    People need to make more cold brew at home. I prefer making something closer to concentrate. And use a french press! It makes brewing way easier.
    1. Use a 1:4 ratio of coffee (g):water (g/mL)
    2. Brew using a french press for 24-48 hours
    3. Filter through the french press (I filter it once more through a paper filter for increased clarity and less bitterness)
    4. Dilute with water/ice/milk

    1 use beans and grind coarse (never use store ground!)
    2 let it steep at room temp, 24 hrs is more top flavors longer to 36 hrs taste more like eating a bean which both are preference
    3 dont add ANYTHING else! You're diluting the coffee and negating the positive benefits
    4 freeze cold brew if you're gonna ice it
    5 if really wanting full benefits healthwise store and drink at room temp. Chilling changes the flavor profile

      I recommend everyone double the coffee and half the water, or at least one of the 2 ..
      Leave it on counter on first 24hrs stirring occasionally and using a French press will make straining easier ..

    That seems like a simple way to make my own cold coffee because when I buy cold coffee it’s almost 6 dollars and you only get probably 4 to 5 maybe less depending on how big your coffee cup is of drinks. And I usually just use cold coffee and I use Snickers coffee mate snickers it’s delicious and that’s all I put in there and add ice. That’s my favorite right there

    You do t want to let it sit or steep any longer than 20 hours in the fridge. 18-20 hours is all and longer is not better because any more than 20 hours, it gets bitter tasting. Starbucks lets their cold brew steep in fridge for exactly 20 hours before putting in coffee kegs to be served. Also if coffee is bitter than using just about five tiny grains of salt in cup can cut the bitterness without making it taste salty. You can use a cheese cloth and than a coffee filter to sift out the coffee grounds if you want none in the coffee instead of a strainer and wet the coffee filter first so it moves through faster without absorbing the flavor. With cold brew, you can use fresh or stale coffee beans, it doesn’t matter. I like to use coffee beans and ground them up before using only because they keep longer and won’t get bacteria or mold in them like ground up coffee can do if it gets moist. Hope these tips helped

  • @fonsomarz
    @fonsomarz Рік тому

    Dang 8:1 ratio that coffee be weak! Haha fresh beans grounded coarse and a ratio of 4:1 for 14ish (not refrigerated) hours you’ll have some great tasting coffee that is not sour or bitter.
