Hawaii Souvenirs, Neva Fear! An expert guides you to the good stuffs!

Don't get overwhelmed when shopping for souvenirs for friends/family on the Mainland. Let me share my secrets that I have developed over many years of buying little trinkets for those I left behind.
Don't we want them to know we care for them and will try to share our Island trip as best we can? It does not have to be something stupendous or expensive, but maybe something that they can really relate to. (Meaning: a gift intended for them specifically.)
It's wonderful when we can find that perfect gift that appeals to our friend. Yes at times we don't know what to get them. That's when certain principles can be used. I made them up in the video.
Watch the amount of money you spend, avoid bulky and heavy items, look for something practical or get the exclusives that show you care.
Okay, this is all in fun but it's proven to be very satisfying to myself and those I give souvenirs to.
Don't limit yourself to ABC Store, I used many screenshots from ABC off of PhotoLukeHawaii's videos to help my discussion. Lower prices might be found at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, Costco, Walmart, Longs, and Target.
I try to look for something small, lightweight, a new product, super cute that fulfills a lot of gift desires. Sometimes it turns out to be snacks. Some of my photos show products that were actually gifts to us, so bravo to the clever choices that our relatives made.

Thanks for watching, yes we also enjoy this store. Nowadays, the 'upscale' ones have lots of food available, both on hand or to order. I didn't cover that part at all.

I use my Hawaii luggage tag as a keychain now. And also still have a little good luck statue made of plaster that I got for myself.

Such a well done and informative video! My rule of thumb is to try only buy Hawaiian made (sometimes hard to find and always more expensive but worth it!) And I like hour thought about “useful”!!

I'm glad you mentioned that! That is a very good idea, I find it hard to find 'Hawaii made' items though, I suppose some of the smaller stores, craft fairs or maybe at the swap meet. I agree that buying local is good.

Thank you for your concern. Though the weather has warmed up a bit, it’s not too bad so far. Overall I am feeling well, however, I am fighting the flu at the moment, and that has taken some of the wind out of my sails. But I expect to recover in soon, so nothing to be concerned about.
