fan of that sound! Also, tuning the B string to A on a standard tuned guitar. Makes regular bar chords sound Swervy.😅
@@angelotro : Good tip!
I’m namechecked in this interview & I learned things I never knew thanks Rick! Adam’s an amazing musician, and deserves the title 🤩🙌
I had the pleasure of meeting Adam Franklin one afternoon in 2016 when we were both taking a cigarette break behind the bar where I was working at that time: me, from my kitchen job and he from the soundcheck that I'd been listening to very eagerly as it pounded up through the floor from the club downstairs. I introduced myself and told him how unhappy I was to have to miss their show on account of having to work that night. His response: "I guess we'll just have to play a little louder so you can hear us better, mate." Great guy, great guitarist, great band.
I saw them a few years ago in Tucson; they played Raise front to back. The opening to Sci-Flyer still gives me chills.
Speaking of Shoegaze I would like to see an interview with Ride or Slowdive.
My Bloody Valentine too, please!
Slowdive is one of my absolute favorite bands, would LOVE to see that interview happen
I'd love to see an interview with Andy Bell from Ride!
@@Chris-Ian He was in Oasis too so that would give for a great interview
Catherine Wheel, too.
Thank you for this interview Rick. Longtime SWD fan. Guitar interplay between Adam and Jimmy has always been awesome and inspiring
“Never Lose That Feeling” was the song that did it for me. The Bass and drums are locked in so tight. Just freaking awesome.
For me it was "Blowin' Cool". That fuckin' song...oh my goodness! But yeah...the song "Never Lose That Feeling" is amazing as well. "Mezcal Head" is a masterpiece album.
It's the guitar break on that one for me, those two tunings bouncing off each other... all my (remaining) hairs are on end. Makes me feel like I'm actually lifting off the floor.
From the sounds of it, alternate tuning could be used by an experienced musician to recapture some of the feeling of being a newbie musician. As Adam said "you don't really know where you're going." That describes my efforts at learning to make music perfectly!
I’ve only played in alternative tunings for the about a decade. A bit of me dies when I occasionally go to standard.
Alternative tunings so that no one can copy your sound straight away without knowing where to start.
I can't believe I'm the only one who was first introduced to Swevedriver on the video game Road Rash (awesome sound track) and who was blown away how both "Duel" and especially "Last Train to Satansville" measured up equal to even Soundgarden, also on that soundtrack. I think the song title of "Satansville" may be a bit unfortunate but the song is superb. Thanks Adam for making and Rick for appreciating a special band.
I’ve been singing their praises since the beginning. Love them!
This is going to be a good one! first time I heard Duel I was blown away, love Swervedriver
🤟
never really heard them until i joined Rick's channel. I actually put them on a couple weeks ago during work and twelve hours later was still jamming them on the way home.
one of the most underrated bands of the 90’s, they should’ve been absolutely huge
I remember watching these guys at a festival in the 90’s when I was 16 and was hooked straight away. I went straight out and brought their albums.
Was just such a cool sound, Raise and Mezcal Head are just iconic albums, really had a big impact on my youth. They could have been so huge. They deserve all the love they get!
Great interview! I could feel Rick's love for Swervedriver and see it in his eyes at the end. Love it!
So happy to see this! Swervedriver is a behemoth, and a wonderful grab bag of unique notes and ideas. Romantic, brooding, pummeling, menacing, euphoric. Jigsaw Guitar parts. Amazing noises. So musical and exciting. No other band like them.
I’m one of those “weirdos” who was more excited about the release of Raise than Nevermind. So so cool you did this. I hope Adam takes you up on your offer and makes more appearances on your channel!
Ur not a weirdo...
I was doing college radio on Thursday nights in 91 and we got all these records all at once. Everybody was clamoring for teen spirit, but when I'd play Rave Down, I'd get more calls from people wanting to know what it was and how to get it. I had probably 50 people come down to the basement and make copies of Raise on tape from one of the two turntables. Very annoying since could only cue from the alternate turntable. The CD player was bad, and the digital selection was not great, so I'd resort to talking between songs to switch records and get them ready to go. I guess people could get enough of Nirvana on the mainstream radio by then. Someone stole the two copies of Bleach...
Same here. At the time, I was convinced they were the next really big band..
Bought Raise straight after Reading '91 - one of my favourite albums
Me too!!!! Easily....got both at the time of release.....I was 15 I think😊
Swervedriver is absolutely awesome man. Not many bands like them I'd say.
Kevin Shields was first king of shoegaze that came to my mind.
That's what I thought too!
Same
Yep
Same tbh
His headline totally fooled me.
This is awesome. Swervedriver were my favorite band of the ‘90s. ‘Never lose that feeling’!!!
Thank you!!
Adam is seriously genius at writing.
I saw them in Sacramento last year and I'd been waiting 20 years to see them live. Needless to say...they delivered the goods.
Former managing editor of Drum! magazine (wrote for a bunch of other musician-oriented outlets too), sticking my head in to say you're a damn treasure.
I love Swervedriver SO. MUCH. Just watched this video again. Thank you SO MUCH Rick for your Swervedriver support. And I get it. They are the best band on the planet.
I was introduced to Swervedriver by Rick. Just wanted to say thanks!
Rick, thank you for your expertise and curation!!
These videos have introduced me to both old and new artists that I would have never known about.
I love that about Josh Homme too, great guitar parts PLUS singing. So good
I still think his best guitar work was with Kyuss- but I still agree with you.
Saw Adam play many times, but I did see them on the Pumpkins tour and Jimmy was sick an unable to play. This was in Tampa '93. Adam carried both guitar parts and they did the show anyway. Asked Adam about that at a Bolts show in DC a few years ago (the crowd was 5 dudes and me, sadly). We had a laugh.
Saw them on the tour in Columbus. And almost every tour ever since.
I discovered Swervedriver playing the Road Rash computer game it had Soundgarden, Therapy? & Paw on it also - This has been my favourite interview so far!
Likewise. Don’t forget Monster Magnet! Was always a fan of Soundgarden, but have been a huge fan of all those bands ever since. Paw is another unknown band that is so underrated! I’ve searched and collected all the Adam Franklin material I could find to this day.
@@thisfireburns9474 I love Dragline by Paw
One of my all time favorites, thank you for giving Swervedriver the recognition they have always deserves!!! Great to see them on your channel Rick! One of the all time best!! Stumbled up on them while always searching my local alt record store for new Smashing Pumpkins singles or live discs. Swervedriver being close in the alphabet, I always saw their records, decided to give it a listen to back in the day when you could do that in shop, and heard instant awesomeness. Sandblasted blew my mind, other level stuff in that song..... Fan for life from that moment!!
Rick I’m pleasantly surprised you are a big Swervedriver fan. Highly underrated band...period. Thank you
I really admire Adams creativity in using alternate tunings. I did not know about Swervedriver until I heard Rick beato mention them and as I listen to the music it totally reminds me of the early 90s. This is a great interview.
I was a die hard death metaller back then but even I couldn't get enough of Raise. So cool.
I'm thrilled to find this interview, Rick, albeit several years later. Adam is such a treasure, both as a musician and a person.
Big fan of the shoegaze scene, especially the melting chorus effects that bittersweetly weep from the strings of the Cocteau Twins guitars. My Bloody Valentine's "Loveless" too, is a lush wash of ambient noise. A hazy distorted fizzy fuzz daydream coming to life. Nice nice nice to see it getting mentioned here via Swervedirver. Loved the chat on Nirvana here aswell, and that beautiful time of music in 1991.
These videos are always so interesting!
I didn't know of Swervedriver up until Rick mentioned them a year or 2 ago. I did know & love Catherine Wheel's "Chrome" album. I remember blasting that cassette tape in my car back in the day and loving the way the guitars sounded so effin loud & cool! Didn't know at the time that I was listening to shoegazing music.
I'd say Catherine Wheel's Ferment and Chrome are better than anything Swervedriver ever did.
Rob Dickinsin's Fresh Wine for the Horses is a massively underrated album
I've lived in Seattle since the 1980's and unlike any of the other shoegazing bands, Catherine Wheel somehow got played regularly by the main Seattle Alt Rock station, KNDD, right along with Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc., in the early 1990's. I did not ever hear Swervedriver on the radio here, but I saw references to them touring with Soundgarden and comparisons to Catherine Wheel, who I loved. One listen to the Mezcal Head album and I was fully sold. Just a great, underrated band that is harder edged and more diverse than most of the other Shoegaze bands.
Thanks so much for this interview. Swerve driver is one of my all time favorites for the reasons you identify: innovative tunings, killer drumming, the overall aesthetic, and above all: songwriting. Mezcal Head is an excellent album, front to back.
TRUE STATEMENT: "Every musician loves Swervedriver". I am a working musician, they are one of my all time favorite bands, their work is phenomenal and SO undervalued.
Saw them in 92 with Monster Magnet, Pearl Jam and Soungarden. Fan ever since.
Damn. Now that's a show.

Having that blindsided feeling how did I not ever hear of this band in the 90’s??? This is great!
I’ve listened to ‘Duress’ sooo many times, incredible song, a sonic journey, even more of a ride with headphones on.
Great show Rick, love your channel and watch every episode, thanks much!
First time Servedriver listner. This band gives me a similar vibe to Bffy Clyro. Intelligent, smart rock that isn't cliche'd. Fun to listen to. Thanks for the turn-on.
Rick, this is one of the reasons I love your channel, you’re always teaching me something new or turning me on to a band I never heard of. I have to be honest I had to stop in the middle and google shoegaze because it was a term I wasn’t familiar with (I’m old and kind of stop listening to the radio when grunge arrived) also had to listen to Duel before I went back to the interview. Keep it coming man, I’m still not to old to learn.
I was captivated by this video...the more I learn here, the more I WANT! Thanks fellas👍
I have been a Swervedriver fan since day one. I find inspiration in every one of their songs. They're supremely talented and amazing live!
Bout time, noone talks about them , I got to interview him in the Toshack highway yours in Atlanta, followed him for two shows, and we hit this college town and everyone went across the street to watch some crappy band, and there was like ten ppl, and we sat at the bar, I mentioned Hendrix, alternate tunings, and I told him I just can't learn his songs, and don't try bc it's sacred. I thoroughly killed Hendrix and Cobain's songs. And they became stale, and I couldn't figure out his, and he told me about finding a chord and tuning it to it. He played 99th dream solo fingerstyle and I sang the callback chorus and it was beautiful.
Bonus points to you for jamming on ANY song from that album, and triple that cuz you did it with the man himself! 😆
amazing to have been lucky enough to see him do Toshack Highway. I recall a 98 Swervedriver show at a Virginia college after seeing them in Philly and NYC the two days previous, where like 20 people came...at $2 a pop. as intimate as it gets and interaction with crowd and rarer live songs. unbelievable musicians
@@gregnyssen1989 yes man, we talked for about an hour, at the bar, drinking and smoking camels, he dedicated 99th dream solo style to us. Best English band of the 90's
Adam - mellow and twisting music harmonically with ordered dissonance. Awesome person - awesome musician. Brilliant!
Creation had an amazing roster of bands in the early 90's. No one even mentions Boo Radleys but Giant Steps is still up in my top 10 albums of all time.
Rick - your channel is absolutely what a UA-cam channel should be. Informative, engaging, high quality and content filled... Thank you so much!
Great vid, Rick! So cool to meet someone you admire so much and for them to be this generous and classy. Gonna dive deep into the swervedriver catalog. I really loved what he said about getting into unknown territory on alternate tunings, some of the best ideas come when the moves you’re used to making elicit a totally different sonic effect. Cheers!
You've found more appropriate words for the very similar thoughts I was having. Thanks!
My sister picked up my guitar once, and I’d left it in open D. I was about ten, and read about it, so I tried it. (Made me feel like a serious blues guy.🤣) She started playing normal chord shapes, noticed something was up, then proceeded to spend the entire evening creating interesting things, simply because it was unexpected and inspiring. Funny how that works sometimes.
Going "into unknown territory on alternative tunings" is pretty-much what Shoegaze is about 🌌
🇮🇪
@@trevordoolan5011 totally agree! Standard tuning often sets a limit on how resonant and sublime the guitar can be. But if you just tune those intervals a little closer to the actual harmonic series (as I feel like most of the time we tune to open /alternate tunings by ear and really hear those pure intervals) it takes on this otherworldly quality that permeates so much shoegaze
I am also from Atlanta and also a gigantic Swervedriver fan. So awesome you finally got Adam on! These guys are criminally underappreciated, seems like no ones ever heard of them.
Thanks Rick! Swervedriver are such an underrated band in an underrated genre.
I saw Swervedriver live a couple of times back in the 90s. Phenomenal shows.
I know tons of people in totally different genres of music, like from Celtic players to Death Metal dudes who all just worship Swervedriver. There's a reason for this. Good songwriting, great playing is universal.
Rick this warmed my heart, glad to hear that you’re a shoegaze fan. I love shoegaze with all my heart: MBV, Ride, and especially Slowdive
I have to thank you for introducing me to Swervedriver and Shoegazing in general! I was a bit young when this came out, but this would have totally been what I would have listened to.
I recently discovered a newer shoegaze band called Dead horse one, they are actually from France and am French and never heard of them before and I now live in California... they sing in English and their harmonies are beautiful. Not as rock as Swervedriver, more cool, cinematic shoegaze I'd say but I recommend them!
I was a bit late to this. Passed up a chance to see Lush with Ride at the Cats Cradle. Dumb. Got to see The Catherine Wheel on their last US tour and it is one of my top 5 favorite concerts I’ve ever seen.
So cool that Rick is promoting Swervedriver. Love their music!
Adam! Nice get. His brilliant, underheard _99th Dream_ has some of the most gorgeous, inventive chord progressions.
This just made my day, month, year!! The way Adam slides down to chords sounds just amazing. Yeah, this just made my year. Hope this exposes this great music to more people. 😊
I always find it strange how some of my local bands (Oxford) are well know worldwide Radiohead, Ride, Swervedriver, Supergrass, Nik Turner, Hurricane no 1.
Hail fellow Oxonian, It was great growing up with all these bands from our area making it to the top. I can remember seeing Supergrass when they were called The Jennifers, Gaz was about 17 😂 I think it was in the King and Queen in Wheatley, I might be mistaken it was a very long time ago 😱

Adam Franklin of Swervedriver. Too cool!
I have been listening to your podcasts for a while now when I stumbled upon this. I never thought that Swervedriver would be on your radar. The band were completely overlooked in the 90s and Adam Franklin is a great songwriter and guitarist. Thank you thank you thank you for this interview!! They are absolutely insane live. I last saw them when they toured with Failure. Adam is so humble.
I'm not sure who was smiling more during this interview - Rick or myself. :D

Your in for a treat, enjoy.
Kill the Superheroes is on the extended version of Raise and my favorite track of theirs.
Thank you for featuring Adam/Swervedriver. I discovered them in the mid 90's around the time Raise came out and was blown away by the overall creativity in their music, the harmonies, melodies etc., then catching them open for the Smashing Pumpkins. They fell off my radar for a long time but a few years ago, I was staying in Joshua Tree at an Air BnB and there was an incredible record collection in the house that we dove into, of course including I wasn't born to lose you. I immediately thought "this album is amazing, how did I miss this one for so long" thinking it was from around the era of Raise, but it was new, and the songs were/are so good! I immediately rediscovered my love of their catalog, caught them opening up for Failure in Denver in 2019 and am a dedicated fan for life. I've always been puzzled as to why they aren't more commercially successful, but knowing that they are so well respected by musicians makes perfect sense regardless.
I Could Sleep For A Thousand Years! Adam Franklin and Bolts of Melody in the thumbnail. As well as his work with Swervedriver, that is a great album too.
This is just indie guitarist's heaven. Great band, great interview.
Thanks for this. I've had Raise on CD since college days (prob one of the oldest CDs I have now that I think of it). Still listen to it. Great band. Like all great bands they have their own, easily identifiable sound.
So stoked to see you do a video on Swervedriver! I’ve been massive fans of these guys since the early 90’s - so much in fact that my own bands have been likened to Swwrvedriver because of their influence on our sound. These guys are amazing. ❤️
