Thank you for the kind words. I vacuum the gravel as I change out 25% of the water once per week; it takes me about an hour. I have a magnetic algae scraper which makes cleaning algae off the acrylic pretty easy.
Great fish selection, awesome tank, it's so refreshing to see someone use a monster sized tank not just to cram in a load of pacu and Arowana but to give smaller fish a good quality of life, nice one mate
I made a gravel vac that is 50" long out of 2" PVC. It takes some effort to vacuum the bottom, but it's worth it...I like to have substrate in my tanks and I think the fish do too.
Wow what a beautiful selection of fish! Normally with a tank this size you just see it filled to the max with big cats and arrowana and big mean cichlids! I love the selection you chose because it’s very natural and you got a great variety. I love the big mean cichlids with the variety of schooling fish including those beautiful wide bar silver dollars and the clown loaches and I love the pink tail chalceus I really want one! Great tank ! Good job not overstocking and making a true habitat! Well done
This is more of my style. Most people with tanks this large would have some huge fish in them but those huge fish would barely have enough room to move. I would do something more like this, with many smaller fish so each fish has tons of room.
WILD THINGS the best thing would be to not imprison any fish or animals of any size so that they have the most space ever... In nature. After a few years of the aquarium hobby I realised how wrong having animals as pets are. Haven't bought an animal as a pet in years and never again will I. It's wrong and depressing unless you have no life and want to sit in your house watching fake nature (animals being trapped waiting to be fed).
At least we make our best effort to make them survive and thrive, i know its basically putting him in a glass box, but at least they are being treated by the best owner that its basically aquarium hobbyists
Nice size tank. I think you deserve even more respect for choosing a decent selection of fish, and not just over stocking it with the biggest, ugliest fish you could your hands on.
I hate those huge fish! I'd much rather see a bunch of smaller fish with plenty of space. Everyone can plainly see it's a big tank, it's not like you need a huge fish to prove it.
Beautiful fish tank you have there just the right amount of everything in there. Do you have a blog or info on filtration system, fish, set up etc etc ??
Thanks, much appreciated. I created a build thread on the MonsterFishKeepers website. There are a bunch of details on the whole setup there, but I also have a video of the filter here: ua-cam.com/video/3g4KGI7caho/v-deo.html
Makina Korleone Gracias amigo. Puedes ver un video del filtro aqui- ua-cam.com/video/3g4KGI7caho/v-deo.html Mi espanol es muy malo pero puedo trartar de explicarlo. Los detalles estan en el descripcion.
I had to sub your channel bruv. I built my first acrylic tank in April 2015. I ordered the panels pre-cut and it was shipped to my house 2 weeks late. Needless to say they forgot about delivering it and it stayed in 30 degree heat for the 2 weeks. It arrived and I accepted the shipment as it was all beautifully wrapped up. To cut a long story short, the panels were warped. I had to buy extra clamps and wood in an attempt to straighten the panels for cementing/welding. Instead of an 8 hour build, it turned into 3 days, as I was running around trying to source other equipment to assist in the straightening project lol. Eventually it was done and even though I am not totally pleased with it, and it does not look as good as yours, I love it and it is pretty decent considering the material I had to work with. It takes center stage in my home and I have since spoken to the supplier, whom has since given me large discounts on the acrylic on my other 2 tanks, which I may add is really wonderful. But your tank is absolutely huge, Magnificient! My largest tank at the moment is 4.5ft x 2.2ft x 2.2ft. Acrylic is really beautiful. Keep on fishing. Oh it weighs about just over 200lbs.
Thanks bud. Since getting straight panels, it's a breeze to build. Flame polishing, very easy. Learnt how to build these tanks watching Joey 'The King of DIY.' Amazing kid. Anyway thanks for replying. One day I may get a big enough room to house a monster tank like yours. Later.
I do-NOT want to think about doing water-changes of any sizably effective percentage on the thing... Let-alone the effort or monthly cost of regularly servicing the filter or chemistry.
It probably has an automatic water change system in it, at least that what I think, I can't imagine doing a regular water change in such a large aquarium
If filtration is done right, he doesn't have to. Except to change filter floss 1x a month and vacuum the bottom twice a year. If filtration is even righter, he might just need to stir it up and change out the floss and done.
_more than 20 times i watched this video...i love this tank..... beautiful fish collection with such a massive tank....may be one day i will get..)))))))_
that's an awesome tank!! knowing me, i'd have a bunch of guppies for a breeding tank. Or a betta sorority. Or a single arowana. Or an Oscar or three with a pleco. Or about 6 angelfish with a few other smaller fish. Or I would put a bunch of nano/small fish in there like oto cats, ember tetras, and endlers with some RCS. i'd probably have to include cory cats somewhere and somehow in the stocking
philipschultz Thanks Philip. I just sent you a message with some cost details. The tank was built by Tenecor out of Phoenix Arizona (they are no longer in business).
My 55G is not even this clean with a oscar, what filtration are you running?! Incredible miracle of a setup you have; majestic that showcases some awe inspiring fish.
Thanks for the kind words. The filter is a 150 gallon sump. I made a video of the filter if you are interested in checking it out: ua-cam.com/video/3g4KGI7caho/v-deo.html
Holy sweet cream on nipple that simply blew my mind, elegant yet effective! Keep being awesome! Btw what are the rough numbers for starting up and maintaining a setup of these mammoth properties?
+MasterAquatics It's not so bad. I made a gravel vac using 1.5" tubing, so it drains pretty quickly (~15 - 20 minutes for a 50% water change). It's refilling that takes a while (a little less than an hour). The whole process takes about 1.5 hrs.
Looks like you found the video I took of the filter. I don't have a video of maintenance. All I do is pull out the filter socks, blast them with the hose and I drain 50% of the water using a big gravel vacuum I built out of PVC and sump tubing. I refill using two hoses so that it fills faster. Total process takes about 2 hours and I do it every Sunday. I use a magnetic algae scraper to clean algae off the front and side panels...I don't bother trying to clean the back panel.
+alex bomb I know, having my 10 gallon is awesome, but having a 700 gallon like the one in the video it will be extremely awesome, but I know that it will be really hard to maintain it
Angel Carreño I have a 30 but still have a huge canister filter..... lol at least my tank is clean.... and have gourami fish and tetras (since it's a small tank, fish are fairly easy, and they mix well)
Zoo Sanantonioawesome Not much has changed, except the Pinktail Chalceus passed away. =( I'll see if I can make a new one, but I have uploaded quite a few if you check out my channel.
I will love to put some rainbow fish with angels and big gouramis like kissing gouramies and blue gouramies, with some small semi-aggressive schooling fish like congo tetras and giant danios.
Alex Diaz dis d dumist tank I ever seened u hav dis big tank wit stupid fish selecton ony good fishs u hav r clone loches but everything ells in der is joke it like bying giant bird cage n putting in der nuting but pigins

Ok, friend. Thank you for this information because in France and despite my long years in aquaristic, I have never seen these fish for sale. Really thank you again. GREAT !!!!! JP
No problem at all. They are relatively uncommon in the United States; very few shops carry them so typically you would have to order them. I watched some of your drawing videos...beautiful. You are very talented.
Thanks Debbie. I have a magnetic algae scraper, a 4' long grabber and a made a large version with 1.5" tubing of the python no spill clean n fill. It's not much different than maintain a smaller tank, it just takes a while to refill after a water change.
+Alex Diaz hey Alex. Could you also tell me how much your whole set up cost? I have the room and the Concrete slab foundation for something like this myself.
Tank looks great Alex! Finally took all the advice you were giving on monsterfishkeepers about Laguna pumps and got myself a max flo 2400. Hopefully I'll get it up and running today. Keep us updated on that beautiful tank brother!
Hi Gayan- Glad to hear you like the tank. I have a video that shows the filtration. It's titled "770 Gallon Filtration." The water drains from the main tank into polypropylene filter bags located in the sump. Water then flows through biological filter media, then is pumped back up to the display tank. I clean the filter bags and I change out half of the water every 10 days or so and that seems to help keep the water nice and clear.
Alex how's the tank looking today?? I have a 220 acrylic and was wondering about your technique keeping the acrylic clean without scratching it? Being that your tank is so tall. I've always used microfiber cloth and so far after 2 years it's scratch free. Love to hear how you keep yours beautiful! THANKS:)
Hi Peter, The tank is running well. I'll do an update video hopefully sometime before this summer. I've put a couple of scratches in the tank with the magnetic scraper. My gravel is fairly large, so there's not much risk getting a pebble stuck between the acrylic and the magnet, but you are right...some tiny fragments will inevitably get stuck in there and create scratches, but if you are careful, it's not bad. The best strategy to avoid scratches is doing what you are doing.
such a beautiful tank really thought out , bet it looks wonderful at night also when they are schooling together thank you for sharing this awesome vid !xx
+Elizabeth R Hey Elizabeth, glad you enjoyed the video. I actually shoot almost all the videos I've uploaded at night, otherwise there is a brutal glare on the front panel...you are right, the tank definitely looks better at night. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you for reviewing my speed drawing videos of my star designs. This is my first passion. The aquarium of certain fish also of which I own a tank of 500 liters. Best regards
Thanks Leroy. The tank is 10'L x 3'W x 4'T...comes out to around 770 gallons. I clean it with a big sump hose (drain out 50% of the water every 10 days or so) and I have a magnetic algae scraper so I don't have to dive in to clean the walls.
It's just so well proportioned that it doesn't really look all that big without some reference point. Very well done tank, and nice selection of fish too, tho I think I'd have smaller fish that schooled together maybe four to six different types. Thanks a bunch!
5 years late to respond, but I wish I had gone with smaller species as well. The Wide-Bar Silver Dollars have gotten enormous, much bigger than I expected. A group of Angelfish, Congo Tetra, Pork chop Rasbora, Madagascar Rainbowfish I think would look nice.
How did you anchor that giant branch? I've got a big tree root that refuses to sink...sucker won't go down for anything. I braced it with heavy slate and it broke free even after soaking.
I soaked them in my hot tub; weighed them down each with two 50lb sacks of gravel for a few months to help get them waterlogged. Even after that, they were still semi buoyant. The one on the left you can see a large 30lb stone on top the roots coming out on the right side and the one on the right is kinda wedged into place, preventing it from floating up. They've been in the tank for 7+ years and they are still semi-buoyant. My advice would be to get some bigger rocks.
beautiful! but I always wondered- when people have aquariums that big and with large fish, how do they clean the water? I have a 20 gallon tank and I struggle to maintain even that. lol
+Jack son Thanks Jack. I clean the filter every 10 days or so, I use a magnetic algae scraper to keep the walls clean and I change out the water using a large scale DIY version of a python no spill clean n fill. IMO, consistent water changes are the most important aspect of keeping a healthy tank. Not overstocking a tank also really helps. The fewer fish you have (the lower the bio-load), the easier it is to maintain.
Fishtanksdirect sells sumps/filters, but you can just find a used tank on craigslist for cheap and build your own for way less money. That's what I would have done if my tank didn't come with a filter.
A lot of people with big tanks get ahead of themselves and over stock the tank and the fish are too crowded, but I'm happy to see that you didn't do that.
Thanks Carly. I know what you mean. I've seen a lot of those tanks and I don't find them appealing. I think where I went wrong is getting the Widebar Silver dollars. They are double the size they were back when this video was taken and they are open water swimmers...I should have gotten a smaller species of silver dollar because I feel like these guys need a larger footprint to really shine. Thanks for the kudos. Glad to hear you enjoyed the video.
Nice tank and setup. Like how you have aren't overstocked like other people would do, if they have this tank size. Those fish are very thriving, that I can see. What kind of silver dollars are those?
Thanks Chao. Glad to hear you like the tank. I have heard them referred to as "Widebar Silver Dollars," "Black-Bar Silver Dollars" and also "Emperor Blue Hooks."
Wow, over 47,000 views. If I had known so many people were going to watch this video, I would have worn my nice socks- lol.
Lol XD amazing aquarium

Dang man a nice big tank without over stocking is something you don't see anymore
awesome tank
Pixelated Gold A tank with decent stocking and beautiful fish, things you wish to see nowadays

Nice size tank.

Vicky B to each his own
hi all I'm trying and1
even this tank is way to small, for this kind of fish.
I'm usually into monster tanks with real mean predator fish in, but this honestly is one of my favorites. Very nice tank man, looks beautiful

Don't be fooled, it's only a 100 gallon tank. He's just really tiny.
Hahaha wtf
hahaha that was good man, made me laugh :)
Haha yeah and that's a small step ladder
lol!
nothing

The bigger the tank, the less work you have with it, as long as not overstocked of course. Word.

Wow amazing tank...I have a tank 140lt and I want to put there guppies...Can I put platies and mollies together with guppies?
that's an awesome tank!!

ShadowKittyKat Thesmolbean the small tetras might get overwhelmed with such a big tank and might die, jk I don't know maybe they will start gyming
ShadowKittyKat Thesmolbean youhavereceivedthiscc
1 redtail catfish.
that is an amazing tank please can i have details of how much and where did you get the tank built. thanks
philipschultz Thanks Philip. I just sent you a message with some cost details. The tank was built by Tenecor out of Phoenix Arizona (they are no longer in business).
Alex Diaz hi sorry i dident receive your message
philipschultz No worries, that's weird. It's in my "Sent Messages" folder. I just posted it to your "Discussion" page. Hopefully that works.
Dream aquarium, fanfarkingtastic!
whats kind of fishes are this?
i like it so much
Good Lord, if a fish dies in there, how do you get it out?
Erm, Scubadive?
KSound Kaiju Doesn't the fish just float to the surface?
i have only had 3 that died and they didnt float
AquaLife&More but the top is covered so you cant pick it up anyway
You break the glass and let it come to you
I am very interested in your custom siphon kit. I am planning to have huge tank myself. Could you please make one?
Fuckkkkk... I wish I can have a tank that big!!! That's goals right there!
The first huge tank which is actually nice. Not overstocked with fish not belonging in captivity.
Awesome set up , you know when you have a big ass tank when a step ladder is required at feeding time hehe :) love it
Might be easier to just jump in with bags of food!
Casa nova lol- I just sent you a message with the cost breakdown.
Curious how big the fish are today...
That is simply beautiful my man!
How many gallons is that?
+MasterAquatics 770
Beautiful tank. Is doing water changes on that hard?
+MasterAquatics It's not so bad. I made a gravel vac using 1.5" tubing, so it drains pretty quickly (~15 - 20 minutes for a 50% water change). It's refilling that takes a while (a little less than an hour). The whole process takes about 1.5 hrs.
now that's a tank
Do you have a vid of you doing maintenance on the tank? And what your filtration system looks like?
Looks like you found the video I took of the filter. I don't have a video of maintenance. All I do is pull out the filter socks, blast them with the hose and I drain 50% of the water using a big gravel vacuum I built out of PVC and sump tubing. I refill using two hoses so that it fills faster. Total process takes about 2 hours and I do it every Sunday. I use a magnetic algae scraper to clean algae off the front and side panels...I don't bother trying to clean the back panel.
me here with my 10 gallon
be gratefull i have 100 gallon tank and its hard to maintance...
+alex bomb I know, having my 10 gallon is awesome, but having a 700 gallon like the one in the video it will be extremely awesome, but I know that it will be really hard to maintain it
i'm happy with my 25 gallon.
i have a 180 and its easier to maintain then my old 55 was
Angel Carreño I have a 30 but still have a huge canister filter..... lol at least my tank is clean.... and have gourami fish and tetras (since it's a small tank, fish are fairly easy, and they mix well)
Nice Tank. what is the thickness of the glass you used for this aquarium???
Thanks. It's made out of 1.25" thick acrylic.
And I thought water changes on my 60 gallon took time.
Wow this tank looks amazing what size tank is it
wow!
I want a Huge tank too!
Awesome. How big is the tank in cm’ or feet ??? No gallons. I’m in Australia lol.
The only problem I would have with owning this tank, would be, what to stock it with, there would be so many options!...Stunning mate!
Makoy Unggoy haha, thanks Makoy. Glad you like the tank.
Alex Diaz your lucky please make more vids
Zoo Sanantonioawesome Not much has changed, except the Pinktail Chalceus passed away. =( I'll see if I can make a new one, but I have uploaded quite a few if you check out my channel.
Only 1 option. Guppies.
I will love to put some rainbow fish with angels and big gouramis like kissing gouramies and blue gouramies, with some small semi-aggressive schooling fish like congo tetras and giant danios.
awesome tank!!! if don't mind what are the dimensions of your tank?
how much did the tank cost? looks amazing
Bonjour de France,
SVP pouvez vous me dire la variété des gros poissons de votre aquarium avec la bande noire vertical.
Merci d'avance.
JP
Nice tank but abit overstocked. I would recommend just one betta fish only
That tank is small for betta!!! I would recommend one Celestial pearl danio
WWE DX Fan too big!! A cherry shrimp would probably work. A neon tetra would work, but that’s pushing it.
To crowded! Lets put just one guppy fry, that will work!
Angel Carreño no no I say a baby cherry shrimp is max
S Davies how about one bribe shrimp. That seems a little overstocked but if you do water changes every hour it should work
Amazing tank.
BUT how do u clean it?
I would be happy if im a fish and live in your tank lol :)
Love your tank what's the size? Gallons?
incredible!
Thanks Jack. Glad you like.
What kind of filtration system do you have on your tank and by the way you have a lovely fish tank
Thanks. Filter is a 150G sump with filter socks. Here's an old video (I removed bio-balls). ua-cam.com/video/3g4KGI7caho/v-deo.html
Absolutely stunning. Love watching the clowns!
Thanks Kevin. I don't think I could have a tank without loaches; they are one of my favorites. Glad you enjoyed the videos.

Nice Tank ,,,,Got mine 1200 litres with my cichlids babies.....that will my next upgrade...
Thickness of your glass?
In millimeters
The acrylic panels are 1.25" thick. Google translates 1.25 inches to 31.75 millimeters.
Alex Diaz what pump do you use?
Description.....
Wow this is great, huge tank and not overcrowded, you see some with big fish and smaller tanks and overcrowded, only think id love to see if there were more stuff like little plants and toys!!
+Marteen Lake Thanks Marteen- Having lots of stuff in the tank makes cleaning more difficult, but I hear you. Decorations are nice.
Alex Diaz True, would be hard. With such a big tank i could imagine you jumping in going for a swim to clean it out haha
I love the tank but I watched this twice because I like cute boys.
+Ceeraye There were no boys in this video. If you're looking for "cute boys" join NAMBLA....
Hotchner Pittman Lol
They're called fish.Not boys.
Hotchner Pittman lmao
Hu ub ub
Is that mono?? it lives in brackish water it will not survive in that tank it will die soon
fucking love the size of your fishtank
Hi. Your tank is amazing. What plants you had in the tank?
Wow nice video good N all the best for other future videos ,👍👍👍👍👍👍nice Tank 😳 ,,,

Beautiful Tank...love the bogwood !!! What kind of substrate do you have there ?
Thank you. The substrate is some gravel I picked up at a local landscape supply yard. It was sold as 1/2" Mexican gravel.
those Clown Loaches are a perfect example of the species - stunning
Those silver dollars are so beautiful!
Hello from France,
Please tell me the variety of large fish in your aquarium with the vertical black band.
Thank you in advance.
JP
Hi Jean Pierre, they are called Widebar Silver Dollars (AKA Emperor Blue Hooks) - Scientific name is Myleus Schomburgkii.
Beautiful Aquarium! How long does it take to clean and how often do you clean it? :) x
the first time i saw Red Fin Bala Sharks! Great tank!
1-What are the dimensions? 2- What is the thickness of glass used?
10'L x 3'W x 4'T
The aquarium is made of 1.25" thick acrylic.
Can you make a video how to maintain ur tank and about foods and how to change water and stuff. Plzzzzz
How do you clean that?? It's gorgeous!!
Thanks Debbie. I have a magnetic algae scraper, a 4' long grabber and a made a large version with 1.5" tubing of the python no spill clean n fill. It's not much different than maintain a smaller tank, it just takes a while to refill after a water change.
I'm just wondering how to clean up your tank ?
How much for that gorgeous setup? I love it and wish to have one similar one day soon!
Carlo Castiglione Hey Carlo, I sent you a message with the cost details. Glad to hear you like the tank.
+Alex Diaz hey Alex. Could you also tell me how much your whole set up cost? I have the room and the Concrete slab foundation for something like this myself.
+lmbpilot7 Thanks Pilot. I just sent you a message.
I want to make same size aquarium. Please suggest me what type of breasing I have to do.....
Tank looks great Alex! Finally took all the advice you were giving on monsterfishkeepers about Laguna pumps and got myself a max flo 2400. Hopefully I'll get it up and running today. Keep us updated on that beautiful tank brother!
Dustin Grosser Thanks Dustin (heretix?). Hope that Laguna works out well for you...I've been really happy with mine.
Hi Alex.
This is awesome.love this. no word to explain.they have freedom to go everywhere .But I have a problem.how to clear water like this.
THANKS:)
I see you use a magnetic algae scrapper. Doesnt that scratch the acrylic?
Hi Peter, The tank is running well. I'll do an update video hopefully sometime before this summer. I've put a couple of scratches in the tank with the magnetic scraper. My gravel is fairly large, so there's not much risk getting a pebble stuck between the acrylic and the magnet, but you are right...some tiny fragments will inevitably get stuck in there and create scratches, but if you are careful, it's not bad. The best strategy to avoid scratches is doing what you are doing.
where is this in your house?? super nice man!
really like the fact you did NOT overstock the tank like many would
such a beautiful tank really thought out , bet it looks wonderful at night also when they are schooling together thank you for sharing this awesome vid !xx
+Elizabeth R Hey Elizabeth, glad you enjoyed the video. I actually shoot almost all the videos I've uploaded at night, otherwise there is a brutal glare on the front panel...you are right, the tank definitely looks better at night. Thanks for the comment.
You know what, props to this guy for a big tank that isn't overstocked
Thank you for reviewing my speed drawing videos of my star designs. This is my first passion. The aquarium of certain fish also of which I own a tank of 500 liters.
Best regards
Is that a tiger barbs out there ??
Nice how do you clean it and how big is the tank?
Thanks Leroy. The tank is 10'L x 3'W x 4'T...comes out to around 770 gallons. I clean it with a big sump hose (drain out 50% of the water every 10 days or so) and I have a magnetic algae scraper so I don't have to dive in to clean the walls.
Wow.....! How many gallon tank is that??
+Lord G 770 gallons.
One day I will have tank that size. Just beautiful.
+javier6938 Thanks Javier. Glad you enjoyed the video.
R those tiger barbs .......I have few but there colour is not so dark
@@aldiaz33 Wow...I ended up removing the stump, just wasn't worth it! Once it broke free of 25lbs of slate I was done, lol
beautiful! but I always wondered- when people have aquariums that big and with large fish, how do they clean the water? I have a 20 gallon tank and I struggle to maintain even that. lol
+Jack son Thanks Jack. I clean the filter every 10 days or so, I use a magnetic algae scraper to keep the walls clean and I change out the water using a large scale DIY version of a python no spill clean n fill. IMO, consistent water changes are the most important aspect of keeping a healthy tank. Not overstocking a tank also really helps. The fewer fish you have (the lower the bio-load), the easier it is to maintain.
Alex Diaz I see. Thanks for the info Bro :)
Привет 🤝+ Лайк 👍 Аквариум на - 1ну тонну воды ? На верху - между стёклами есть - стяжки ?
What are the fish with the red tails?Chelius?
how much did the tank n decor cost u?
На сколько кубов аквариум!?Размеры и толщина стекла.С ув.
Why don't you make monster fish tank
I've been looking in to getting a 670gallon acrylic tank from Fish direct but where would I get filter and all of that
Fishtanksdirect sells sumps/filters, but you can just find a used tank on craigslist for cheap and build your own for way less money. That's what I would have done if my tank didn't come with a filter.
dream tank.
perfection. perfect stocking
How much would a tank like that cost to get constructed and have a sump or external filters cheers
Hey Alan- I just sent you a message with the details.
Can you tell me size of the tank and its overall cost
