Just saw them last night at rockville here in daytona and they performed it live for the second time ever. I thought it was awesome!
I really wanted to go, but it's a 4 hour drive from my home and i didn't want to tent a hotel. Im sure it was awesome tho

If I had to place this song into one of Slipknot's older albums, I would put it in Volume 3. I love the song. It really takes me back to the time of Pulse of the Maggots. That's just me though. The songs a banger.

Corey's Yells seem to be the best Ive ever herd in this song tho and the Drums are def crazy good.
It’s a mix of everything they’ve done. I’ve found the chorus weird at first, but if you focus on the guitar riff under those vocals, I really dig the song.

Although it's not one of my favorites from slipknot, I still think it's a pretty good song. Regardless of what people think about slipknot or any particular song of theirs, they do what makes them happy when it comes to the music. With that in mind it makes this song better to listen to. That's what real musicians do. Plus all except Jay are nearing or at 50+ years old and they still are going strong like they havent aged a second. Slipknot is simply an absolute juggernaut of a band!

Your not wrong the drums are very busy. I do like it and like with anything things have to grow on you i suppose.
If it has to grow on you, it isn’t good is what I believe.. It will then eventually just be ok, but not give you goosebumps.
@@MariusViken Youre mind has never herd Slipknot like this soo yes it has to grow on you. Its busy its hard its fast and has a nice break down and chorus..Just give it time this ain't some repetitive song that we can just understand right away. I like it
@@MariusViken I am not sure about that. First time I heard Gently, I thought it was shit, but after a few more listenings it became one of my favourites.
This is one of those songs that take a while to figure out. Lots of changes. Seems all over the place. 3rd time listening to it in the past week and it seems to be getting better Every time I hear it
Same here man. There's a lot going on with the drums to take in, when you start figuring all that out it starts to make sense and like you said gets better every time you listen it!

Last one was a fucking banger surprisingly. Orphan was like a lost song from Iowa.
It's got some brilliant parts and ideas, but they're too short. If the drums stay like this it would fine, but having something slightly simpler wouldn't hurt. And the mix made it feel really airy and flat

The abruptness, the short fills and always something "new" is a nod to their debut. So yeah, a bit too short but I can get on board with it, it's frenetic and wild.
Finally... someone who reacts and doesn't try to play it up when they're not that into it.

Tbh bro, they’ve been doing this for 20 years, so for me, I don’t blame them if they make another song that sounds basic. I mean, everyone will run into that wall we’re you might accidentally write the same thing, or close to the same thing. But tbf, let’s all be glad that slipknot still have it to be heavy asf, and those vocals 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Think my biggest issue is there are parts that last like 3 seconds that are heavy as fuck, you could literally make those parts into an entire song but they're so short. It's just way to busy and cluttered

For Slipknot I find this to be more of a "Filler" song on the album or a bonus track.. This is just an average song for the Knot.. I don't like it, I don't hate it.. it's just there.. LOL.. Love to you and the dogs.. oh, and Al..

@Fractal Chaos I hope you read my first comment again and what you responded too. As a Drummer this song is Prob one of there hardest songs to learn. You should know this , Also The band members are getting old man I donno what you expect from 50 year olds.
I actually like it. Especially because Sid and Craig aren't as buried in the mix like more recent albums. However, the rest of it was very by the Slipknot Book, and doesn't stand out massively. Also, you're expecting a really heavy part that just never arrives...

I absolutely understand your reaction. I listened to the song for the first time the day it came out and the second time is now while you reacted to it. It is not bad but with any other slipknot song, I would listen to it on repeat. Heard it once, didn't come back for a second time really.

Its like an All Hope Is Gone Song with Vol.3 voice, I Love it.
It is so interesting to see how divided people are on this song. Talking to my best friend about it, he absolutely hated this song, but I really liked it. Kinda reminds me of people’s reactions to the WRNYK single when that first aired (my friend and I had similar reactions like this song).
I’ll admit the song isn’t that cohesive as a whole, but that doesn’t bother me. I like a lot of the riffs in here, and also dig the chorus. I also disagree with people that say Corey sounds bad on this song. His vocals here in all seriousness remind me of the Iowa and self-titled era, it’s insane!
As a diehard slipknot maggot, I totally agree with you! The stuff on "we are not your kind" slapped more than this! It's your typical "slipknot stomp" sound. Totally love it because of Jay's parts!! SEX!

2:18 - I couldn’t agree with you more! Jim & Mick have been pretty lazy with riffs since the gray chapter.
You can hear the lack of Paul and Joey songwriting. This is mostly Jim and Corey which is why it's over the place.

One thing I dislike from Jay's drums is that his breaks are always short. Joey had nice long ones making it more alive.

If there is one thing for sure about Slipknot is that for most of their songs, you need to listen a couple of times to get into them, when I first heard this song I didn't really like but after a couple of times I really like it, it's not perfect, but it's not bad.
