Remember when Rolex first introduced the 37 mm form factor and we all thought it was ridiculously chunky. I'm glad, the dinner plate watch fad is finally petering out but really, why only reduce back to 38 mm and not return to the 37 mm which had been so popular for decades especially as the ladies size went up to 36 mm when the men's watch went from 37 mm to 40+ mm.
I love the 38 mm case size but it still has Date in the dial. I don’t know why they don’t offer us a no Date Option. I’ll pass this watch just cause of that.
all seiko 5s have five features that they require to be labeled a seiko 5: a day date display, water resistance, four o clock crown, automatic movement, and a durable case. Seiko did this to create a watch that has all these features at a affordable price to appeal to new young watch collectors
Why are you acting like those models are called just seiko 5s. Do you know how many different style and sizes there are of the seiko 5 category? That's a very specific seiko 5 model and a sized down version of it.

There's already a lot of 40s. And here I am with 15cm wrist and I can't find anything. Literally zero automatic and waterproof watches below 38 diameter or below 43 lug-to-lug. Might be because the smaller the watch the harder it is to fit everything inside.

@@alreawon1212 not really off the top of my head. Though I'm currently wearing my Seiko SRPK31 and that comes pretty close to everything you mentioned.
38mm actually trends back to more traditional dial sizes. The dinner plate look at me size is the abnomily likely needed by people these days to compensate for other things.
I love the size since I have small wrist but the colors 😢. I wish they had a sunburst blue dial with pepsi bezel like the SRPD53

He did say three "vibrant" colors, but you are correct! There is a black one which also tends to be cheaper than the colored models.

That champagne dial and black bezel really looks clean and to my liking. But my brain says to get the black one because the legibility is really good.
